The essence of folk art is to tell a story about the people, the culture, and their history in a unique way. Eric has been painting folk art for over 20 years, visiting famous cities like Paris, London, Sydney, Venice, and Bermuda. But since the world is much bigger, see what other cities you recognize in the painting that only you might know like: Whistler, Bristol, and Peggy’s Cove. Become a traveler and experience the stories only through Eric’s folk art in the Best of the World.

Each Dowdle premium jigsaw puzzle started out as an original piece of art by world renowned Folk Artist, Eric Dowdle. In each painting, Eric provides a unique look at the places he’s been to and the people he’s met along the way. With his signature style of storytelling, the people and places he visits come to life right in your home. Within each painting, are little Easter eggs representing fun facts about the location he painted or a funny story from his own life. By showing his love for the people, places and iconic landmarks from all over the world, Eric makes each image engaging, personal, and fun.
We are committed to providing the highest quality products in “Bringing people together one puzzle at a time.” To enable this, we offer a “No Missing Pieces” policy where we will replace your puzzle with a new bag of pieces of the same title, since we can’t replace an individual piece. Why? Our puzzles are cut in seven different ways, helping make every puzzle a fun and personal experience for you to remember.
Built in the USA as a lightweight sturdy tray with a higher edge, our puzzle trays make it easier to build your favorite puzzle or move it around the house while keeping your puzzle intact. Once you find the perfect spot, building the puzzle is easy thanks to this smooth workspace. The best part though is its size. Our 16”x20” tray holds piece sizes 100, 300, & 500 and our 19.25”x 26.625” board holds 1000 pieces. Now you’ll never have to guess where to put the edges of your Dowdle puzzle! About the Artist: Eric Dowdle
God, family, country — those are the three words often paired with folk artist Eric Dowdle. His whimsical, patriotic art stirs nostalgic and cheerful emotions for what makes our vast world intimate and extraordinary. Rich rural landscapes of homes and farms, cityscapes featuring customs and foods, playful families and the traditions that keep them together are all common features in a Dowdle painting. Fluffy “Dowdle clouds” and sculpted “Dowdle mountains” are signature icons that can be found in most pieces Eric paints. A closer look at the art reveals playful stories that reflect the particular piece’s history. Eric will also often add a name or icon to reflect events that took place as he painted that particular piece. Exploring the details of a Dowdle painting is a great adventure.

Title: Intricate puzzle, fantastic details
Review: This is one of the most interesting puzzles we have put together in a while. The details make it enjoyable as almost each piece has something of note on it. That is also the challenge as the images are so small the reference picture is almost too small to assist. I took the picture and made a larger copy for easier reference. Like most Dowdle puzzles there were pieces missing. This more than most, as five pieces were missing. However, it did not diminish the fun of putting it together. If you like geography, travel or just a challenging puzzle I highly recommend it.

Title: Fun but challenging
Review: The puzzle was challenging. It took a lot of organization to set up the pieces but made it easier to complete. The picture that came with the puzzle needed to be bigger. It was hard to identify areas of the puzzle. Ended up using me cell phone camera to low up the picture. We have done several Dowdle puzzles, they are really well made and the picture is stunning.

Title: Great puzzle but need a larger photo
Review: The puzzle is great fun - but!... you really need the photo a bit to complete which is fine And thatâs the issue- the photo is so small that you have to strain your eyes (I have the BEST lighting too - just sayin) found even using a magnifying glass was strainingNeed a larger photo

Title: This one was hard to do....
Review: I had a love/hate relationship with this puzzle. I love Eric Dowdle puzzles! I've done San Francisco, Washington D.C., and Las Vegas. This one looked particularity difficult and it was because because all the continents are yellow. I usually put the landmarks, people, landscaping, etc. in different piles but my cunning pile strategy was thwarted with this one. It made me crazy so I plowed through it in a week. Can't wait to be made crazy by this one again.

Title: Too difficult even for the accomplished "puzzler"
Review: The pieces are incredibly small and the print not legible - even with a magnifying glass, my husband and I were unable to see the print well enough to enable us to work the puzzle. We got the outer edge 99% complete but after a week, finally gave up on the rest.
