Title: Almost an Anthology ~~ Dorothy Moore's - Greatest Hits
Review: This is an all around good listen of soul-fullness and blues!Although Dorothy Moore had only 3 songs make the Pop chartshe fair-ed much better on the rhythm & blues air-waves.From 1973 to 1982 she landed 14 songs on the R&B chart, and one more ~ her last ~ in 1991 ~ 'All night blue' which is here. Here are the original recordings of 13 of those 15 charted song. There's only one song among the 14 on this C.D. that wasn't a charted song ~which is 'He Thinks I Still Care'.Moore's first song to chart was 'Cry like a baby' in 1973 ~that song is not here. This collection starts with her second song to chartand goes chronologically in order of their releases, but for the exception of skipping her next to last songwhich is 'What's forever for' in 1982 and is not here.'Misty blue' ~ Moore's biggest hit ~ and signature song ~ landed at #2 - R&B, and #3 - Pop in 1976.Of Moore's 15 R&B charted songs, only 5 made it into the top 40 ~all 5 are here ~ no B-sides.1. Misty blue ~ 1976.2. Funny how time slips away ~ 1976.3. I believe you ~ 1977.4. With pen in hand ~ 1977.5. Special occasion ~ 1978.But the chart numbers don't reflect the soul and blues your immersed in ~ in this collection. This is an excellent compilation.Includes a six page booklet about Moore's life and career. From Varese Fontana, a company you can rely on for quality, original recordings.Released October 16, 2001.Footnote: 'Misty Blue' was also a country hit, 3 times over, and all 3 times climbed into the country top 5.Country music lovers might like to check out the first charted version of 'Misty Blue'which was by Wilma Burgess in 1966, ~ great song ~ great voice ~ bluesy delivery.

Title: Absolutely GREAT Music - Recording is of Good Quality
Review: I am a Dorothy Moore fan. I ordered this Greatest Hits CD more for the blues songs like Misty Blue than the 70's hits. I have almost worn it out already. What a great, great talent.

Title: Dorothy Moore cd
Review: I first heard Misty Blue years ago. I didn't know who she was, but I loved the song. Kind of forgot about it until one day I heard her again. So, I went on Amazon and sure enough, I found just the cd I wanted. She has such a good voice! I would recommend her music to everyone who likes it a little blues! What a clear voice she has. It just kind of grabs you!

Title: Real Music
Review: Oh how I love the soulful sounds of Dorothy Moore. I was a pre-teen when most of her songs hit the airwaves. This has to be that "one" album that I love EVERY song. This album is in my "Road Music" collection so it gets a whole lot of play. Thanks to my Amazing Amazon folks...you bring sweet music to my ears.

Review: Dorothy's first big hit in the UK was "Misty Blue" an absolutely fantastic soul ballad, probably the best 20 Twenty single of the year (1976) charting in both the US & UK Top 5.That song was a typical 'southern' soul vocal over a more mellow than usual backing. For many pop buyers it was probably the first 'real' soul record they bought!Dorothy surprised many by having several follow up hits all included here, such as "Funny How Time Slips Away", "I Believe You" & "1 2 3" all similar in sound to "Misty" and the rather more sentimental "With Pen In Hand" which tells of a marriage break-up & features Dorothy's own daughter Formeka with a spoken dialogue.Besides these well known tracks the album also includes a great up tempo duet "We Can Love" featuring King Floyd and ends with a couple of country tinged blues type tracks with "All Night Blue" just edging ahead of "He Thinks I Still Care" thanks to a power house vocal. All the songs feature really fine, emotional singing with tasteful backings & good productions.Great album from a strangely under rated singer!

Review: Dorothy Moore what can i say about this woman an ageless star, she started off with the ballads so many people loved and i am glad these are all on this disc sadly she went with the flow of other artists she should have stuck with what she does with perfection.
