Title: Beginner's Baking Bible
Review: Excellent for ANYONE! NOT just for a "beginner," as it is extremely methodical in its presentation which lays a solid foundation for introduction to (a) the kitchen and more specifically to (b) the art of baking. She systematically defines the "what" of common cooking and baking terms, as well as simplisticly explains the "why." A MUST HAVE for the beginner; a GREAT way to start a young person on the road to a rewarding and fulfilling baking journey; and an AWESOME reference work for the experienced cook! Title: Perfect for beginner bakers
Review: LOVE this book. I've probably made 20 recipes from it now and everything has turned out well. Like a lot of hobbyists, I delved more into baking with COVID quarantine, something I'd always enjoyed but never really spent a lot of time on. With this book I've made lovely tarts, pies, muffins, cakes and breads with the clear, detailed instructions. I plan on trying every recipe in it. There are a lot of the basics (blueberry muffins, French bread, chocolate cake), but a lot of unique recipes as well (vegetable tart, caprese galette, espresso chocolate chip shortbread). There's also a well written first chapter that outlines basic techniques for different kinds of bakes (kneading bread, mixing ingredients etc) that has helpful illustrations. Exactly what I was looking for. Going to see if Ms. Perine has published other books.

Title: I wish it had more pictures!!
Review: Although I think this is a great book for beginner’s. I wish it had photo’s of what each recipe should look like when completed. As a beginner, I find visuals have helped me to be more confident while baking in the past. However, with that being said, I plan on trying every recipe in this book!!

Title: Bake like a Pro
Review: The Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie caught my eye and is the first recipe I tried. They were a huge hit with requests for more. Who doesn't like a warm chocolate chip cookie. Therefore, this cookbook was the perfect gift for my daughters and daughter-in-law. As new bakers they attempted many of the recipes and found the tips at the bottom of each page very helpful. All recipes are easy to read and follow with step by step instructions. I was a culinary teacher for 30 years and I know simple instructions makes for better bakers. Each recipe gives you a tip, suggestion, or substitute to use ingredients you have on hand. This cookbook might say for beginners but the wide variety of recipes and helpful techniques makes you look like a pro. I highly recommend this cookbook to anyone who enjoys baking and wants professional results.

Title: Learning so much...
Review: I really appreciate this book. I have learned so much about baking that I never knew before. I have actually been able to understand the baking terms and do the recipes. I have been able to iron out some of my most basic baking skills by using this book. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to improve their baking skills in general. This is the go to book for myself personally now. I have also determined that I am going to bake my way through this book and master all of the recipes. I don't know how long it will take, but I will do it and be proud of my accomplishment of doing so eventually. I have only just begun, and I will get even better as I go along mastering all of the skills that are taught in this book. Thank you!

Title: Beautiful basics plus exciting variations!
Review: I bought this cookbook for me and my 4th grader to use together, as she has really taken to cooking and baking this year.This beautiful cookbook has excellent basics of baking, covering terminology and technique. It’s layout is easy to read at a glance (especially while baking, which is helpful!). I especially appreciated the step by step photography with the techniques- very helpful, especially for the beginner.The book does have basics, but I loved the variety of unique recipes as well! In the cookie section alone, we found some cookies that made our mouths water! I’m eager to try Spiced Hot Chocolate Cookies and Red Velvet Chocolate Chip! I’m very curious about the Glazed Orange Ricotta as well!Comprehensive and easy to use - I think it’s already a family favorite!

Review: This is an American publication but that isn't stated in the description. The measures are all in cups and it uses a lot of products not familiar or available in other countries.. There are very few pictures which I would have thought essential for beginners, and of course the recipes are for traditional American bakes.. like pumpkin pie. Very dissapointed and will return..
