Once activated, the realistic moving flame glints inside the recessed top without smoke or soot. Your tealights are both decorative and functional: if the power goes out, these candles shine throughout the night. Each candle uses 1 CR2450 button battery, which will give you 50 hours total runtime before needing to be replaced. When used with the automatic timer, you'll only have to replace the batteries a few times during the whole holiday season, from Halloween to New Year's. That makes these votive candles a beautiful decorating choice that is easy on the wallet for long-term use.
Each little battery operated candle measures 1.7" x 2.2"(measured to the top of the flame). That's just enough to give you lots of lovely illumination without requiring a huge amount of space.
Candles come packaged in sturdy boxes to protect them during the shipping process. They also are easy to wrap without having to search for just the right shaped box. They make excellent presents for any occasion--Christmas, birthdays, Mother's Day, party hostess gifts, or even for yourself!

Title: VOTIVES WORTH EVERY PENNY!
Review: For the price, I hesitated, but after installing each Luminara Flickering Flameless Votive in my holders, I am DELIGHTED!Yes, they are expensive, but the moving fame LOOKS REAL, and I do not have to worry about burning anything or messing with melted wax!Each votive requires a small CR2450 disk coin-shaped battery installation, and the first four batteries are included... I ordered a dozen batteries to have on hand over the holidays.These pretend LUMINARA votives illuminate just like REAL VOTIVES and look best in crystal glass votives.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Title: A Disappointing Experience
Review: Luminara taper and pillar candles are delightful. And though the tea lights are attractive at first, they rapidly disappoint. The timers turn off the candles but do not turn them back on. Battery life is a fraction of the advertised 50 hours. On the contrary, these little creatures have a voracious appetite for their button batteries, consuming them in about ten hours or less. My greatest disappointment was with Luminara product support. My initial email about ten days ago went unanswered, and I sent a follow-up after several days. The company has yet to respond. You would be hard-pressed to find a business that is more indifferent to its customers. I am returning the tea lights and will be cautious about purchasing any of their products in the future.UPDATE: Luminara customer service contacted me after this review was submitted but before it was posted, which is to say that my negative comments did not prompt their response. The suggestions provided by the representative to correct the issues with the tea lights were lengthy and could be beneficial, but I had already arranged for their return. Thus, I will modify my criticism of the product by saying that there are apparently measures that will improve its performance. I mainly wanted to absolve Luminara's customer service from my unfair portrayal of it as indifferent. If you need help with their products, they will try to help.

Title: So real looking I bought them twice
Review: I've had smaller, shorter white tea lights in many of my candle holders and these taller ones are just more substantial, have a nice warm-white wax color and of course the more realistic Luminara flame. You get what you pay for and these are worth the investment. Love the timer option, but I primarily use the separately purchased remote.

Title: Good Choice
Review: These are wonderful -- not too small, not too large.... Goldilocks-sized.... Just right. Look perfect as part of a set with my large Luminara candles-- flame and function identical-- and also on their own as part of decor or just on my nightstand. Happy to finally have this well-done size/design option for those of us who prefer flameless.... Greatly improved from the previous tealight designs on the market.

Title: UPDATE: -Timer doesn't work at all- company was responsive
Review: UPDATE: After complaining to the company they agreed to either refund me or send me a new set of these candles. I chose to give them a second chance and asked for the new set. They work perfectly and i'm now very happy. The company was responsive and apologetic to my complaint so i am upgrading my review to 4 stars. (Still not 5 because there is a quality control issue- but the company is willing to work with the customer).These look beautiful when they're lit but the timer doesn't work at all. I ordered a set of 4 white tea-lights. One of them has a working timer but it emits a loud whining noise that drives everyone crazy so we can't use it. 2 of them stay lit for 5 hours, then turn off as they're supposed to- but then NEVER TURN ON AGAIN. That's it.. they don't come back on the next night. They just stay lit for 5 hours ONE evening and then they're done. And one of them stays lit for ONE hour, then turns off and never turns on again. I'm VERY disappointed as they were quite expensive. So if i want to use them i just have to turn them on, and then off, each night. I specifically wanted the timer function.

Review: I wanted to love these candles, but I found the light that lights up the flickering flame is very bright when they are in a votive cup on a dining room table. If your standing by the table thats what you notice, if your in the distance or their above your eye sight they look great. So just be aware of where you're using them. They also came WITH BATTERIES!

Review: Bought these as a Christmas present, but have proven to be quite a let down. The battery life is advertised as approx' 50 hrs, but lucky to get 10 - 15 hrs at most. Is outside return date and did try contacting Amazon but with no success. Would definitely not recommend on my experience. I also previously returned a set of 4 Luminara white tea light candles for the same reason, the battery life was abysmal.DO NOT BUY!!!
