NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • “This book is the inspirational story that we all need. No one makes me laugh harder than Leanne Morgan!”—Reese Witherspoon

The beloved comedy sensation packs a hilarious punch with real talk about what it’s like to be a woman today—from rebelling against the latest diet trends to dealing with perimenopausal mean girls and attending rock concerts in middle age.

For a long time, no one pulling the strings in the comedy world thought that a woman over fifty from rural Tennessee could make it in the industry. But Leanne Morgan has defied the odds, reaching millions with her musings on hormones, low-rise britches, Weight Watchers, and her opposites-attract relationship with her husband, Chuck.

In her charming southern accent, Morgan brings readers inside her quest to find her voice after spending many years trying to figure out what that meant. Along the way, we learn how she grew up as a butcher’s daughter, landed a husband with health insurance, honed her stand-up technique selling jewelry at house parties, embraced the glories of aging, and surrendered to the comfort of wearing big flesh-toned panties.

Equal parts warm and hilarious, this book is a must-read by one of comedy’s rising stars—reminding you that every time life leaves you asking “What in the world?!,” something good is bound to come out of it someday.

Title: This book will make you happy!
Review: I just finished reading “What in the World” by Leanne Morgan. I remember thinking “I have watched every video, podcast and have seen her live 3 times. I hope the book is not a repeat of her act. It did not disappoint! All new information. Loved reading about her childhood. Found so many things to relate to…as all of you will. I have followed Leanne since she performed at Side Splitters in Knoxville TN and as a Knoxville native I can say we are so proud of her. This book will make you laugh out loud and when you are done, you will feel like Leanne is your best friend. I highly recommend this book. I am an avid reader and this book was funny, well written and a total joy to read! Thank you Leanne for sharing the good and the bad with us and making us feel like we are not alone in how we sometimes feel about life!

Title: Funny. Relatable. Real.
Review: Just finished this beautiful book! Leanne’s stories are relatable for women everywhere. I live in the Knoxville area now. But until a few years ago, I was a “south side of Chicago girl”— which is a different kind of southern girl. I love her material because we’ve all been there in some way or another. She helps us to see those tough, exhausting seasons of life in a way that makes it not so hard. Thank you, Leanne, for using the gifts that God has given you to encourage us and make us laugh at the “not so funny” things that life throws at us. You are a doll!

Title: Funny and honest- I almost choked on my lunch from laughing
Review: I just finished reading “What in the World?!” by comedian Leanne Morgan. I primarily read it at work on my lunch break and almost choked a couple times on my meal from laughter. Leanne’s comedy comes from her life experiences that are honest and relatable, many of which she shares in this book. The book is not entirely humorous as it includes her personal struggles with marriage, friendships, and reaching her dreams of becoming a comedian. It is a sweet, easy read that I think many people, especially women, can relate to. Even if you can’t relate to everything, it will bring a smile to your face.I Also recommend watching her comedy special on Netflix. It was the most watched special on the platform in 2023 and brings me joy.

Title: Funny, upbeat humor from one of the most relatable comediennes of our time!
Review: If you are familiar with Leanne Morgan’s comedy, you’ll recognize some of the material in this book. What I really enjoyed was how this book put it all in the larger context of what was going on in her life – good & bad, how she felt about it & how she dealt with it. She doesn’t deny the low parts of her life, or any poor decisions on her part that may have contributed to them. But she has a positive attitude, a strong sense of herself, and trust in her worth as a child of God that got her through. I love her relatable, self-deprecating humor, and the grace she affords others in all her dealings. For example, she talks about things that her husband does that frustrate her, but she presents it all in a spirit of mutual love and respect that is so generous and refreshing. Also, she makes it clear that the accomplishment she values most is the three wonderful human beings she has raised. It’s such an uplifting message in a world that often tells women motherhood is the worst thing that can happen to your career. Leanne always put her children first, and found fulfillment in her role as a mother, but that didn’t prevent her from rising to the top of her field in her chosen craft. She imparts all this without a hint of proselytizing, lecturing, or value judgements. She simply offers her story with humor and encouragement. Bravo!

Title: Such a Fun Read!
Review: I started following Leanne Morgan during “the mean evil COVID” I would laugh out loud at her video clips during such a scary time in our world. I love how relatable her comedy is. I have seen her stand up act twice in person and I think she is hilarious. Her new book follows the journey from a young girl to where she is now. It is well written and I finished it in one sitting. She tells her story in a fun and interesting manner and as I read I could hear her cute southern accent. So happy for her success as she seems so humble and grateful to have achieved so much at this point in her life!
