Title: Great read!
Review: This was a nice mystery/thriller with a steady pace that held my attention throughout. Dr. Beck, after losing his wife, and eight years later, receiving an email that could have only been sent by her, is on a mission to prove she's alive, and find out what happened eight years ago when she was murdered.

Title: Hooks you right away
Review: Dr. Beck's wife was brutally murdered 8 years ago by a serial killer. He's never gotten over it. But now he's receiving cryptic emails that makes him think everything he thought was true is a lie and he's determined to get to the truth no matter what.This is my first Harlan Coben book. I really liked the more casual conversational writing style and enjoyed Beck's character a lot. The set-up hooks you right away and the tension builds really well for the first half of the book.However, once we get our first big twist confirmed - welp, I just got mad at the dead wife character. She was kept way up on a pedestal by out protagonist so when we learn she's a flawed human, I just didn't like her anymore and never recovered. It made me a bit frustrated and the book lost momentum for me.I also felt the ending dragged a bit. Everyone likes twists and turns but I think there can sometimes be too many.And finally, there is something about reading an old book (20+ years) by a now famous author. I feel like it has even more to live up to. Either because expectations are so high or because it's been copycatted so much it doesn't feel as groundbreaking as it once was? I would be willing to read more by this author. I really liked his character building but otherwise I wasn't blown away.

Review: I shouldn't be surprised at all! Harlan Cohen always gets me.This story grabs you from the get go. I usually have to stick around through some chapters before I can connect dots but by chapter five those dots start connecting.The absolute love and dedication Dr. Beck has for his dead wife is a great love story! One that holds him over for 8 years, until he finds out the truth on that fateful night, and can move forward with his life.At the end of every chapter feels like a commercial break before turning g the page for the next chapter.WONDERFUL!!!!!
