Title: The best pen I have ever used.
Review: I recently acquired this pen after discovering a fountain pen set at my workplace. The set introduced me to this network of pens. As a college student, I sought to enhance my note-taking experience. Consequently, I was thrilled when this pen arrived. The pen is housed in a sturdy and elegant case. Inside, there is a well-crafted and weighted pen that feels comfortable to carry and use. It provides a sense of control while writing. I ordered ink along with the pen and am currently using the converter with branded black ink. The writing experience is exceptional. The extra fine tip offers a bit more feedback, which I appreciate, as it allows me to feel the writing process. The ink flow is consistent and does not skip. I have written numerous pages with this pen, and it continues to perform as well as it did with the first word.I had previously tried a Lamy pen, thinking it would be comparable, but it fell short of my expectations, particularly with the fine tip. I intend to try the extra fine tip, but this pen currently holds the top position. It feels robust and durable, with no signs of bending or breaking. This is particularly true for the metal clip, which is initially rigid but should loosen up with use. The fit is ideal for my hand, although I would appreciate some ergonomic grips, as the metal can become slippery during extended writing sessions.

Title: Great Pen, Great Value
Review: After using two of these pens for three years, I feel confident saying that they're very good pens and a great value. I'm no the most careful person in the world, so I've put this through a fair amount of use and abuse, including numerous dry outs and subsequent cleanings. However, they write as well today as they did the day I bought them. They still look nice too, despite me being a bit careless with how I store and transport them.As for the pens themselves: The construction is great. They're all metal, solid in the hand, good friction to keep the pen oriented in your grip. The plastic emblem on the top of the cap, on both my pens, doesn't have a scuff or scratch on it despite my abuse, nor has it gotten cloudy or discolored. While I don't pretend to be a pen expert, the nib hasn't failed me --- no uneven flow or trouble starting.I can't really say if this is a buy-it-for-life product (ask me when I'm dead), but I can certainly see it lasting that long with a little reasonable care. I've kept one on my desk and took the other with me, using it in all kinds of environments, including many constructions sites. I honestly can't tell a difference in how they look or perform. So, whether you're thinking about this pen for at-home or on-the-go, I think you'll be very happy either way. I have been. And lastly, kudos to the company. It's nice to see a business care enough to put out a solid product.

Title: Quality Writing at an Affordable Price
Review: I rarely do reviews, but I just purchased my 5th Hong Dian (that's how it's written on the cap) fountain pen. As much as I don't want everyone to clamber on board and drive up the price of these little beauties, I've gotta give this company some love for creating a really well-made fountain pen on the cheap.I've tried several other 'affordable' brands of fountain pens and have been, generally, not WOWed. I have three go-to brands in this category, of which Hong Dian is one.The colors in the 'Forest' are more muted in person than they appear online. The green is almost a drab olive. However, the image of Purple Forest (as well as the blue) is the closest to a true representation of the actual barrel color. I was originally a bit disappointed in the barrel colors, but I've quickly gotten past that. The pens are actually pretty dang good! I was skeptical about the quality but my first one was on deep discount. I've since purchased 4 more of these pens. They work beautifully out of the box with no fussing over the nib. The ink converters come with the pens, making this an insanely good value for the money.I have a thing for fine nibs and Hong Dian does not disappoint. The EF nibs are the thinnest I've encountered among any brand. The EF are advertised as .04mm (their Fine at .05mm) although they feel like .035mm. The ink flow is perfect, with no skips or bloops. Although, I admit that I occasionally get some minor skipping with the bent nib if that pen hasn't been used in a day or so. The bent nib requires constant use. (I hate to say this, but I prefer the Sailor Fude bent nib and the Pilot stub nib to the Hong Dian bent nib because of that skipping.) The EF nibs, though, write perfectly even if they haven't been used for a few days, like over a long weekend. While quality inks are preferred, the Forest line still writes like a dream when used with cheaper inks. They create thin lines that are as equally suited to ink sketching as they are to letter-writing.In a nutshell, I've got a small collection of fountain pens. The wallet can only stretch so far so I've enjoyed trying out some of the different affordable lines. I am a big fan of the Pilot Metro and Dryden Designs. Among my three favorite lines of Affordable Pens, Hong Dian vies for first place with Pilot Metro.Dryden Designs have rich, creamy colors and a sioothing weight behind them. Their Fine nibs feel a little thick for my taste, but there's definitely a place for them in daily life.Pilot Metro are a good value, come in a variety of fun colors, and write beautifully. Their Fine nibs are true and produce a thin line. The Pilot Metro are rather light, however, compared to Dryden and Hong Dian. The Hong Dian Forest pens weigh only slightly more than the Pilot Metros, but the weight of the cap on the end of the pens give the impression of them being far more heavy. This not a complaint, as they are well-balanced and the weight of the pen is welcome when writing fine, detailed lines.I have surprised myself because, over the course of the pandemic, Hong Dian's Forest line has become one of my favorite pens. After a year of using these pens, I'm even happier now with them than I was in the beginning. I use them daily and, although I'd hate to lose one, they are affordable enough to replace should a Terrible Thing happen to one. I've even branched out to try other Hong Dian fountain pen lines based on the success of the Forest line.I am super pleased with this pen and highly recommend it, particularly if you enjoy EF nibs.

Title: Write smooth like butter
Review: The pen boasts several notable advantages that contribute to an exceptional writing experience. Its primary allure lies in the smooth flow of ink, which enhances the enjoyment of writing tasks. Despite its superior performance, the pen remains reasonably priced, offering excellent value for its quality. Furthermore, its classic appearance adds a touch of elegance to any writing endeavor. One distinctive characteristic worth mentioning is its weight; unlike many pens on the market, this one possesses a substantial weight that mimics the feel of a traditional Asian brush. While this might seem unconventional to some, it adds a unique dimension to the writing experience, creating a connection to the heritage and craftsmanship associated with such implements. Overall, these features combine to make the pen a standout choice for those who appreciate both functionality and aesthetic appeal in their writing instruments. For fans of the Lamy Safari like me, the pen's tight grip and weight can be drawbacks, particularly during extended writing sessions.Overall, an excellent and enjoyable pen.

Review: This was an impulse buy without much thought put into the buying process while I was browsing through Amazon.Since 2010, I have been using a Sheaffer Prelude, which my father gifted me for my university studies, and my only fountain pen until this pen joined my penmanship collection. Now, regarding the pen, for the price I paid, I would have only gotten a plastic pen from other manufacturers, but that is not the case here. As mentioned above, my Prelude pen is all metal, and I cannot go back to writing with a plastic fountain pen. Fortunately, this pen is also metal and lightweight. Finally, let's talk about the nib. I got the extra fine one. This is my first extra fine pen, and I was surprised at how well it wrote. It did not scratch my paper, and the ink flow is smooth. I used a Pelikan ink, and the ink suits this pen well.I highly recommend this pen.

Customers like the writing speed, appearance, and build quality of the product. They mention it writes well, provides a sense of control while writing, and is well-made. Some are also happy with the weight and pen quality. However, some customers have mixed opinions on the ink flow and functionality.
