Title: First MacBook… Perfect laptop but…
Review: It’s my first MacBook, I’ve been a Windows user my whole life.I've been using it for 10 days and it’s fantastic, great battery, amazing sound, ProMotion and 4K HDR looks astonishing. Only have one little (big) complaint.I notice that on the display there are some tiny black dots, dead pixels, I called to Amazon (they have a 90-day warranty) but since it was not a software problem, they told me to solve it with Apple and it’s recommendation was to visit an authorized seller, that means that if I have to replace the display, I will stay 1 month without laptop.Very bad experience considering the price of the equipment, it arrived in perfect condition, new (I took advantage of the USD 400 discount from the sale) and the box in excellent condition too, I guess it's a random issue, but to be aware of.I'm sure it's a factory fault, I'm only afraid that the problem gets worse, meanwhile, I'll try to ignore it.

Title: At this point, seems a moot review, but here goes.
Review: These are still nice machines to work on. I use it mostly for Lightroom on large photo jobs, with some smaller jobs in between, and occasionally to do some lighter teaching work and administration. I've swiched my old machine over to doing most of that. This is still a pleasure to work on. Maybe the denoise will take a little less time on a newer machine, but it's not enough for me to care. It never seems to choke and it's always responsive, despite Adobe's bloat.I'm coming from a 13" retina i7 machine. This is an order of magnitude better. For smaller jobs, it's nice to just stick the SD card in and ingest a set of pictures. Bigger jobs, I still like to use the CF Express reader with the Thunderbolt ports for the speed, and this has one more on the other side, so I can be more flexible in whatever random workspace I happen to be in. For me, portability is my main concern. This fits in the same bag, so it's not very noticeably larger. I have a portable monitor, so I can make more screen space when needed. There's an HDMI port, so I don't need to carry that dongle. Not to mention that it's an order of magnitude faster. This is the new equivalent of the 15' Macbook pro, but it fits in the same bag as the 13". This is excellent for me.Moving from the Retina 13", the keyboard is a lot better. Just make the change. At this point, this is a bargain way into Apple Silicon. I did the very hard job of replacing the keyboard on the 13" with an aftermarket one. That repair is not recommended for casual tinkerers, but it fixed all the usual complaints about the butterfly keyboard. I also replaced the battery, twice now. I actually like working on the retina now, but before it was always such a struggle between battery life and the keyboard. The 14" is better on all levels and probably the best in the industry. The keyboard has excellent accuracy and feedback. The touch pad is the best in the industry. The color rendering is excellent out of the box with a setting for photographic work. I don't need a custom profile like I did with previous generation machines. If you need a relative bargain, these M1 Pro machines are still very good to work on, and I don't plan to upgrade for a long time.

Title: Its every bit as good as I had hoped
Review: I have been a Mac fan since the early 1990's. This laptop (MBPro 14", with M1 Pro chip, 16 GB DRAM and 1 TB SSD) is VERY fast, with excellent battery life and great portability. Build quality is as you would expect for a $2k system, very high. The display is gorgeous with great aspect ratio, keyboard is excellent, speakers are great, etc. The only slight nit is it seems a bit heavier and thicker than it needs to be, but really it is as close to perfect as you get. I have been using computers since the 1980's and MacOS has always been easier to use than most alternatives. I administer many Windows 7/10/11 systems and Windows Server 2019/2022 systems for work, but prefer MacOS for my personal workstation. You literally could not pay me enough to use ANY other OS for my personal system. I have been using Unix since before Linux even existed (early 1980s), DOS before Windows existed, etc. There has never been an OS that is as reliable, easy to use while also supporting virtually every application you could ever need as MacOS.As an aside, I have tried running LogicProX with 20 - 30 plugins, etc and this sysem didn't even start breathing hard. I also have a Mac Studio for home use, and although that system has the M1 Max CPU with 32 GB of RAM, I don't see much difference between the performance of the systems. There are few workloads this laptop cannot handle.

Review: This machine is a joy to use. Fantastic screen (once you go pro motion you will not want to go back), best laptop keyboard and track pad I have ever used, super snappy with plenty of future proofing and the build quality is flawless.A machine like this is an investment, and this is a good one.

Review: I was debating between M1 & M2 version of the 14.2". I was able get a pretty savings on new product. I know sacrificed a faster and couple others but for what used it for and wanted it had the specs. I considered the new Macbook Air 15" but by time got ram & hard drive I wanted, the Air was more expensive so opted for the Macbook Pro 14.2 M1. If you get one with good saving recommend it. I saved over $500 on M1 from M2. If price close. I might have gone for the M2.

Review: I must apologize for my last review. The touchpad actually works. i just didn't know I need to turn it on in the touchpad setting. As of no USB port, I can buy a converter as the Apple Support advisor suggested, not very convenient but I can live with it.
