Review: Purchased this for my husband. He enjoys smoking meat...so I thought this would be a great addition to his smoking meat collection. He loves it. He has made several of his own BBQ sauces and Rubs. We have even given them out as gifts at Christmas. He gets lots of compliments on his sauces and his smoked meat.

Title: Easy read, good recipes
Review: I've always been a big fan of the Dummies books. They're written in such a way that an average person can understand the topic. This book is no different.While searching for a book I came across books written by pit masters. I'm sure they're all wonderful books but I don't want to be a pit master and I don't want to go out and buy most of the ingredients that they say are essential. I just wanted to jazz up my BBQ dishes a bit. I doubt that I'll win a BBQ competition if I follow this book but that's fine.The book is well organized and it's an easy read. The author gives very good tips and encourages you to experiment a bit. It's written in the usual casual style as Dummies books with some light humor sprinkled in to keep it interesting.I've tried more than a few of the recipes and I, and my family, thoroughly enjoyed most of them. A few were so-so but it's a matter of taste.For the average backyard BBQer, I recommend this book.

Title: Very Basic, but Very Helpful!
Review: Like many backyard BBQ'ers I watch the different shows available now showing a myriad of styles, rubs, sauces, etc... I got to where my concoctions were overpowering the meat, and disappointing my friends. This book helped me to take it back a few notches, and understand WHY different seasonings go so well with others. It really improved my game, and my family/friends now ask me to cook for their gatherings regularly. Free food & beer, definitely worth it!I only gave it 4 stars because I think they could have took it a little further with the info, but it is a basics book so I really recommend it if you are looking to go beyond just burning burgers, dogs, and ribs on a grill.

Ci sono molte ricette per produrre marinate, croste e salse: ne ho già provato molte e sono veramente soddisfatto. Review: Der Buchtitel ist leider etwas irreführend, denn wenn sich das Buch nur hierauf beschränken würde (wie ich das gehofft habe), dann wäre es bei dieser Sammlung von Rezepten lediglich nur noch ein Drittel so dick.In diesem Buch wird viel geredet und geschwätzt und natürlich werden hier auch (teilweise extrem einfache) Rezepte beschrieben, aber ein klares, konzeptionelles und auf den Titel fokussiertes Rezeptbuch müsste meiner Ansicht nach deutlich mehr Fokus auf die Rezepte legen, als auf seitenlange Erklärungen von einzelnen Rezeptzutaten, denn das ist meiner Ansicht nach nur Lückenfüllerei.Auch hätte ich mir - wenn man diesem Thema schon ein ganzes Buch widmed - wenigstens ein paar raffinierte bzw. komplexere Rezepturen gewünscht. Alles in Allem nicht überzeugend.Ich ärgere mich, dass ich so blauäugig dem Titel zu vertraut habe.
