This extraordinary volume of photographs from the pages of Vogue celebrates the pivotal role the fashion editor has played in shaping America’s sense of style since the magazine’s launch more than a century ago.

Drawing on Vogue’s exceptional archive, this book focuses on the work of eight of the magazine’s legendary fashion editors (including Polly Mellen, Babs Simpson, and Grace Coddington) who collaborated with photographers, stylists, and designers to create the images that have had an indelible impact on the fashion world and beyond.

Featuring the work of world-renowned photographers such as Richard Avedon, Irving Penn, and Annie Leibovitz and model/muses including Marilyn Monroe, Verushka, and Linda Evangelista, The Editor’s Eye is a lavishly illustrated look at the visionary editors whose works continue to reverberate in the culture today.

This coffee table book is perfect for sharing, gifting, and displaying. Featured in “Guide to coffee table books as holiday gifts” from the Associated Press “Vogue: The Editor’s Eye tells how the vision, creativity (and let’s not forget lavish budgets) possessed by eight fashion editors from 1947 to the present have produced the striking layouts that are the magazine’s signature.” —The Denver Post “Vogue: The Editor’s Eye is the perfect gift book for anyone with an interest in fashion or photography or brilliant book design. No electronic tablet yet created can duplicate the sheer visual pleasure of paging through this gorgeous book.” —Connecticut Post “Told via in-depth interviews with each of these visionaries, Vogue: The Editor’s Eye gives a glimpse into the process, proving that the magazine’s cutting-edge fashion spreads are as much about editorial point of view as they are about model-photographer-designer collaboration.” —BookPage.com

Title: For the Fashionista or the Photographer
Review: I wasn't interested in this book for the fashion but for the photography side. Vogue photographers are some of the best in the world, so I picked it up from the library with that reference in mind. I found that I couldn't get enough of the book in two weeks, so I had to buy it, and I'm glad I did. I love the photos. They're very inspiring photographically. But I also found myself fascinated by the profiles of the fashion editors (which is what the book is about). Even as a male not involved in the fashion industry in any way, I found reading their stories, about their personalities, and the perspectives from where they fashioned their photoshoots from completely interesting.Whether you're a fashionista or a photographer with an interest in fashion photography or even just in inspiration to give your clients a little extra edge in their shoots, you need to pick up this book. It's definitely worth the investment.

Title: Great Book for Inspiration
Review: Loved the book. I am a photographer and have always been an admirer of the Vogue covers. Some of my favorite photographers contributed many images for the coved. The book is very comprehensive and visually striking. I bought it to use as a source of inspiration when I feel a bit uninspired. Recommend highly if your a visual artist, in fashion, model, etc.

Title: Amazing
Review: When I first saw this book I was a little scared because it didn't have a look inside feautre (as other books do) but I went ahead with my instinct and bought it. The book is really large and heavy about 40-45 cm in length, and is a hardcover book.Expectations I bought this book for my photgrapher girlfriend when she saw it her jaw dropped and every thing page she saw she said "awesome" thats how good it is. The book is filled with high quality, huge fashion photographs, it includes modern and classic pictures even famous ones, as a whole it is a very beautiful book totally recommended as a gift for a photographer, or anyone who appreciates this form of art. Besides this is one book you could keep in your living room and draw a lot of attention!! Five stars for me!!

Title: Book to show off but slap anyone who touches it, unless they are wearing gloves.
Review: Content is wonderful! It is on the coffee table. I looked through it very slowly and got great pleasure from that. To be really honest about the purchase. If Rooney Mara was not on the cover, I doubt I would have bought this, although it's content is wonderful entertainment for us who love visual smorgasbord such as this. Rooney is such a chameleon. Look for her to soar.
