Title: Almost a treatise on soups, stews and concoctions to eat from bowls
Review: You can't beat the price, currently FREE for Kindle, but this book is good enough I'd certainly pay for it. There is such a variety of soups and souplike recipes, even the fussiest cook and eater will find many that please. They range from mild comfort food to spicy adventures to luxurious extravagances. What sets this book apart in my opinion, is that it's chock full of special notes and suggestions to allow cooks to vary, substitute, enhance and elaborate on techniques, ingredients and preparations. The author assumes little, explaining all you might need to know. Each recipe is enriched with the author's notes. Even though I'm a very experienced cook, I found the notes interesting and often enlightening, even though the recipes can stand alone.

Title: Handy reference
Review: What a handy reference this book is! I liked the layout of the book and the tips. The book starts out with an explanation of the things you'll need in order to make a variety of soups, and even if you cook regularly the tips are helpful. They also give a few tips on using a crockpot, which a lot of people try to do but it can be tricky when it comes to soups. The tips in this book will help that.I like the overall layout of the book, with recipes divided up into various sections by protein. I really thought there was a nice variety of different recipes that most people probably hadn't heard of. Good resource.

I love the facts and tidbits the author included with some of the recipes.Never thought I would put a cook book on my kindle. Now I am glad I found this one. I can't wait to try out some of the recipes, especially the Turkey soup, egg drop soup, hot and sour soup, and the barley soups.I rate this book with 5 stars for the easy to read format and the fact that there is 300 recipes included in this book.

Title: Glad it was free..
Review: I am extremely glad it was free. It is a small little book with recipes everyone already knows, or that come up after a basic search on the Internet.

Title: soups just in time for fall
Review: I have only read the first chapter and fell in love with this book. The depth about soups, stews, and chilis is great. I have been cooking for far too many years and I found out more about these subjects than I already new. this will be a great addition to my cookbook stash and it won't take up room on the book shelf.

Title: Everything you wanted to know about Soups, Stews and Chilis, but were afraid to ask!
Review: I bought this ebook for my Kindle because it was free, but was very happily surprised to see what a thorough cookbook it is. It gives so many recipes for stews, soups and chilis, that I would recommend it even if it wasn't free. You can't get a better guide than this on all kinds of soups, stews, and chilis. I found the Kindle table of contents very easy to navigate. I can't wait to make a recipe.

Title: Not for Kindle
Review: I have a regular original Kindle with the Keyboard which I love....however that being said, I purchased two cookbooks and had them downloaded to my Kindle and it just does not work out....If you have the new Kindle Fire....fire away! Im sure they will be fine however on the regular 3G WiFi Keyboard Kindle....you cannot see the photos properly...everything is gray and the words are difficult to read. I woud not do this again.

Review: bought this as a gift for my dad for Christmas 2010. He since had cooked lots of the recipes inside and said they are very lovely!only problem is, there are no pictures, so you don't know what it's supposed to look like when finished!.but the food is nice and hearty, good for cold weather and the ingredients aren't too exotic or can't be bought in a supermarket which is always a plus!.

Review: A nice selection of recipes for (as it says on the cover!) soups, stews and chili. OK, so not all of them are fantastic, and some are just variations on a theme - but, I always think a cookery book is good if you get just one or two decent recipes from it.......... and I certainly did from this one. A great freebie title.
