Title: thick base for a stemware rack
Review: If you are familiar with Spiegelau, these are not their finest. Still, I find some other customer reviews hard to understand. Rather than thin, they are a bit thicker than expected but definitely acceptable at this price. They arrived intact. They feel a tad lighter than expected and they do not ring as prettily as the best stuff; I take it that "lead-free crystal" explains both of those things. I've had them just a few months and not used them often, but they've gone thru the dishwasher a few times without incident. They are among the tallest wine glasses I have, but my cupboard and dishwasher can handle them, so this is fine with me.The only caveat that I can add: If you have a stemware rack where you hang them from their bases, take note that the base is a bit thicker than any that I've ever placed in the rack. Since my rack hangs from chains rather than being fastened directly to the wall or ceiling, I have to slow down and slide the glass in rather slowly/carefully to avoid discombobulating the whole rack. If these stems were hair's breadth larger, I'd have an issue with the thickness of the bases.All told, a good purchase.
