#1 WALL STREET JOURNAL NATIONAL BESTSELLER
Right now, 70% of Americans aren’t passionate about their work and are desperately longing for meaning and purpose.
They’re sick of “average” and know there’s something better out there, but they just don’t know how to reach it.
One basic principle—The Proximity Principle—can change everything you thought you knew about pursuing a career you love.
In this book, The Proximity Principle, national radio host and career expert Ken Coleman provides a simple plan of how positioning yourself near the right people and places can help you land the job you love.
Forget the traditional career advice you’ve heard!
Networking, handing out business cards, and updating your online profile do nothing to set you apart from other candidates. Ken will show you how to be intentional and genuine about the connections you make with a fresh, unexpected take on resumes and the job interview process. You’ll discover the five people you should look for and the four best places to grow, learn, practice, and perform so you can step into the role you were created to fill.
After reading The Proximity Principle, you’ll know how to connect with the right people and put yourself in the right places, so opportunities will come—and you’ll be prepared to take them.

Title: A very good book to grab to grow!
Review: This is a great read by an interesting author. You might see the title or cover and think not to get this book because you don't want to change careers, etc. and this doesn't apply to me, you will say. Well, it's a great book to learn and to grow from and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to plain just get better in life. It's for every situation. I lost my job due to the Covid 19 of today and I am looking for work these days, and at 50 years old now on top of that, where it's a pretty interesting situation I am in. I was doing a great job at my last employment. But it ended and it wasn't because I screwed up and was let go because I was a bad graphic designer. I guess that's life as an artist, right? I do have the talent, but I just need now the opportunity to continue on. This book teaches you how to find that opportunity in easy to understand words by this author with a little bit of salt and pepper to make it more flavorful, so to speak. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to earn an edge on the job market and continue to be successful. This book is about that. It will give you a blueprint that is smart. I want to stay in this wonderful field I was/am in because I love it. It will happen ASAP. The Proximity Principle Book will get me to that glorious finish line. Thank you Ken Coleman.

Title: The Summer Must Read
Review: It took me over a month to read because this is not an ordinary book. This is a book that requires you to take notes and soak in all the information that he has to offer you. He shows you how to get to the right people and places. He lays it out step by step in each Chapter. I call this a Summer must-read because he will show you how to get ahead in your current career. This is quite a page-turner. There was nothing I did not like about this book because this was a book that it was easier to take notes on. I had this on a Kindle so I did so much copying and pasting that there did come a time that you were limited. So, my suggestion also is have a hard copy of the book because you will need it for highlighting and taking notes. There were so many quotes I loved in the book. Here's a quote from his book: "traditional networking events are not an effective venue for making worthwhile connections. These events are designed to give job seekers the opportunity to meet business professionals in the hopes that you will hit it off and make such a great first impression that it will lead to a job interview. It's like speed dating for business."

Title: easy and informative read
Review: finished reading it in maybe 4ish hours. really encouraging with step by step instruction on how to improve not just your âday jobâ prospects but how to strategically get to your dream job. loads of examples from all kinds of walks of life, even personal ones from his own experiences. very helpful, with his own resources mentioned here and there to help execute whatever step of the principle he illustrates. itâs a common sense principle, he even admits, and heâs not pretending to be groundbreaking. his tone is genuinely helpful and encouraging, not self-plugging or condescending. really enjoyed it and will definitely be trying out his strategies.

Title: Practical
Review: I found the book to be practical and a potential source of encouragement. But, for me, I didn't find it to be highly motivational. Worth the read and possibly a part of the process in helping someone find their professional purpose.

Title: Potential Life Changer
Review: For nearly 5 years now (literally), I have been actively searching for a new job. I've practically made a second career out of creating resumes, writing cover letters, and using all those "number-one-job-sites" to contact people I didn't know, in places I didn't know; giving up on any thoughts of a dream job or just a new job in the process.I pre-ordered this book on a Sunday, it shipped Monday, and I received and completed it that Tuesday. I literally could not put it down. It hit me right where I was in my career-hunting "process," and gave me a glimpse of hope for the future with practical steps and things to do to press on.If you're in a similar spot, I not only encourage you to buy and read this book, I suggest you check out Ken's website (kencoleman.com) for more resources on how to get into a job you love.

Title: Very informative and succinct.
Review: I enjoyed reading this book because it was very straightforward and to the point. I learned a lot of things that I haven't intentionally applied to my career goals. Furthermore, it was a quick read and very easy to understand. I have read a good number of career books that I never bothered looking at the action plans (to do's) at the end of each chapter because they were just too cumbersome and time-consuming. This book is different, in that the action plans after each chapter are short and concise.

Review: There are many nuggets of wisdom in this book. I like that the author has a Christian background and this comes through some of the chapters. I would recommend it.
