Standard CD Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is a collaborative effort by film composers Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL. Hans and Tom created an incredibly compelling and interesting and heart-pounding new musical world for Batman, while continuing to expand on the amazing world and themes Hans had previously created for Superman. Noted director Zack Snyder, By aligning their vision with my perspective and seeing the characters anew through the lens of the film they were able to support the visual aspects of the movie in a way that elevates the film to another level. In so many ways, they become the final texture, the final note in the process of creating the world.

Title: Everything you'd expect it to be! Awesome collaboration between Zimmer and Junkie XL!
Review: This is a score that certainly builds up the anticipation to see the film. Zimmer's "Superman - Man of Steel" score is still one of the most played soundtracks in my collection with it's beautiful themes and intense action music that is just pure epic. Zimmer's collaboration with Junkie XL on "Batman v Superman" is nothing short of soundtrack gold. You'll certainly find all of the musical theatrics that is Hans Zimmer and the contributions of Junkie XL blend right in creating a score that is sure to please fans. I absolutely loved Zimmer's Superman theme from "Man of Steel" and always thought that it represented that character well. Junkie XL's Batman theme for this film is pretty amazing too. It reminds me of a vengeful march that somehow manages to be villainous and heroic at the same time. It's an awesome theme for the Dark Knight indeed.Zimmer knows how to unleash the might of a full orchestra, chorus, and percussion (man he loves percussion) when it's needed but also demonstrates his skills at pulling back the reigns to highlight more emotional and subtle moments as well. A clear example of this can be found in the second track entitled "Their War Here". Having a great cue like that early on in the score definitely makes you giddy in wonder with what will happen next. "Do You Bleed" (track 7) is another massive sequence that is everything you'd expect to hear musically in an epic battle of the titans as Batman and Superman face off. With all the talk about Batman and Superman, let's not forget Wonder Woman as well. Track 11, "Is She With You?", introduces her theme that is a mix of electric guitar and tribal like drums that musically symbolizes the Amazonian warrior princess well. We've been without Wonder Woman for too long and it's certainly good to have her back again! The Deluxe version CD release comes with two discs, a mini movie poster, and a 16 page insert. The insert has photos from the movie, musician listings, production credits and an interview (conversation) with Hans Zimmer/Junkie XL. There are 13 tracks on the first disc and 5 on the second. The total running time of music is 1 hour and 32 minutes. Be very careful when removing the discs from the plastic CD holder because they are really snapped in tight. I had to carefully pry mine loose from it's grip. Although I liked the "Man of Steel" deluxe packaging the most, it's much better than the oversized case and "scratch your CDs" slip covers that was used for "The Amazing Spider-Man 2". Current favorite tracks on this release are: "Their War Here" (2), "This is My World" (12), and "Men Are Still Good" (13). I highly recommend!!

Title: Excellent Score for a Flawed Movie
Review: Say what you will about the film--it does have its flaw, after all--the score isn't among those flaws. I've been a fan of soundtracks since I was a kid and of Hans Zimmer's since buying the score to "Batman Begins" and as with Zimmer and James Newton Howard in "The Dark Knight Trilogy", Zimmer and Junkie XD didn't disappoint. Their music does capture the characters and the mood well and can suit their classic selves--even if Lex Luthor wasn't acting like the Riddler. My personal favorites cues are "Beautiful Lie", which captures how Bruce Wayne felt the night his parents died; "The Red Capes are Coming", which is a good theme for Lex Luthor--and could still work if this Luthor actually acted like Luthor and not the Riddler or the Joker; "Is She with You?", a suitably epic piece and theme for Wonder Woman; "Men are Still Good", a nice theme for Batman; "Day of the Dead", a reprise of the Superman theme from Man of Steel; and "Tuesday" and "This is My World", which suit the scenes they're in, but I won't get into as they're spoilers.Needless to say, I'm pleased with my purchase.

Title: A great soundtrack for an otherwise mediocre film
Review: Okay, so, the movie is divisive, and for good reason. I personally don't care for the movie that much. The *soundtrack*, however, is one of the best film soundtracks I've bought in recent years. There's nothing particularly special about it, but it's incredibly solid and fits the tone of the film very well. Superman's themes from Man of Steel make a reappearance here, and I'm very glad, because the music of Man of Steel was one of my favorite parts of *that* movie as well. Batman's new theme is a little uninspired, sadly, but it gets the job done and it's pretty scary, befitting the more nightmarish Batman from the film. The best parts of the soundtrack for me, however, are the themes for Lex Luthor and *especially* Wonder Woman. They're not only memorable, they're characterful and just plain fun to hear. Whether or not you like the movie, you owe it to yourself to have a listen to the soundtrack for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice if you like film music. You might not find anything groundbreaking, but I'll bet that you'll most likely have a good time.
