"Melinda's reinvention of herself isn't without its bumps, making her a relatable heroine whom readers will want to follow to her next adventure." – Publishers Weekly

She’s back in her hometown for a season. But is she searching for a reason to stay?

Downsized from her stellar career at a big-city ad agency, Melinda is already at a crossroads when a phone call brings her back to her rural roots. It’s not long before she moves to the country, takes on a rundown farm and its headstrong animals, and lands behind the counter of her family’s hardware store in the community of Prosper, whose motto is “The Great Little Town That Didn’t.”

And just like the sprawling garden she tends under the summer sun, Melinda begins to thrive. But when storm clouds arrive on her horizon, can she hold on to the new life she’s worked so hard to create?

Filled with memorable characters, from a big-hearted farm dog to the weather-obsessed owner of the local co-op, “Growing Season” celebrates the twists and turns of small-town life. Discover this heartwarming series that’s filled with new friends, new beginnings and second chances!

Title: Enchanting!
Review: I'm always reading facts and reality. I just couldn't get into fiction. I came across this book, and I'm hooked! How wonderful to find an author who can bring you into the most endearing world. No bad words or gross situations. Just perfect. And anyone who longs for country life, it's like living there and being part of the community. I can't wait to read the rest of the series! To get out of this real world of chaos and into this other wor!d of kindness, animals, and crops etc... I finally found an author I like! Next year if all goes to p!an, I'll be back to the small town I love. But this town I read of, is a great town to live in, in my head and heart. Very grateful.

Title: A heartwarming story of growing as a person.
Review: I loved the book! The plot is so very interesting and keeps your attention. Prosper sounds like a wonderful place to live and to grow up.I do have to say that I was shocked when I read the author's credentials! There are a lot of errors that should have been caught in editing! Some serious research would be a great benefit for this author. Some examples follow:•Natural gas is not provided in a tank!! It comes through a pipe and is delivered through a meter to the building. PROPANE gas is delivered by a truck, stored in a tank on the property and refilled as needed.•Cable and internet are rarely available in a spot as remote as the farm in this book! Prosper is too small to support a grocery store, police department or high school. The residents mostly live on remote farms. Wires for that are costly and usually not provided. Some remote areas have satellite internet available using a "dish".•A Buffet does not have a glass top though some people do place mirrors on the wall above. It is used exactly as its name states, a buffet to serve food. A China cabinet has a glass-front top piece that holds dishes.•Strawberries do NOT grow in clusters!•Bended is NOT a word. The correct word is bent!•One does not go AT an auction but rather, they go TO an auction. They are AT an auction once they arrive! As I previously stated, this is a great book. I thoroughly enjoyed the book but cringed at some of these glaring errors. Literature should always be as close to perfect as humanly possible since the written words will be a around long after we are gone. We have no excuse to leave a legacy of slouchiness or ignorance. Ms Lageschulte has tremendous potential but I recommend she hire an outside editor since it is difficult for people to catch their own errors.

Title: A Feel Good Story
Review: I really enjoyed this book. Read it in just three and a half hours. I enjoy a good "Cozy read". It is not easy to be nearly twenty years into a career and suddenly have the rug pulled out from under you. Thirty-nine is sort of a "trama/drama" year for many people and to get laid off at that age, especially when the economy is flat and prospects are slim to none. Naturally Melinda would have some concerns about accepting the offer to help her Aunt and Uncle...what if she gets an offer for a job in her chosen profession...does she leave her family in the lurch? Then she is not a "farm girl". But you have to hand it to her, she takes on the challenge and finds something more than just a job and a roof over her head.Yes this is a departure from many of the contemporary fiction of today...no murder...no blant sex...no evil villains...Just a nice cozy, feel good story. If I want drama and stress in my life, I watch the news. There were some editing errors but all in all a good page turner...looking forward to reading more about Melinda and Prosper.

Title: such a cozy story
Review: Really enjoyed this small town tale of coming home again. I only gave it three stars because I felt like it was entirely too long for what it was. Author is great at making you feel a part of the story and description but it’s entirely too much detail at times. Will continue reading the series for sure.

Title: It's in the details
Review: Melinda doesn't just lose her job. We watch her as she walks painfully through the H. R. interview, the return to claim her personal items, telling her friends... Every excruciating detail let's us know just what's happening in Melinda's life. The same holds true as her life changes and we follow her moment to moment in her transition from city life to country living. My only concern was timing. I wasn't always sure what "several weeks" or "a few months" meant or where we stood in time. Perhaps there's more summer in the Midwest than where I live? 😉 Despite the calendar issue, I enjoyed following Melinda's personal journey of growth and change.

Title: This is not for anyone who likes a riveting book! But, it is informative!
Review: I read all the books in the series in order. This is a romance. It is about a mid-age woman and her life change after being laid off from her dream job. What I enjoyed were all the characters, who were not perfect. I enjoyed the small town feel that I would like to think are most small towns. How everyone worked together. I learned a lot about farming and country life. I grew up in the big city in Los Angeles County. I have always said I'm a smalltown gal in the big city. I loved the young and the old relationships. I miss all my elders that are not here anymore, and it reminded me of so many of them. If you love family and the trials that happen in small town America, then you may just love this series as much as I did!

Title: Growing Season
Review: Wonderful story of a lost job and great renewal. Main character although a 30 plus year old, grew into a wonderful woman who realized she could do a wonderful job no matter where she lived.

Review: I loved everything about this book. The character was totally believable and easy to relate to. The storyline was not your usual girl-returns-to-small-town plot, which was refreshing and enjoyable. Of course, I need to get the next book because I can't stop wondering what's next. So, even though it wasn't stressful/suspenseful at all, it was a wonderful read and I'm looking forward to more!

Review: Lovely feel good book. Very comfortable to read. Great description of life in a small farm seen through the eyes of a beginner. Lovely tale of animals who you grow to love and really care about. The author is new to me but I shall read anything else she has written. Thoroughly enjoyed this book.
