Title: A great way to learn new languages
Review: I got the lifetime subscription around Christmas time and combined with other resources (easy reading materials, watching Youtube videos and music or podcasts in your target language and getting a dictionary which is recommend regardless how you go about learning a language) , this really helped with my French and right now focusing on learning Spanish (also sometimes dabble in Japanese, Korean and Mandarin). It doesn't have every language; but does have a lot of the most common and popular ones which is great as other programs don't always have Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, etc.... My biggest piece of advice is that really should get a headset with a microphone to really pick up when you speak. This is the most frustrating part, especially for beginners; but not their fault per say as this is a common issue with almost every program/app. Lessons are broken up by grammar, vocab, writing (at least the web version) and speaking. I am not sure for every language; but some lessons do have translations if you click on it which is useful; but overall, the first lessons are probably easy to figure out as they usually just have a word for animals, people, food, numbers, etc....with pictures. It will get more complex though as you continue,. But if you write it down and use a dictionary (even free online ones such as Papago or DeepL), it can really help you out a lot. Practice, exposure (why I suggesting reading and listening) and consistency is key to learning a new language. This can also be a good aid when taking courses. The lessons will even tell you how well you did and if you passed them or not. Another issue though is that you do have to get around a 90% to pass. While you can just go back over lessons and should if there is something you are struggling with before moving on to the next unit, it can be a bit time consuming at times. The lifetime version was worth it as I can use it for as long as want and switch back and forth between any of the languages that they do have. It used to be extremely expensive in the past; though pretty reasonable now, especially when there is a holiday sale.

Title: Missing some Essential Features
Review: I purchased the Lifetime version of Rosetta Stone and overall I am mostly pleased eith my purchase, however I do feel the software lacks in some areas. I don't think you can learn some languages just from this software alone. I suggest combining it with other resources. Even if this were a perfect software I woukd always suggest doing this for better learning, however, I do feel it is necessary for Rosetta Stone because of what it lacks, context.A few features I woudk suggest that can help learning tremendously is as follows:When logged into Rosetta Stone we shoukd be able to review a list of words we have learned in each of the languages we have done courses in. As we do a course the new words given to us should be added there and there shoukd be an audio button by each word to help us hear it and to practice saying it. This also makes it easy to make flash cards. I like making flash cards to practice from and I like to make myself write the words out so I can practice spelling. It is hard to do if I can onky get the words by stopping mid lesson to jot them down. This interrupts my learning.I also feel it is easy to include PDF files for every lesson done thst gives us a printout we can print of flashcards. Not all of us use flashcards but it is just a PDF file and easy to add in there as an option along with the words list I suggested. We should have a grammar pdf file for almost all of our lessons the tunlcoks after we do th3 lesson. Thsi will go over rules and be a short and sweet list of just the grammar rules that applies to the lesson we just learned. This helps with conjugation and parts of speech etc because Rosetta has no context so at some point we go from learning to a lesson thst makes. No sense at all to us because we are seeing a different word entirely for a word we already learned and it is sometimes another word meaning the same thing or sometum3s it is the part of speech and a grammar rule changed the spelling of the word. It isco fusing and Rosetta has no context to explain it to us.If we at least had those features I would give it a 5 star. But I cannot as the specific language I am learning is actually difficult if not impossible without using other sources for context.I also feel it would not hurt to hover over a word and for us to be able to see it's meaning appear. Lots of language softwares have this feature and it could help with confusion. We don't even have that. Idk anyone who has the pdf files I suggested but a full sheet pdf thst can be printed on card stock for flash cards would help some and if you don't use Flash cards at least can admit it is a cool option. Also the words list is not debatable, it is helpful for review and if someone wants to make their own flashcards by hand they can do so easily from the words list without writing them out mid lesson. It would be nice to if we had an easy feature to review words we made mistakes on to test our learning. We don't have that. Instead we continue our lesson or start over the specific lesson. A quick review that isn't as intensive as a redo of the whole section would also be a helpful feature.Again, I do enjoy Rosetta Stone but if you are not easily able to learn a language or you onky speak one langague fluently then you absolutely need other resources to accompany this. Which is why I cannot give it a 5 star. It is a little ridiculous thst we don't have a words list or the hover feature or any sort of pdfs to help us learn any sort of grammar rules. At least in an easy langauge like Spanish we can probably find good sources but Rosetta prides itself on offering some languages less common and they are hard to fibd other sources for and the langauge lacks a lot of quality of life features found in a lot of other language software. I jist assumed with Rosetta being by a big name out there that at least a few of these features would be present and adding them is really easy to do. Especially for the pdf files That I suggest.

Title: Amazing value!
Review: If you are interested in multiple languages that the program offers, you can't beat the value.Love it. I have seen some reviews complaining about a code problem, or switching from languages issue. I use from my desktop PC and I have not had an issue with either of those. My ONLY negative feedback is that the speech recognition is horrible. It glitches all the time. Right answers are wrong, wrong answers are right, cuts off early etc. However for the price and amount of content provided I'd make the purchase a millions times over.If you plan to use this as a stand alone program, it's 'decent.' But if you plan to use this as a tool to supplement your language learning process then it's amazing.Mandarin Chinese is my primary language to learn with it and Spanish and French are two other languages mess around with too. With Spanish and French this isn't a problem but with Chinese you MUST learn characters outside of this program if you want to be able to read and write.Use the program to get reps and volume in the language and learn with other sources as well and you will find this as a useful tool.

Customers say

Customers find the language learning and functionality of the product to be excellent. They mention it's a wonderful way to learn any of the 24 languages offered at their own pace, and useful for vocabulary memorization. However, some customers have reported that the activation code doesn't work. They are also disappointed with the access. Opinions differ on language support, value for money, and pacing.
