Title: good book
Review: I like the logic that surrounds Socrates arguments. Another thing I like is how eye opening it is and how Socrates is refuting a big problem in our current day and age. I would recommend this book to everybody as a leisure read and deep read.

Title: Excellent book
Review: Kreeft is masterful in this piece, as well as a similar work "The Unaborted Socrates". Finally, a Christian is regaining the field of philosophy! I used this in a class for guys 13-15 years old. This work shows that Christians can think and that there are answers to the world's questions that are logical and meaningful.

Title: Good, but not Kreeft's best
Review: As an aside, let me just say that reading the book recalled fond memories of my college and graduate school years, and even reminded me of some people I knew. The premise of the book is contained in its title: What are "the best things in life?" The modern mind is exposed as one that is so introspective that it is oblivious to the workings of logic, reason, and basic self-understanding. Thus an irony is exposed, namely the inclination toward the self-delusional of the "me" generations. Socrates' famous dictum: "the unexamined life isn't worth living," is the central tenet of the book. Two people closely evaluate their lives and realize that everything may not be as it seems. The hopeful effect this will have on a reader is for he or she to turn and examine his or her own life. The book makes some interesting points, and is a "lighter" read than some of Kreeft's theological and philosophical treatises. All in all, I like the book.

Title: Give the very best!!
Review: Most of us never live the best things in life. Often we don't even think through what is the best. This book with take you on a trip through the lives of two students as the meet Socrates and converse their way through life's choices. It uses humor and wit to expose the process of logical thought and choice-making. It will make arguments that surprise you. It will take you places you did not know existed. You learn the best things and choose then in your life, never settling on anything less than the best. Fun book to read!!
