Title: Wow! Imagine preparing your own detergent in your very own laundry room!
Review: I'm not much of DIY person, but this book caught my interest because I am now a new person. I eat healthy because I want to live healthy but I realize living healthy is not only about the food that we eat. I have also become more environment conscious because I realize living in a clean and green environment is also a key to long life. Since I started preparing my own detergents, my home and our clothes have a lovely clean lingering scent that my family and friends love, scents that vary from lemon to peppermint and everything else in between. A bonus is that these DIY detergents are so easy to prepare.

Title: Good "Recipes Only" Book
Review: Although this book wasn't what I had expected, it's a good source for recipes on making your own laundry detergents. It contains recipes for powdered, liquid, laundry bombs (combined liquid and powder with just enough liquid to allow the powder to clump), and laundry sauce (liquid, but thicker). I've been making my own soap, cleaning supplies, and laundry detergent for a long time now so this is a somewhat familiar subject to me. First, I started out with liquid detergent but due to having limited space, switched over to powder. If in the future I consider switching up my recipe again, I'll likely use this book as my source. The recipes in this book can also be modified and customized to your liking (essential oils to add a different scent, etc.) so with the number of recipes included, the possibilities are many. To top this off, these homemade recipes will save you quite a bit of money if you're willing to put a little bit of time aside to prep. If you know how to make your own bar soap, it'll save you even more.What I would have liked to have seen would be a little bit of an explanation of each product used and how it helps with cleaning laundry. For example, which recipe would work well with whites or are adding hydrogen peroxide or white vinegar the only solutions? There's some information provided in the intro but it's limited to the basic cleaning products (borax, washing soda, baking soda) compared to the number of different ingredients that are suggested. In a few areas, the recipes call for "soap bars" but doesn't specify which kind. For a beginner, this may be a bit on the confusing side.Regardless, if you're looking for recipes to make your own detergents, this book has a number of options to choose from and is recommended.

Title: Too much time/effort to DIY for most of the recipes
Review: I love the recipes, but look at every recipe first to find the few that don't require you to 1) spend time/energy grating (or finely grating) bars of soap or 2) buy expensive liquid castle soap to mix with the other ingredients.

Review: Before coming across this book, I thought the term "organic" was only reserved for food and body care products. I did not know that it also applied to home care products like laundry detergent. With this book, I now have many options for scents (vanilla!!!) with which to launder my clothes.

Title: Environmentally friendly!
Review: Most commercial laundry detergents have so many chemicals that are harmful to sensitive skin. Don't forget that the process of manufacturing them has negative impacts on the environment! This book has a lot of DIY recipes that have components that are natural cleansers so I expect them to be effective in making sure your clothes are clean and fragrant!
