Title: Very Pleased
Review: This is a very good, low end scanner. This is my "go to" scanner, which I use mostly for documents and pictures. I have had this scanner for several years, so I am not sure if this model is still available. Even if it is available, I think the price has increased substantially. I paid around $70.I recommend you experiment with the scanner's user interface to find the settings that work best for the types of scanning you do. Once you find the settings you like, document them.Pro:Compared to other scanners I have used, this scanner does a good job with shaded areas using low DPI.At low DPI, very fast scans.I have been very pleased with black & white and color pictures. Extremely close to the original, even when blown-up in photo editing. For sepia-toned pictures, I use color.GREAT size for traveling.Cons:The connecting cord (for data transfer and power), has sometimes lost connection due to slight jostles. It is better now that I connected it to a tight-fitting USB port which is then connected to the computer. For small pictures (4x6, 5.7, etc.), I could never get the scanner to just pick up the picture. I now just scan all pictures at 8.5 x 11 and crop them in my photo editor. Orientation can also be flakey, so I again use the photo editor to rotate as needed.

Title: Doesn't Come with Manual or Software
Review: Every scanner I've ever owned has come with either an instructions sheet or a user manual and software. This one came with nothing but the device and a micro to USB cable. I found this unusual. While I'm all for saving trees, I would have preferred if Epson included at least an info sheet with info on where to download the manual and driver software. Of course, this is not difficult to find on the Epson website. But some instructions would still have been appreciated. Not everyone is tech savvy. My thoughts regarding this device after about 30 document scans:Pros:* Scanner is lightweight* Powered by laptop/computer; doesn't require a separate power cord* Easy to use* Good quality document scans* Can remove lid (great for creative scans)* Can scan directly to Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.Cons:* Doesn't scan both sides of documents (you have to individually scan each page which can be time consuming)* Could be faster* Older cable (most computers are using USB-C now)Tip for Mac laptop users: If your Mac has USB-C ports, get a "USB-C to Micro USB cable" to directly connect your Mac to the scanner. The cable costs about $5-8.

Title: Great Scanner
Review: I used this to scan a whole bunch of old pictures, and it worked great. I read some reviews that weren't too big on this scanner, but I didn't notice anything wrong. It is fast and responsive with great results. The only thing is I wouldn't use the Epson software it suggests in the instructions because it's kind of cheap. Use the Epson Scan 2 software that you can download with their ET-4760 printer -- both programs are free so try them both.

Title: A sleek, high-resolution scanner that is simply useless at what it's supposed to do
Review: The scanner is slim, light; the included stand is a genius space-saver; the colors and scan resolution are great. So why the 1 star? There are 7 evenly-spaced missing "bars" of pixels on every scan. (on my second photo I only show 5 of them, because that was not full page)These are not just one missing pixel column either. In my first attached photo, that sample was scanned at 1200dpi (1/4 the scanner's max resolution) and there are already 4 columns of pixels missing from each instance. At full resolution, I missed a whopping 16 pixels. This is totally noticeable on magazine scans, where it intefered with the halftone pattern. On photo scans, it cuts through people's faces - especially on group photos - and cause them to lose eyes and noses. These are not from the gear slipping (because they are vertical, perpendicular to the sensor bar). These are not one-off defect either, because I ordered a replacement (Amazon is awesome) and both scanners have the exact same missing columns. Not sure why something like this was "designed" in.Another, initially thought to be minor, but turned out quite a bit of an annoyance, is the fact that the anchor corner on the scanner glass is not true corner. If you put your document flush against the edges of the glass (like anyone who wants their scan to be well-aligned would do), you would miss about 1.5mm of content. That's a lot of content in a 4"x6" photo. This is the first scanner I have used that did not scan the edges of documents flushed against the edges of the glass. The result? You'll have to position your photo at some distance from the edges of the scanning glass edges, and will almost certainly have to straigthen the resulting scanned images later (because unless you have superman vision, there's no way you can perfectly put your photo perpendicular to the edges without touching them). With those 2 flaws, this is only good for scanning documents. If I just needed a document scanner, then there's no reason to buy this one. Most all-in-ones at half this price can scan at 600dpi fast, which is more than good enough for documents. This V19, however, is clealy targeted toward people scanning photos and magazines, whom their all-in-ones cannot match. With the missing pixels, the 4800dpi resolution is totally unusable.

Title: Light weight and Fast
Review: This scanner was fast and easy to set up and use. I have some photos in very old albums and couldn't remove the photos because removing the photos would tear them. I scanned full album pages. Being able to remove the lid of the scanner made this task quick. The other features I find useful is the choice of formats available (pdf, jpeg, etc.) The scanner can Auto Crop to make 4 photos on a page scanned separately or you can keep it as a full page scan. Saving options are numerous as well. The quality of the photos or scanned documents is phenomenal. I love the fact that it's powered via USB connection and the cord is long enough to make it convenient.

Review: My previous EPSON Scanner, "Perfection V30", finally gave up the ghost leaving me in a position to replace it with a new product. I was satisfied with the V30 so went back to EPSON for a replacement. I have had the "Perfection V19II" for a couple of weeks now and have found it to be much easier to use, a smaller unit overall, with plenty of features for a Home Office environment. The quality of the scans is excellent and are easily saved in a file of your choosing. I'm still adapting to the fact there is NO "On/Off Button" on the V19II; it starts & stops once the enclosed USB Cable is attached or detached from the unit. The software is intuitive and easy to follow & engage. Overall, I would rate the "V19II" a better product than the V30 in terms of size, ease-of-use and intuitiveness. The EPSON "Perfection V19II" is a great addition to any Home Office and ideal for the "Work-from-Home" individual.

Review: Software is so easy to use, and scanner is very compact so takes up little space. If I knew there I was another model that allows for scanning film negatives, I would have purchased that instead. But the V19 is amazing for the price!

Review: I will be using it to submit expenses to insurance in view of the mail strike. I am a novice in using the scaning technology so the use of one or two buttons to get the job done is amazing. The five star rating could easily be doubled if that was possible.
