Title: Eggsactly what I wanted!
Review: When I was a kid we had an aluminum single-egg poacher which I used several times a week. Flash forward 30 years and I'm looking for an egg poacher for my kids to safely use. I first got some of those silicone poachers at Christmas but I had the same problems as everyone else - poor heat transference resulting in unsatisfactory eggs - and my kids almost got steam burns using them. I went searching on Amazon, saw that this poacher was liked the most and I bought it. Wow, this is one of the highest quality items I've ever received that was made in China. The pan and lid are heavy and stay where you put them and the poaching insert has a good Teflon coating. The handle is firmly riveted to the side of the pan and it's long enough that you don't burn your hand over the stove while using it. The handle on the poaching insert is small but since it's aluminum it says pretty cool to the touch - with my Kevlar hands I don't need a pot holder - but the handle on the lid can get pretty hot so use a pot holder for that one. The poacher insert has vents around the edge so it doesn't rattle while the steam escapes and the lid is heavy enough to keep the poacher down in case someone fills the pan too full and floats the insert. My kids are loving using it almost daily, so much so that I just leave it on the stove all the time. If you're only making two eggs, this is so much easier to use than buying and storing a 4-egg insert. It works best if you keep the heat on high until the water is boiling and then turn it down to 4 before you put the egg in. On my stove, 3.5 min makes a loose egg; 4 min makes a cooked but runny egg; and 4.5 min makes a soft but non-runny egg. We are so glad

Title: Perfect eggs!
Review: This is exactly what I was looking for. The poached eggs are perfect and since Iâm the only one that really eats them, it was great to finally find a poached egg cooker for one person.

Title: Handle was loose.
Review: Good quality except for the handle, it was not securely riveted. I didnât mess with the hassle of returning for another, but every time I use it I am sorely reminded.

Title: The +PLUSES and -MINUSES of this pan
Review: My photos show the egg poaching pan I had previously as well as the new one. The new one has some pleasant features. I used a non-stick spray (may not have needed to but in the long run why not?).PLUSES:+The pan lets you easily remove individual cups and "pour" them out. -None sticked!+The ability to cook 6 eggs is a plus.+See through lid+Easy to remove individual pods as they raise-up when you remove the main frame and set it on a counter.+ The center handle to lift the egg tray is actually easier than the black knob found on the other style poacher. It looks like it would be difficult but it is much easier and it remains cooler to the touch..MINUSES:- (This one is very important to know) The reason this pan can cook 6 eggs is because the individual egg cups are DEEPER than on traditional models (as you can see on my old pan pictured). The problem with this is that cooking times have to be longer to cook the inside. This is almost a deal breaker for me. I like my eggs medium well (solid with the SLIGHTEST bit of creamy yoke - not over-easy at all). The old pan "technology" makes the poached eggs a wider shape. The new one is a deeper design. As a result the older pan cooks the eggs much faster (6 minutes compared to 9 minutes with this new pan).- The egg, inside and outside, is is more evenly cooked in the old pan.- Cleaning this one is a little more difficult than on a one-piece egg poacher pan; its not difficult its just not as easy as with the older one.- The handle feels a little cheap but it does dissipate the heat. The end of it is a little sharp.FINAL THOUGHTSI may return it but I am going to give it a few more tries first. I really like that I can very easily dump out each egg compartment. The non-stick egg cups look like the teflon may be better quality. The steam shoots out far in a side-ways direction on this new pan whereas it was more of an upwards steam on the older design. -Just annoying as you have to make sure no salt/pepper or other ingredients are on the counter next to the boiling pot (also other pots on the stove will get wet from steam). The texture of the eggs is the biggest decider. Maybe I am just so used to the old one and need to adapt but it annoys me that it takes 30% longer to cook now. Right now I am 70% going to keep it but its still not a lock.

Title: This is one of my best purchases ever
Review: This is one of my best purchases ever. The stainless pan is nice and heavy and every poached egg comes out perfectly cooked. Another thing I like is that a jumbo egg works great. Previously, in my old poacher, a jumbo egg would overflow and make a mess. The only (very minor) negative is that while the insert is nonstick, It isn't perfectly nonstick. The first egg I did stuck just a little. I had always used a small bit of butter in the insert of my old poacher and do with this one as well. Eggs slide right out. I cook the egg 4 and a half minutes, others might want to make it 5 minutes depending on exactly the amount of doneness you want on the white.

Title: Holes blocked
Review: We have one bought in 2021 and it does an extra large egg perfectly in 4 minutes. With this, same size egg, at 4 minutes the top still had lots of uncorked egg white on top. When we compared the top of the one made in 2021 to this one we found that the old one has two thin ridges around the lid allowing steam to enter the top and cook the egg white while the new one has one wider ridge which completely blocks the steam from coming up and cooking the egg white. When we allow the new one to cook until the egg white on top was cooked the yolk was really firm. Donât buy this if you want a true poach egg.

Review: I love this single egg poacher. My mom and dad had one, but it was ancient and the egg kept sticking to the poacher cup. I thought this was a little bit too much money to pay for a single poacher, but I am glad I purchased it as it seems to be well worth the money. The panhandle stays cool, but the handle on the egg cup does get very hot. I just use a pot holder to remove it after I take the sauce pan off the stove. Iâll ask Alexa to time four minutes and I have a perfect poached egg. I have been using it for about a week now and I have absolutely no complaints. The egg cup washes up beautifully and to me. It is a very sturdy item. I wholeheartedly recommend this poacher.

Review: Cooks eggs fast and well. I had to make a handle (dowel) for the inner part as it gets to hot to handle but otherwise a good poacher.

Review: Single egg poacher works great on my induction hot plate. A thin coat of olive oil via a piece of paper towel lets the egg come out easily with a tap.A year later, while still making great poached eggs, I get even more use out of the pot to warm up a small amount of sauce, soup, etc., making it a great addition to a singles kitchen.
