Title: You might get one use out of it, but a precision instrument it is not.
Review: This is frustratingly close to being a useful tool. I've been through two of them, thinking I may have got a defective one the first time. But no. The pins are spring loaded, and are not dead center in the slots. Perhaps the spring on the main clip is so strong that it deforms the casing and causes misalignment. Either way, when the whole thing is under tension the contacts often catch on the dividing walls instead of snapping neatly into the slots. The barbs on the end of this clip are ULTRA fine; this is necessary as there really isn't much to grab on to with these ICs. However, the plastic material this clip is made from, plus the insanely overpowered clamp spring deforms these barbs into a frayed mess of mushy fibrous plastic after just a couple of attempts.I never got a successful chip read from this clip, despite trying to hold it in place and apply pressure it was not able to remain a physical stable connection for long enough to download the data.Going to try the ponoma clip next, horribly expensive but hopefully better quality.

Title: Easily deforms
Review: This worked great exactly once. After that, the plastic at the tip of the clip started deforming and the pins would no longer set properly. No longer trust it to stay clipped on while programming a flash chip.

Title: Decent product
Review: I would consider this an outstanding product; however, Instead of receiving the 8-pin version, I was given a 16 pin one.

Title: there is no other word i know that describes this better than total POS
Review: Do your self a favor and spend another 6 bucks and get something you wont have a nervous breakdown over when your on hour 12 of trying to keep this lame crap from popping off the smc your trying to flash with one hand because you either have to hold the thing on and even holding it doesnt really do much. The contacts are just straight pins with no barbs to grab with. Im not even going to return it, instead ill wait till the end of days, for the unlikely chance I'll meet someone that made this and bounce it off their forehead. The part I hate most isnt the money i lost, its the fact now I have to wait on another one while my customer only knows that I am responsible. Steer clear of this one.

Title: WASTED MONEY
Review: I purchased this clip to load firmware on several motherboard chips. I was able to get it to work only once. The plastic on the end of the clip wears quickly and won't clip onto the chip anymore. I purchased a more expensive clip and finished the other 11 boards with no problems.
