Katie Hammontree and Sarah Cooper have been best friends since the 2nd grade. Katie's welcoming, tight-knit family is a convenient substitute for Sarah when her distant parents aren't around, and Sarah's abrasive, goal-oriented personality gels well with Katie's more laid-back approach to life.

But when a misunderstanding leads to the two of them being mistaken for a couple and Sarah uses the situation to her advantage, Katie finds herself on a roller coaster ride of ambiguous sexuality and confusing feelings. How far will Sarah go to keep up the charade, and why does kissing her make Katie feel more alive than kissing her ex-boyfriend Austin ever did? And how will their new circle of gay friends react when the truth comes out?

Title: Really good read
Review: I loved this book: it's witty, sweet, hot, and real, with just enough angst and misdirection. Sierra Maley's Katie and Sarah as the best friends / romantic interests are exactly the kind of people I would have loved to share a lunch table with in high school. Dating Sarah Cooper is a great read.On another note: Dear Ms. Maley, please invest a few minutes reviewing the difference between subject, object, and possessive pronouns, because "me" is not a dirty word and "I's" is not a word at all. Your writing is so engaging I hate having my attention snagged away by grammar errors.

Title: A fan-fic by any other name...
Review: If you hadn't seen the show, this would seem like a pretty clever bit of plotting. As it stands, I have mixed feelings: maybe I should have read the description or reviews more closely. The phrase "inspired by" suggests some fine distinctions around appropriating the plot of a currently-running TV show which are lost on me. Why not just call it fan-fiction?That issue aside, the characters do for the most part have their own, distinct personalities, and things develop differently than the premise of the show/book suggests they might. The writing is generally competent if on the fluffy/optimistic side, although there were a few glaring grammatical errors which I had to squint past ("Her and I's" - multiple times). Overall fairly "lite" but still a cute, fun read. Ironically, the plotting got out of hand towards the end, indicating this author perhaps would not have fared much better than the writers for FI's second season. For me, the bottom line was that I liked this story, these characters, and the writing better than many other self-published so-called lesbian/YA titles I've picked up lately. But I liked them in spite of rather than because of the plot - that much borrowing without calling it fan-fiction just made me uncomfortable. I would still try another title from this author, because I'd like to support her writing.

Title: Use this book to replace disappointment in that (shall not be named) TV series!
Review: I enjoyed the story. It was better than the MTV story. There is a television series using the same premise but I think in the book it starts for a slightly different reason but the "faux" relationship is being used by one of the girls to attract the attention of a boy she has had an interest in for quite some time.It was a pretty light read. My only issue was the length of time it took for the girls to realize that they shared the same feelings. There are typos or some strange sentences but they were not frequent enough to get in the way of the story so I give it 5 stars since it delivers on what I was looking for - romance, love, and a bit of drama.

Title: Solid book
Review: I was without a book which is a situation I don't care for a bit, so I began looking at author's I liked in the past to see if I had missed anything and this came up. I was not in the mood for a YA, but this was an enjoyable read. The big talk with Katie's parents was humorous and original. Siera Maley has a nice writing style. Her books flow well and I like her characters.

Title: Faking It????
Review: I have a weakness for Young Adult lesbian romance novels. I am really too old for them, but I wish they'd been around when I was a teenager. That would have been so wonderful. Maybe I'm re-imagining my youth by reading them. Anyway...This is a well-written story, much better than most of the self-published stuff one reads nowadays. It's a typical, but sweet, high-school romance between two best friends. There's a twist... and it's kind of fun so I won't spoil it here.I would give this story four or five stars, BUT..it's overly similar to a television series called "Faking It" on MTV. I don't feel comfortable calling it a rip-off, as it's not exactly identical... but... the similarities are there. I don't want to accuse the author of plagiarism or anything, because that particular plot-line isn't unique to either "Faking It" or "Dating Sarah Cooper." It's possible that the author had never seen "Faking It" when she wrote this book. They both came out in 2014 and I'm sure it took her time to write this book. So maybe it's just a coincidence.Hmmm... Hard to say. Well, if you like "Faking It," then you'll probably like this book too.

Review: This book manages to maintain a lighthearted tone while still discussing the challenges faced by the lgbt community. (There's almost no angst.) I loved the characters and their story. Katie and Sarah are very realistic. The fake-dating-turned-real trope is used excellently. Also, there are several prominent bisexual characters including Sarah (the love interest). I like this because many authors seem to forget that bi people exist- it's like suddenly they like a girl and everything they've ever felt for a guy was fake. Most awesome of all- there's a happy ending.

Title: Very cute, believable, well written plot
Review: A very cute story, with a well written and believable plot, something that i so dearly miss (especially the believable) on most books of the genre. A very excellent read overall.I only found one flaw (by flaw i mean an unrealistic, not-making-sense development in the plot) in the story, near the very end of the book. Aside from this moment, it was a thrilling, albeit short, ride. Got me sad, happy, over and over again, quite the roller coaster. My thanks for the writer.

Review: This book is FRICKING AMAZING! Like seriously. The characters are amazingly written, with such depth of their emotions that is so easily relatable; being a gay woman I thought they really showed what it's like to realise you're gay, I mean it's bloody brutal sometimes! The story arch was just awesome, my heart about exploded! When it happened I swear my cheeks were on fire from this smile I kept.I recommend everyone to read it, like NOW! This author is just awesome; this is the second book I've read by her, purely by chance and I was not disappointed ONE BIT!Hot damn, this may be my new favourite book, favourite anything. Best two day obsession ever.
