Pop-Rock Classic Epitomizes Timeless Early 1970s AM Radio Sounds and Includes Four Top 40 Hits: Bread's Baby I'm-A Want You Features Finessed Playing, Sturdy Melodies, Passionate Harmonies Mastered from the Original Master Tapes and Strictly Limited to 3,000 Copies: Mobile Fidelity Numbered-Edition 180g Vinyl LP Plays with Engrossing Warmth, Nuance, Smoothness, and BalanceSmash 1972 Album Features Four Top 40 Hits: 'Baby I'm-A Want You,' 'Everything I Own,' 'Diary,' and 'Mother Freedom'Any way you slice it, the template for the mellow sounds that dominated AM radio in the 1970s starts with Baby I'm-A Want You. Bread's finest effort stands the test of time by way of the band's sturdy melodies, the former studio professionals' finessed playing, and some of the choicest harmonizing to ever come out of Los Angeles. Anchored by four Top 40 hits, the pop-rock classic radiates with golden-hued textures and pitch-perfect tones - particularly on this long-overdue analog reissue.Mastered from the original master tapes, pressed at RTI, and strictly limited to 3,000 copies, Mobile Fidelity's numbered-edition 180g vinyl LP delivers engrossing levels of warmth, nuance, and smoothness that elevate Bread's 1972 release to audiophile heights. For the first time, the quartet's polished musicianship and vocal blends come across as if you're hearing them happen live in the studio. Previously muddled elements are clarified, and the band's choruses and treble-ringing notes opened up so they can fully blossom, pulling you closer to the combination of serious emotion and comically infused romance. In particular, leader David Gates' quasi-falsetto and other vocal touches get their just due.

Title: Always a Favorite by Bread!!
Review: This is my favorite album of Bread. Not only are the radio hits great, but also the album cuts. I especially like the songs that James Griffin sings. "Down On My Knees" is a great energetic number and so is the mystical "Dream Lady". These are very talented musicians and know how to put together a great album. I would recommend this album to anyone that wants to step outside the greatest hits compilations. I also would recommend "The Guitar Man", which came out later on the same year of 1972.

Title: GREAT ALBUM THANKS TO GRIFFIN
Review: I'm not sure I listened to the same album as some of the other reviewers because I thought the strength of this album were the rockin' tunes, most by James Griffin. His "Down on My Knees" and "Nobody But You" are two great songs that benefited more than any other songs on the album from the presence of one of the greatest muscians of all time, Larry Knectel. His keyboards are stellar and Griffin's grainy voice add life to what would have been a very good album anyway, but they make it even better. David Gates' title track as well as the other Gates contributions are great ballads, except for "Mother Freedom" which is his rocker contribution and very good also. If you are tired of all the music that has been released since the 90s, try out this album for a great chance of pace.

Title: Well done
Review: Although the music is about 45 years old, it doesn't sound all that dated. Really well produced, and not every song sounds the same, unlike most of today's crap.

Title: Music From My Past
Review: I had this "album" when I was about twelve and played it "until it was worn out". Have been looking for it in a CD format for quite a while. So glad I found it! Still love it.

Title: Not bad
Review: This is more of the same when it comes to Bread. It's not a bad album. But I'm not too crazy about it. But if you want the complete Bread collection, you'll want this one.

Review: Mobile Fidelity have produced very high quality recordings since the 70's. The company included SACD pressings in their range more recently since this technology was the best available in producing warmer digital sound compared to CD. The pressing is a prime example of this. The bass is extended and tight and the voice and instrumental sound is well positioned on a silent background. SACD pressings by this company include a well produced CD layer as well. In the case of this release the original master tapes were used to ensure clarity of sound and the packaging is designed to re-create the original release cover. Most looked after mobile fidelity recordings keep their value because they are limited editions and are produced to the highest standard. Well worth the money.
