GREAT CHILDREN'S BOOK FOR CHRISTMAS OR WINTER HOLIDAYS!
The gingerbread man and woman need a new home! A team of kids struggle to create the perfect gingerbread house. The project guidelines are clear: the winning house must stand upright on its own and a gingerbread boy and girl must fit inside.
Sounds easy?
But creating is hard. Cookie burn, the icing it too thin, the house caves-in, someone is eating the candy decorations, and—Oh!—they forgot about putting the gingerbread boy and girl inside the house.
Engineering is a creative process. That means you must learn toovercome problemsand persevere.Inspire budding engineers to think about the classic gingerbread house in new ways.
Written in a lyrical rhyme, it’s sure to please the language arts folks, too.
Kirkus Reviews says, “Pattison’s text begs to be read aloud and Joven’s spreads offer dynamic visuals…”
Come one, come all! The Gingerbread Fair opens soon!
This is a story about building, rethinking the plan, and finishing strong.

ETS1.B: Developing Possible Solutions
Designs can be conveyed through sketches, drawings, or physical models. These representations are useful in communicating ideas for a problem’s solutions to other people. (K-2-ETS1-2)
2-PS1-2 Analyze data obtained from testing different materials to determine which materials have the properties that are best suited for an intended purpose.
2-PS1-3Make observations to construct an evidence-based account of how an object made of a small set of pieces can be disassembled and made into a new object
K-2-ETS1-2 Develop a simple sketch, drawing, or physical model to illustrate how the shape of an object helps its function as needed to solve a given problem.
K-2-ETS1-3 Analyze data from tests of two objects designed to solve the same problem to compare the strengths and weaknesses of how each performed.
3-5-ETS1-2 Generate and compare multiple possible solutions to a problem based on how well each is likely to meet the criteria and constraints of the problem.
3-5-ETS1-3 Plan and carry out fair tests in which variables are controlled and failure points are considered to identify aspects of a model or prototype that can be improved.

Title: Timely and Great Condition!
Review: As an Early Childhood Educator for 15 years this was a wonderful STEM book for budding gingerbread house engineers! The book came super fast almost as fast as the gingerbread man! It was in pristine condition and I would definitely buy from this seller again!

Title: A lasting Holiday tradition!
Review: This book is a beautiful marriage of poetic verse and diverse illustrations, of STEM challenges and pure fun, and of learning how to cope with failure and transform it to success. Iâd recommend it for parents, teachers, and every kid who likes to read, bake or decorate! Itâs a holiday must read in my opinion and a new tradition for our family-even if we might cheat and build with graham crackers if the season gets too busy!

Title: A book that's a marvelous plan? You got it!
Review: A book thatâs a marvelous plan? You got it! This one gives you all the steps you need to make your own gingerbread house, and itâs written like The House That Jack Built. When youâre done reading, use this book to make your own marvelous plan for a gingerbread house of your own.

Title: Wonderful story! Just in time for the holidays...
Review: This book is amazing! I ordered the paperback, so I could add it to the collection of books I keep for my nieces and nephews to enjoy. Excellent combination of science, technology, inclusiveness, and story structure. So much fun!!! I definitely recommend it.

Title: I was so excited about this concept... but it was a dud
Review: The cadence of the witting didn't work well when *I* read it out loud and I don't think it really helped teach the concepts of engineering about why the failures were failures. Building a gingerbread house is such an opportunity to learn about math and physics and engineering, but honestly, this may be the book I am the most disappointed in, ever.
