Title: âHumans by nature are problem solversâ â inventions that once were just ideas!
Review: Author Bill OâNeill has authored many books on Trivia and is an expert in this field! His topics include movies, football, baseball, wars, rock music, simply random trivia facts, US States, famous events in modern history, and now Amazing Inventions That Changed the World. With a nod to providing interesting reading material while passing the time at home, Bill offers a cascade of facts and stories that challenge credibility while thoroughly entertaining.Providing an overview of the topics of interest in this book, Bill outlines his content in the Introduction â âThe very human ability to solve a problem or address a need is often found at the start of the ten inventions covered in this book.â In an amazingly interesting fashion, Bill presents the significant inventions of paper, the compass, the printing press, the steam engine, electricity, vaccines (Very timely!), refrigeration, the airplane, penicillin and the computer â ten inventions that we all take for granted now, and Bill explains the process of each, adding his âDid You Knowâ facts that make each discussion complete. Not only is the book entertaining â it is also very instructive. For those familiar with Bill OâNeillâs talent for tickling the brain, this book is a must read â one of his best. Title: This Is An Interesting Excellent Book.
Review: This is an interesting excellent book about inventions and their effects, I liked this book because I learned some new facts that I did not know before reading this book. Some of the interesting information mentioned by the author of the book in this book include the following information: Benjamin Franklin's son died of smallpox. He had wanted his son to receive a controversial treatment to give him protection against smallpox, but his wife was against it. Benjamin Franklin regretted having given into his wife's fear the rest of his life. It caused them to live apart a long time as a result. When you stand in the spot of magnetic north holding a compass, the needle will spin circle. This is because it is trying to find the magnetic north, but the magnetic north is in all directions at that spot. By 1925, only 50% of U.S. homes were electrified. It was not until the 1950s that all areas of the U.S. had electricity. The first refrigerator for household use started production in the year of 1913. As of the year of 2020, China was the number one maker of paper in the world, producing 104.35 million tons that year.

Title: So many great inventions to read about!!
Review: Excellent presentation on 10 developments and inventions. Discussion includes historic background including needs for advancement of civilization, uses by different societies and the inspiration that brought the invention about. Each Invention is followed by a unique "Did you know?" summary of events related to that invention. A great read because one can easily get from one invention to the other via the index, and in some cases a particular invention suggests going back and reviewing what said about another. It could be classified as a "Forever book" allowing the reader to go back and forth easily. He leaves out the greatest invention--his own style of research and presentation!!!

Review: Idea is great. Well written, clear text but I do not think the text alone will keep my grandsons attention. Front cover is colourful and 'fun' and has great appeal.Inside, only one not very interesting line drawing at the beginning of every chapter.NOT very AMAZING!Bought for 6 and 9 year old boys.
