Netbell Bell Controller to Activate Tones for Existing Public Address (PA) Systems

If your PA system has tone generator built into the system AND THE SYSTEM HAS CONTACT CLOSURE TONE ACTIVATION FUNCTION. You can use any Netbell bell controller to activate and schedule the tones. The relays in the Netbell controller act as simple closure switches, which means you can activate different tones depending on the number of relays your Netbell unit has. For instance, a Netbell-2 can activate two tones, while a Netbell-8 can handle eight.

Use Cases

Using Netbell Bell Controller for Valcom V-2001A Page Control Unit

The Valcom V-2001A comes with two built-in sounds. you can simply use the Netbell bell controller to activate and schedule the Valcom V-2001A sounds. Using a 2-ply stranded wire to connect the Valcom unit to the Netbell bell controller. Connect one side of the wire to the desired tone terminals. The other side of this wire should then be connected to one of the relay outputs of the Netbell controller.

Using a Netbell Bell Controller for Bogen PCM 2000 Control Programming Unit

The Netbell bell controller can be used for existing Bogen system as long as you have a PCM CPU module. To wire Netbell controller to Bogen PCM 2000, wire one side of the Netbell output to PCM 2000 EM/SC terminal, wire the other side of the Netbell output to GND. Once you’ve wired the Netbell to the PCM CPU module, you’ll need to program the Bogen built-in tones for which you should refer to the PCMCPU module manual. Once done, you can effortlessly schedule and activate tones using the Netbell bell controller.

Using Netbell Bell Controller for Viking Tone Generator

Integrating the Netbell bell controller to a Viking tone generator is straightforward. All you need is a 2-ply stranded wire. Connect one end to the TONE SELECTION terminal (based on your tone choice) and the other end to the SELECT COM terminal. The other side of this wire should then be connected to one of the relay outputs of the Netbell bell controller.

With the built-in calendar based bell scheduling, you can set up automated drills for fire, live shooter, and tornado warnings, this ensures that employees are regularly trained on how to respond to these emergencies. And right on schedules, the facility is filled with the sound designated for each drill, reminding everyone it’s time to practice, prepare, and stay alert.

Title: No Issues
Review: I found this product easy to setup and reliable thus-far. I'll update this review if I run into issues, so far though - everything has worked as advertised. This is the cheapest IP bell controller I was able to find, all things considered I am more than happy with the unit.

Title: Does not do its only job
Review: I had high hopes for this. It keeps really terrible time (basically it's only job) and RTC adjustments have not fixed the issue. The NTP just randomly completely stops working for seemingly no reason until a reboot. We have a number of other different devices on the network that have no problem with NTP syncing so not sure why this devices just stops working. Very little help their tech support. On the latest firmware version and the unit has not anywhere close to being too hot. If I wanted a bell the rings at the wrong times I would have bought one of those $6.00 timers from Walmart. Very disappointing.

Review: Excellent product. Was up and running within minutes with it! Now, a year later, I called them for support because it stopped working properly. Title: Easy to use
Review: I plugged it in downloaded the software to "Find" the device on my network. Once I did that I logged into the IP website and configured the device. Website was so easy to use I was able to turn it over to our HR department for them to manage it with no worries.

Title: This thing is great!
Review: I used this to run break bells for out production facility. Its great ... Uses POE to run. Clock syncs with NTP. Website lets me setup as many bells I what. Lets me adjust duration of each bell. Gave website to production manager and they have change the bells as needed. Not complicated. I have 4 at different plants ... Ill never go back. Title: Great Network Bell Controller
Review: Installation was smooth and easy. The relay connectors are detacheable AND plenty large to accommodate large wire gauges. You should be able to fit up to 12 gauge without issue. My unit arrived with the latest firmware installed. The firmware upgrade process does not appear to be as straight forward as some network peripherals as it requires a Windows program to perform upgrades—it does not appear to be upgradable through the web interface. Programming the bell schedule and various settings was easy through the web interface is easy and I was able to train my client on use in a few minutes. It's been working without issue controlling a 6" 24v AC factory bell for about 2 weeks now. I highly recommend this module.
