Title: We have tried them all: these is the best.
Review: We have been using these for many years. They function flawlessly. They are genuinely squirrel-proof so long as you hang them far enough from the pole or wall that the squirrels cannot do their gymnastics and get at the seeds. Occasionally, very occasionally, a baby red squirrel can manage to grab a few seeds, because they are so very light, but the loss in insignificant. Our feeders have been carried off and tossed around by bears several times. They hold up remarkable well to this: you might have to rebend a perch wire or something (assuming you can find all the parts!), but I have never had one get so battered that it could not quickly be repaired. These feeders are even more squirrel-proof than the big boxy roofed feeders with the spring-loaded perches, though the latter do hold more seed. We use both. Anyway, these are the best feeders you can get, and we have tried MANY over the years. They cost more, I understand, but they work great, and they are darn near indestructible.

Title: Well made, seeds stay dry, birds like it, squirrel proof
Review: Hard to fill as it must be removed from the hook and disassembled. The support rod gets in the way and hard not to spill seeds. I made a funnel that fits inside and makes it much easier. Would be a good accessory for the manufacturer to sell. Was fun to watch the squirrels try for about a week before they gave up.It is very well designed and made, I expect it will last a long time

Title: Worth it
Review: I have been battling squirrels in my neighborhood. I’ve tried everything. I saw this and was at the point of I will do anything. The price is worth it. The squirrels tried and failed. I am not going through seeds like crazy. I don’t mind filling it up everyday. It’s super sturdy and super easy to put together and fill. I love how you can adjust the spring to allow bigger birds as well. I know there were reviews that said about the seeds being soaked after rain. I didn’t have that issue. My area had a lot of rain recently and it the water drained and the seeds were not affected too much. Mine is in a Shepard rod out in open space. It’s worth it if you are at your wits end with pesky squirrels

Title: Easy to take apart and clean. Birds love it
Review: This feeder is easily taken apart for cleaning. And it’s quick and easy to take off the outer cage to fill with seed. I have the feeder hanging from a white pine branch amidst a grove of rhododendrons. The trunk of the pine is within squirrel leaping distance. The squirrels did leap upon the cage when I first hung the feeder, but cage slid down, blocking access to safflower seeds. The squirrels apparently learned that they couldn’t get at the seed, and gave up. Stopped leaping onto the feeder. I wish it held more seed - the birds like the feeder (and it’s location amongst the protective rhododendrons) so much that I have to fill the feeder quite often. I don’t mind, it’s easy to fill with seed. And the ventilation system works well, seed remains dry. I use an old toothbrush to brush out seed compartment, but don’t really need to. To wash the feeder I take apart the feeder, fill an plastic container that once held kitty litter with 10 quarts of water, one quart of bleach (not the new concentrated bleach) place the feeder in.I much prefer this feeder to the larger SquirrelBuster Plus which was more difficult/time consuming to take apart, more susceptible to wear and tear, seed did not stay as dry. Of course since the Legacy holds less seed, I refill it more often than the Plus, less chance the seed will get moist. I’ve been through many feeders in the past 30 years, this is the best: most squirrel proof, easiest to clean, easy to fill with seed, very popular with the birds

Title: Happy birds, unhappy squirrels!
Review: The feeder is very good quality and it did frustrate the squirrels. My birds and I are overall very pleased with the purchase. I have one problem that I am not sure how to solve. My hanger for the feeder is on my deck rail and extends out over the yard below. The hook on the bird feeder is triangular and does not easily hook on the curved end of my hanger. It would be better, at least in my case, if the hanging attachment on the feeder was round and would side on easily.

Title: This product does exactly as it says it will do
Review: I have this feeder in use for over a month. In the first few days, the squirrels tried everything they could to access they seed. They were unsuccessful and finally gave up. The little birds took a few days to get used to it, but they are now emptying it every day. The larger birds struggled. The mourning doves have figured it out now, the Blue Jays haven't, but they have other feeders they can go to. I am very impressed with this product. Easy to fill, the birds love, the squirrels don't and we are very happy to watch the birds enjoy. We are particular invested in our cardinals and wondered if they would use it. They do, which makes us happy. I was a bit leery about the expense of this feeder, but it is worth every penny.

Title: Absolutely Works!
Review: This is my second Legacy Squirrel proof feeder - they are very well designed, well made & well backed by Brome, the manufacturer! While squirrel proof, they are not bear proof, and our first one was damaged by Brer Bear who ruined 3 of the feeder’s 4 bright metal bird perches and also put a crimp or 2 in the seed tube’s mesh metal sleeve/shroud. I was able to straighten out the metal sleeve fairly well with a small ball peen hammer; and I will be replacing the bird perches directly from Brome (whose service rep was quite helpful), so I will now have a backup feeder to my new feeder! Highly Recommended!

Review: The best bird feeder I have owned! Keeps the squirrels away from the seed but not the raccoons! Found it on the ground this morning, all the seeds gone. Two raccoons picked it up and somehow managed to remove the protective sheath where the hook is, take it off the stand and drop it to the ground, where they fully enjoyed their feast. To note though, the feeder did not break when it dropped and I was able to reassemble and put back together in no time. Any ideas to help with raccoons? It was placed as instructed 18" from any climbing surface. Definitely worth the purchase!

Review: I didn't think any feeder would resist my squirrels. They have shattered plexiglas, gnawed through wood, and dismantled metal component to get at my bird seeds. I had no more birds feeding in my yard. Enters this magic feeder and my squirrel problem seems nearly resolved. The birds came back very quickly: blue jays, cardinals, and chikadees use the feeder a lot so far. I'm so happy. These feeders are expensive but, if they last, they are really worth it. Thinking of getting a few more. 🙂

Review: This feeder is very well built and does the job it’s intended to do. The squirrels ate two previous feeders and depleted the bird seed daily. This feeder has the squirrels stymied…….

Review: This is a well made feeder, strurdy, squirrel proof, I have two negative commentairies, one is there are only 4 feeding ports which limits the number of birds visiting, and two: the main bin does not contain enough seeds. My original impression was at holding 2.5 lbs of seed, I thought that would be plenty. However, I don't think that it actually holds 2.5 lbs of seed. I expect to have to fill it daily this winter because where I live, the bin will be emptied quickly on a cold winter day.
