Title: The best pruner I’ve ever owned!
Review: In June 2023 I purchased this pruner after seeing some reviews. I’m always skeptical and with gardening tools, I’m even more so. After I got this pruner I knew I loved it. Although my husband says I shouldn’t be allowed to use sharp objects 🤣. I did cut myself several times getting used to the pruner. It trims cleanly and never seems to get dull. The grip is great for my smaller hands and it locks and unlocks very easily! I’ve not had to do any sharpening with this pruner.Current day October 2024 and I’m back for another one. My original is going strong, but I need another one for a different part of our property. And bonus it’s gone down in price!I’ve owned a lot of the more expensive pruners and I now have them in the garage in a bucket for emergencies. This one was worth my money!

Title: Comfortable, sharp, well-made. Great so far
Review: Got tired of replacing pruning shears (local 'big box' hardware store) so often. Did a little research and decided on this pair of ARS clippers. Very nice so far. Blade is replaceable just in case...

Title: Sharp sharp but difficult to lock
Review: This is the 3rd pair of shears I have purchased from Amazon and by far the sharpest. The first pair was an anvil type, which is not good for plants as it crushes the stems. The second was OK and took 2 tries to get one that cut. Finally I read wirecutter and they suggested these. It is very hard to use Amazon to select products and there is a lot of gaming going on to get high ratings on Amazon, as these did not show up as highly rated. But these are great. I was dubious about how thick it could cut and yes, it is true, half inch is fine. Great for pruning rose bushes, other plants

Title: Competitive with Felco pruner
Review: I've used an F2 Felco pruner for years so I'm comparing the ARS directly with the F2. The ARS is slightly smaller in overall size, perhaps the size of the Felco F6. It fits my hand very well, maybe better than the Felco as I don't have large hands. I'm awarding 5 stars after several weeks of regular use.The only real difference between the ARS and the Felco is in the locking mechanism. Squeeze the handles to unlock the ARS. Release the thumb catch to unlock the Felco. I'm tending to like the ARS better; it's not a big difference, but the squeeze-to-use is a very convenient feature. The biggest (and really the only) complaint I have with the Felco F2 is that the thumb catch continually gets bumped into the lock position and I have to constantly reset it while in the midst of pruning. Not a big deal, but a bit frustrating. I've tried to tighten the tension on the catch, but don't seem to get it to stay in the "open" position. My ARS came with all diagrams and instructions in Japanese, but I doubt that will be an issue. So I'm a fan of both brands and will reserve final judgment until after I need to disassemble the ARS for cleaning, sharpening or replacing parts (which I assume are available). The ARS is notably less expensive than the Felco equivalent product and seems to be of equal quality -- so far.

Title: Well designed, and wicked sharp.
Review: The release catch shows the manufacturer's attention to detail, as it it will not lock up while pruning. Lightweight, sturdy, comfortable in the hand, and sharp enough that I'm extra careful about the placement of my empty hand while using it. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Title: Sharp and comfortable
Review: This clipper is very sharp and cuts thin branches like butter! The handle is comfortable and sits at a good angle. The lock mechanism was a little stiff at first but I appreciate that it self locks with s little extra one handed squeeze.

Some also appreciate the quality, ease of use, and value for money. However, some customers differ on the lockability.
