Cleaning and Maintenance

Once you have finished baking, remove plug from electrical outlet. Leave top lid open so grids begin to cool. Never take your waffle maker apart for cleaning. Simply brush crumbs from grooves, and absorb any excess cooking oil by wiping with a dry cloth or paper towel. You may clean the grids by wiping with a damp cloth to prevent staining and sticking from batter or oil buildup. Be certain grids have cooled completely before cleaning. If batter adheres to plates, simply pour a little cooking oil onto the baked batter and let stand approximately 5 minutes, thus allowing it to soften for easy removal. To clean exterior, wipe with a soft dry cloth. Never use an abrasive cleanser or harsh pad.

Storage

When waffle making is completed, simply store your maker with the cord wrapped securely around base. Plug prongs fit into the special grooves on the side of the waffle maker. For compact storage, stand waffle maker on opening end so Cuisinart logo is facing you. The waffle maker has been designed with a special latching feature so the lid stays closed during storage.

Tips on how to make the perfect waffles

Cuisinart recommends the heat setting #3 for golden brown waffles. If you prefer crisper, darker waffles, increase the browning control to setting #4 or 5. For evenly filled waffles, pour the batter onto the center of the lower grid and close the cover. We recommend using 1/2 cup batter per waffle for evenly filled waffles. Waffles are best when made to order, but baked waffles may be kept warm in a 200°F oven. Place in a baking pan or wrap in foil while in the oven. Waffles wrapped in foil may lose their crispiness. Baked waffles may be frozen. Allow to cool completely, then place in plastic food storage bag. Use waxed paper to keep waffles separated. Reheat in a toaster or toaster oven when ready to use.

Review: This Cuisinart waffle maker is awesome! The best part is it’s super cost-effective—affordable but definitely not cheaply made. My wife and I have been using it for the past five weeks, and it’s become a tradition with our twin eight-year-old boys—“Waffle Saturday.” The five different settings let us choose how toasted we want our waffles, which is great. If we were to get another one, we’d probably go for a model that swivels automatically, but this one works really well. It can be a bit tough to clean, so I’d give it 4.6 stars, but I’m rounding up to 5. Highly recommend!

Title: Love my waffle iron. There is a trick to getting it not to stick! 4 YEARS LATER AND IT STILL WORKS!
Review: I purchased this item about a year ago. I tried making a waffle, but it stuck so badly. Finally I got it all cleaned and decided to try other reviewers suggestions such as use pam spray before you pour your waffle mix and put oil in the waffle mix and it still didn't work.I never used the waffle iron again. The waffles stuck so bad that it was impossible to get it cleaned. I threw it away.Why did I give it five stars? Call me crazy, but I bought another one. I thought I would give it another try. It worked. It didn't stick at all. I Here is the trick to do when you first get this waffle iron. Like another reviewer said, I used the Pam spray before pouring the waffle batter and I also added vegetable oil to the waffle mix. On my first purchase I used the Pam and added oil to the waffle mix, but the waffles stuck. On my second purchase I did everything the same (used Pam and oil in the mixture), BUT I did something different. I put the waffle dial between 4 and 5. After I poured the waffle mix in, I waited for the green light to come on. Note: you get a green light when the waffle maker is ready for you to pour the mix in and once you do and close the lid it turns red and then will turn green again after awhile). So anyways, I poured my mixture in and waited until the green light came on. Do not peek to see if the waffle is ready. Once the green light comes on...DO NOT OPEN THE WAFFLE MAKER. Let it cook for a little while longer (I waited pretty long thinking that it is going to be burnt). Then open it up. You will have a thoroughly cooked (really crispy cooked waffle that does not look appetizing). The key is the first waffle is never to be eaten. First because it helps get the new smell, newly heated waffle iron out. Second, because you cooked the waffle so very long. But that is the key. By cooking it so long the first time is like seasoning the waffle iron. If you open it too early it will separate the waffle and it will stick. So be sure to make your first waffle the throw away waffle.On your second waffle, still use the Pam and put oil in the mixture. I put the dial between 3 and 4 and opened the waffle iron exactly when the light turned green. It came out wonderfully. My third waffle (on another day) I put oil in the mixture and didn't even bother using the Pam. It didn't stick at all and came out perfect.For those who are wondering what waffle mix I used thinking that would make a difference in if it sticks or not. I used the Krustez pancake mix. Though Krustez says to just add water. Make sure you put in oil. I used a good amount of oil the first three times because I was still nervous about it sticking. Now I use some oil.I hope this helps someone. Like I said, the first one I bought it stuck every time and I had to throw it away. The second one works great and I think it is because the first waffle was my throw away waffle and I made sure it was thoroughly cooked. Title: Flimsy
Review: I would choose a different waffle maker. We had another cuisinart waffle maker for many years that finally broke. I’d hoped to stay with the same brand because I had such a positive experience before. Unfortunately, this waffle maker is super flimsy. The top and bottom plates slip side to side and it has no weight to it.

Tive que usar adaptador para tomada braseira e no segundo uso, iniciou curto na tomada. Tirei rápido mas mesmo assim derreteu um pouco o plug do aparelho e o adaptador. Sigo usando, com outro adaptador, mas agora com certo medo. Não pode sair de perto pra ficar monitorando a tomada e evitar acidente.

Review: This is a fantastic waffle iron! I wanted it because I wanted to do the old-fashion thinner waffles. This waffle pan cooks them to perfection.More than that, it heats up in a matter of minutes, and cooks the waffles in two or three minutes (there is a dial for selecting how dark you want your waffles). The dial is absolutely consistent which is a wonderful feature.It is easy to clean and a joy to cook with.I read the reviews here on Amazon and there were some that said that the lid as loose, which concerned me. I thought my lid was loose as well but found it worked beautifully.
