Tucker McCade has known violence his whole life: orphaned in a massacre, abused as a "half-breed" child, trained as a ruthless Texas Ranger, he's learned the hard way that might makes right.
So even he is shocked when he falls for Sally Mae, a Quaker nurse. Unable to resist Tucker's charm, character and chiseled body, she throws herself into their torrid affair, indulging every one of her wildest sexual fantasies. Tuckerï¿¿ï¿¿s occupation, however, is the one thing about him she can't embrace. A staunch pacifist, Sally Mae can't understand how his strong, caressing hand can clench in fury or pull a trigger to take a life.
In this lawless land, Tucker knows you have to fight to survive. But when Sally Mae becomes pregnant, he's willing to do whatever it takes to have his family - including hanging up his guns.
Every night they spend together exploring new heights of ecstasy binds them ever closer, slowly erasing their differences...until the day Tucker's past comes calling, precipitating an explosive showdown between her faith, his promise, and the need for revenge.

Title: Thee are not going to like how she speaks in thy book
Review: One of my absolute favorite authors and the Hell's Eight series is awesome. Such a well written book with great depth in the characters and some of the hottest love scenes ever written. My only complaint is the dialog and how Sallie speaks. I get that she's a Quaker and all but her dialog in the book drove me nuts with 'Thee' and 'Thy' - it just didn't work for me - like nails on a chalkboard. I had to skim the parts where she spoke because it was starting to ruin a really great story. There was a couple times when she would use a modern reference in the dialog that seemed out of place and then start up with 'thee' and 'thy' again. Either way, this is the 3rd book in a super hot series so don't pass them up. Can't wait for Tracker's story in 2010!

Title: Thou shalt not put thee pecker in my butt
Review: I was not so thrilled with this one as I have thoroughly enjoyed the others. Let me think....I like the great sex in the stories but we all know realistically, it didn't go down like tht back then. And butt sex wasn't even popular back then, unless u were a homo, raped, or whore. And if u were doin it, u damn sure kept it a secret. So why is it an obsession for these men in this series. It's like their biggest sexual desire. And how the women just love it. Enough with the butt sex already. Lets b real...if they did do the Hershey thing...they had more thn a climax to wash off those sheets.. And don't evn think of touching me after u had ur finger up my butt. Unless he's holding tht hand up and out of the way for the rest of the act. Wht, no running water? They should all have raging UTIs. Just sayin. Besides a Quaker havin butt sex, come on. It's probably considered a sin if a Quaker woman has a climax with her husband missionary. Tht SallieMae was just plain annoying.

Title: Don't judge a book by some bad reviews!
Review: I usually avoid reading reviews until I have read the book myself. But when I first started reading Sarah McCarty's books, I was hooked! I had to see if buying the rest of the series was worth it. It was a review on Audible that got me avoiding this book in the series for a long time.It said something along the line of Sally Mae's "Thee, Thou, Thy" being used poorly (A fact) and it had ruined the book for that particular reader. It didn't for me. Sally Mae's character was lovable, kind, sexy, and multidimensional like all of SM's heroins. They are strong characters, sassy, funny, and the perfect fit for their man.Her books are not the usual kind of romance. There is an engaging and complex plot (something missing from from most romances novels). There is a continuity and logic to why everything happens. The characters are SO lovable.Like her previous two installments, Cain's Reckoning and Sam's Creed, this is a must read for western romance novel lovers!

Title: Short and sweet review.
Review: HELLS' EIGHT SERIES-Tucker's ClaimBook:3By: Sarah MccartyIn order: Caine's Reckoning, Sam's Creed, Tuckers Claim, Trackers Sin, Shadows Stand, Caden's View. This first book is a serious, period piece set in the 1858-Texas territory, that does turn into a page turner, this will tug on your heart strings , Tucker grew up an outcast thinking he is unworthy of love, and then an unlikely pair will meets when two hearts need healing. Sex Erotica! I moved on to this next book with high expectation. And it did not disappoint! I absolutely recommend this book, this series is so well written, I am certain this will become one of my favorites!PS...I have already started Trackers sin, and can't put it down! I'll let you know!

Title: McCarty Does it Again!
Review: I wasn't sure I'd like Tucker's Claim. I'm not sure why but the concept of a Quaker love interest with one of the Hell's Eight didn't seem far possible to me. McCarty once again made a believer out of me! Sallie is believable and it is very easy to crawl into her skin. I enjoyed the depth added to this story of pacifism versus the total cowboy/warrior idea of the old west. Once again the sex is smokin' and you can hear the bootsteps on the floor as she spins the scene. I read this book in two days and will have to do a re-read because the Hell's Eight editions cannot come out fast enough for me! Thank you Sarah for another GREAT read!

Title: Sally and Tucker
Review: I had pre-ordered it and then was a bit discouraged when someone on a mailing list complained about the use of thee and thou and how Ms. McCartney got it wrong. I won't profess to being great with that sort of stuff, so I wasn't sure and to this day, I haven't been able to find out whether they were used in the correct form of not. I liked this book as much as Caine and Desi's and slightly better than Sam's - there is something about Sam's heroine who just irked me...the relationship development between Sally and Tucker was fairly true to life of how I would think a courtship in this case might happen and Ms McCartney touched on some heavy issues of the time. i am curious about the use of sex toys in the book and if they truely existed...can't wait for Tracker and Ari's book (which I believe is the next one)

Title: Best of the Series
Review: I really enjoyed this book. I think the chemistry between Tucker and Sally Mae is real and convincing. I know there has been some criticism about all the "thees" and truthfully, that can be annoying but after awhile I just automatically started inserting "you" or "your" when needed. The "thees" are not a fatal flaw. This is still a 5 star book so don't let that stop you from getting this book.In my opinion, it is the best of the Hell's Eight series and second only to Promises Linger, which I think is Sarah McCarty's best book.Dena

Title: Wonderful
Review: These are great. I like the story line and the romance. I can't wait to get all of the series. Sarah McCarty keeps on pins and needles waiting for the next book to be released. I usually try to read each one again before a new book comes out so that the story line is fresh in my mind.
