LEAFY GREENS SOUPLEAFY GREENS SOUP

SPINACH AND ARTICHOKE DIP

A sumptuous blend with roots in Provençal cuisine, where the vegetables are usually baked with cheese and served as a gratin. It's very simple to make, yet always draws rave reviews and disappears to the very last drop.

CHILLY DILLY EGGPLANT

This is a versatile recipe, delicious as a dip with raw vegetables or on pita triangles, as well as a sandwich spread on crusty French bread. It also makes a wonderful addition to a mezes or tapas-style meal. Although it is tasty warm, the flavor dramatically improves if it is thoroughly chilled before serving.

LEAFY GREENS SOUP

This delicious country-style soup is French in origin and based on the classic combination of leeks and potatoes, with the addition of healthful leafy greens.

CABBAGE BORSCHT

Served with dark rye bread this hearty soup makes a soul-satisfying meal. It has the best flavor when it's made with a combination of beef and vegetable broth, but if you're a vegetarian, vegetable broth works well, too.

TRADITIONAL COLESLAW

There is nothing fancy about this coleslaw – it's the kind our mothers used to make. Here we've added some caraway seeds to bump up the flavor and made a jalapeño pepper an option for those who like a bit of heat.

APPLE SPICE PIE

You can create this pie faster than going to the store or bakery and purchasing one.

Title: This is a FANTASTIC cookbook!
Review: When my 40 year old food processor finally decided to die, I purchased a spiffy new processor and decided to replace my 40 year old food processor cookbooks with a spiffy new all-inclusive cookbook too! So out with the old, in with the new! I've had this book for a little over a week and already tried a number of the recipes. The other day I used the Fast and Easy Pizza Dough recipe to come up with a deep dish gluten free pizza. I used our ramekins and pressed the dough into those, then partially baked the dough until it was just starting to turn brown. Then I added my toppings, put the ramekins back in the oven and finished baking. If you know anything about gluten free dough you know it's hard to work with and you don't always get great results, but using gluten free flour, the recipe in this book gave me a delicious crust that was crispy on the outside, yet soft inside. Yesterday I tried the Potato Leek Cheese Soup and it was amazing! Last week my husband tried the Macadamia-Crusted Salmon and we really enjoyed it! With 650 fabulous recipes and being forced to pretty much stay home and come up with exciting meals during the current pandemic, we expect to be happily busy for quite a while! Don't worry that there aren't a lot of fancy color photos in this book. Wouldn't you rather spend your money on a lot of great recipes than pretty pictures? We would! Oh by the way, I also found that the "Tips" included in some of the recipes were very helpful!

Title: 650 Best Food Processor Recipes
Review: 650 Best Food Processor Recipes: Got a larger food processor in December, 2016, and am still trying to use it more. 650 recipes is a bit overwhelming, but each one uses the food processor efficiently and without exotic ingredients. Nice selection of recipes and a section on how to prep veggies, fruits, nuts, etc., in a food processor, including which foods not to process. Hopefully, just what I needed to get more variety in my menus and make the process of cooking easier.I found I could prepare parts of the recipes separately and then put them together to serve as single portions. I made cheesy cauliflower puree and almond crusted fish that way. The almond crusted fish really is an almond topping on fish, but is very tasty. I also made cabbage borscht for eight. My freezer now holds about 11 cups of borscht, waiting for the next time I want to serve it. Next time, I'll make half of the recipe. Only had to wash the food processor once each recipe.

Title: A lot of recipes
Review: But not a lot recipes you may want to actually eat. I find my family can fall into a rut of eating the same menu over and over so I thought this would help change things up. But most of the recipes are the same with slight twists. Like 10 types of hummus. At the end of the day it’s still the same basic dip, appetizer or dessert. While it is great to have the different sections, once you look through the index you begin to realize that there really is not much difference. This book would be great for those with certain staples always on hand like chick peas. However I cannot see anyone convincing their children that salmon lasagna is a fun night meal. Many of the entrees are heavy or rich and simply are not geared toward quick easy meals. This book will show you that your pricey food processor can do quite a lot. Yet an infomercial does the same and I think most of us know our results aren’t going to come close. This book is fine for a dinner party, but not so much for Tuesday night long day quick meals.

Title: Really Great Book if you own an Food Processor
Review: I just received my Book of "650 Best Food Processor Recipes" and I couldn't be happier. After reading reviews online about the lack of Photographs I was a bit concerned about my choice but now that I am actually reviewing this book, all i can say is that it is so well organized and the recipes are so easy to follow that I can't wait to get started making one of the many tempting choices I have found. There are several full color photos but mostly you will not need them. Everything is so clearly laid out and well planned. I am looking forward to utilizing this great resource for many years to come.

Title: A Food Processor Bible
Review: I am new to my food real processor having chopped and grated up to now. I decided to move to a more plant based diet and bought this book to learn more about processing veggies. I got more than I bargained for. After they discuss the basics of buying a processor and explaining the parts they give an Almond to Zucchini ingredient guide discussing many veggies, fruits or cheeses and how to chop, slice, shred and puree them, as applicable (no, you don't puree cheese or candy!) This part alone was worth the price for me as a new food processor user. There are 12 Chapters: Appetizers; Soups; Poultry; Meats; Fish and Seafood; Meatless Mains, Sides and Salads; Sauces, Dressings, Condiments, Rubs and Seasoned Butters; Sundries; Yeast Breads, Quick Breads, Muffins and Scones; Cookies, Bars, Squares and Brownies; and Deserts ad\nd Dessert Toppings. The Sundries chapter includes pasta, stuffings, doughs and nut butters.Of particular interest and use for me is the Sauce chapter. As I add more "plants" to my diet, I was fearful of eating bland foods, Fear Not! There are literally 101 recipes involving ways to "flavor up" not only veggies and salads but also burgers, ribs, steaks and roasts. In summary I feel this book is a must for food processor beginners as I am but cannot fail to give experienced user users ideas and recipes to expand their repertoire.

Title: Great options
Review: Though this book is a bit dated, the recipes are great, and fine for vegans and vegetarians. It's a great array of realistic and accessible recipes which work great in our new Kitchenaid Premier 9 cup processor. Highly recommended!

Review: Very well written food processor cookbook. I had no idea the food processor was so handy. Just need to be shown sometimes, I guess. Have now made numerous recipes within this book and so far, none of them have disappointed my family. One piece of advice, do NOT get budget quality equipment or you will regret it and most likely have to repurchase anyway. Do your research. Sometimes spending a little more on quality is worth it. My current food processor is 20 years old and does an amazing job. I wouldn’t get anything less than 800-watt. I did purchase a second food processor for larger jobs. It’s rated at 1200-watt. Both do an amazing job.

Review: A little disappointed, probably more my fault than the book. It is American which I should have expected I suppose. The machines used a different to the Kenwood I have and a lot of the Ingres are unavailable.

Review: There are basic tips for the actual use of a food processor, most of which even a newbie like myself will already know. Most of it is common sense anyway, such as knowing that the whisk attachment is only for eggs and cream, anything heavier requires the steel blade or the dough tool. I mainly wanted this book for inspiration and different things to get the best out of my machine and this it delivers in spades. I have used a couple of recipes already and am sure to be trying out a lot more in the future. It is an American publication but these days it is easy enough to convert the measurements and most people know what the American term for certain items is. If not, Google is your friend.
