Review: Bonnie Raitt's slide guitar work is legendary and has inspired me to play slide guitar! This CD showcases the extraordinary career and the magnificent talent that Bonnie Raitt has compiled through the compilation of her work on this CD, during her career with Capitol Records.However due to the damage by the delivery company, the CD got damaged, and it appears to have affected the playback of the CD so only half of the songs could be enjoyed.Amazon, has processed the return, and is so good about providing the return shipping with no cost. Amazon makes shopping so pleasing and gives me assurance that the customer is valued and cared for so well!Love Bonnie Raitt and love Amazon!

Review: Listening to this collection of Bonnie Raitt it is not hard to see how she has remained such an admired figure in music since the 70s. The material tends to be bluesy with a bit of country and of rock in the mix - there is quite a lot of variety in fact. The best songs - Silver Lining say, Something To Talk About, Love Sneakin' Up On You, Lover's Will, or a duet with Bryan Adams called Rock Steady - sound like classics, given in her distinctive timbre that is both soulful, with a hint of dryness, and discreet, never lapsing into vulgar emoting. For some reason she remains a fairly unknown name over here, in spite of being able to sing and play the guitar (on the outstanding Love Me Like A Man, for instance) - Lynsey de Paul was never like this!
