Then the installation is completed and you can enjoy your strong Z-Wave signal. Title: Great for improving the speed and reliability of your Z-Wave mesh (see details). Highly Recommended
Review: At the time that I automated my last home with Z-Wave, my two largest problems were the limited range of 1st-generation Z-Wave devices, and the relatively shallow utility boxes in my walls. My house was physically large (and spread out), so I put over 100 devices in the home in order to have a reliable mesh network. When I moved into my current home, my challenges were very different. This house was originally constructed in the 1960s, and it consists of 3 floors and two add-ons. The core of the house is not wired with neutrals at the light switches (ugh). As such, I have not been as inclined to put as many switches in, as I've needed to use units that don't require neutral (or add in resistor packs). The answer to build a reliable network was to add Aeotec Range Extender 7s.I'm no stranger to Aeotec, having bought sensors, plugs, and various other peripherals from them over the years. When I wanted to get repeaters for this house, I naturally thought of Aeotec Range Extender 7s. The units are a little different from my older repeaters as the inclusion button is on the bottom. The light is a ring around the button. Inclusion was quick and painless with my Homeseer HS4Pro installation. a few full optimizations later, and the garage door opener and smart deadbolt started reporting immediately and reliably. Mission accomplished. The only gripe I really have is the presence of the screw hole "loop". I get the idea: it's meant to allow you to semi-permanently attach your repeater, keeping anyone from inadvertently unplugging it. In practice, though, it can act as an obstruction, making an outlet harder to use. Lest you think you'll just put the repeater on the top outlet, you'll find out quickly that it covers part of the lower outlet. You can tear off the loop with some pliers, but it would be nicer if there was some non-destructive alternative.Final thoughts? There's no ARGB, as in previous iterations of the product. That's fine with me, as I never used it, anyway. I guess the main question would be why you would use a repeater, as opposed to spending basically the same money (or less), to get a lamp control module. My answer to that is simplicity and aesthetics. This iteration of the Aeotec Range Extender may be a little more stripped-down, but it's more attractive (though that's subjective), and it's more useful. The new utility comes in the form of the down-firing light ring... it basically functions as a low-intensity night light. Don't want that? Turn it off with a single click - no need to mess with sending Z-Wave parameters.Though I wish the 2-pack had been available at the time I needed these, at $34 each it wasn't that bad to get the repeaters that I needed. If you need a stronger/better/faster Z-Wave network (especially when it comes to battery-powered sensors/devices), these will work well for you. For those of you that may be wondering, my setup includes 300, 500, and 700 series Z-Wave devices, and this seems to work well with all of them. It properly registers all of its neighbors and routes, regardless of protocol generation, and it passes "secure" S2 messages without issue. Highly Recommended

Title: Easy integration with Ring
Review: I bought this when my "Works with Ring" front door lock was no longer connecting with my Ring system. I had some concerns from reading other reviews that it took a bit of effort to make it work with Ring. Not so! It couldn't have been simpler. I went in to the Ring app, added it under a "works with Ring" device (even though it doesn't officially say that on the packaging or setup guide), scanned the QR code on the device (or packaging--it's in both places), and it worked right away. And I achieved the goal of having my front door lock working again. Easy setup AND performs as desired.

Title: Night and day difference for Zooz battery powered switches with Homey Pro
Review: Struggled with Zooz battery powered switches causing huge retry delays on a Homey Pro which was only 5 feet and 1 wall away.Support brought me through an extended tour of their debugging tools (nice tools btw), but wanted me to rebuild my whole network and replace devices.Popped this in, crossed fingers, and it was like night and day. The battery powered zooz switches (zen34) work as well as the built-in wall switches now.

Title: Helps keep my devices connected
Review: I have a set of outdoor lights connected to an outlet housed in a waterproof box. Before buying this extender I would say about 50 percent of the time it wouldnt respond to commands. With the extender it's become MUCH more reliable. That said I do find that some of my other devices don't appear to be using it and still have connection issues. Also it has a light that can be annoying in the dark, but double pressing the action button will disable it

Title: Won't Stay Connected
Review: Seemed to work fine, though not sure it was necessary. After about 2 years, it will not stay connected to the Aeotec hub. Have tried disconnecting and re-installing several time with no success at keeping it online. But it's really a moot point. I bought this to help make sure our wireless deadbolt stayed connected to the hub and it has no issues even with extender being offline. Probably just going to trash this one now.

Title: Exactly what I needed
Review: I don't have a very large house (1300 sf), but my front door lock (Schlage Z-Wave smart lock) is separated from the Aeotec Smart Things hub by 2 walls. This caused the lock to keep going offline. I found in a forum that someone has a very similar situation and solved it with a range extender. It's been over 2 months since I connected it (nothing to it, plugged it in and the Smart Things app found it very quickly), and haven't gone offline once. It doesn't make any difference to me, when you plug it in, it becomes a night light, very dim and soft, but might be a minor issue for somebody else.

Title: Works with SamsungSmartthing Hub
Review: Had 14-16 devices disconnecting and occasionally connecting back to Samsung hub. This happened after installing a stronger wifi router which caused interference with the z-wave network. Prior to my WiFi upgrade, I had no issues. I have a variety of devices that were migrated from Lowes Iris and now everything is back online thanks to this signal booster. Make sure to scan the QR code inside the box when adding the device. The QR outside is for product validation. Very easy to add. I moved it around the house to provide better range and device would connect to HUB immediately.

Title: It really works
Review: When you need a range extender, you can just buy a Z-wave plug which acts as an extender as well, right? This is what I thought. I bought a brand X plug, which was advertised to extend the range as well just to discover that its range was very poor; worse than that of my battery operated Z-wave devices. Then I bought this Aeotec gadget. It made all the difference. The brand X plug became a perfect tester - if I can make it work everywhere in the house, the Aeotec must be doing its job. Exactly what happened. With Aeotec off, the tester does not respond unless it is very close to the Smartthings hub. With the Aeotoc on, it does regardless of where I place it.The X brand "tester" is going back, the Aeotec stays.
