Title: Terrific multimeter, with excellent display
Review: A friend gave me his Klein MM 1000. He is an electrician. It was pretty beat up and have been used for many years in a tough environment. I was really impressed with the capabilities of it. However the switch eventually gave up.I wanted to find something similar and was pleased to find the client MM 420. It can "only" deal with up to 600 V circuits, which is not going to be a problem for me. It measures all the important electrical requirements and also includes temperature with an included thermocouple.I bought this one because the display looked really nice, and it is. They changed the LCD color and it really stands out, especially when backlit.Klein multimeter are "bench tested." I put this in quotes because this particular bench test means that they can handle a 3 foot drop off of a bench.I have been happy with every Klein tool I've ever bought. They offer excellent quality at very competitive prices. You can buy very basic all the way up to professional. The fact that my friend, who has been a career electrician, uses Klein multimeter was certainly a plus to me.Very happy with this purchase.

Title: Good basic meter for the price
Review: I got this meter and the Klein case as a replacement meter for work. At about half the cost of what it replaced, it does well. The switch seems solid enough. The rubber bumper housing is handy on the job. The back light is giving good visibility. I am pleased.

Title: Works great, but takes a second to get a reading.
Review: I use this meter at work mainly for checking voltage on automobiles and for the continuity function. Works perfectly, but I dislike the amount of time it takes to beep when there's continuity. I'm used to instant responses with my older meter. I understand it's more accurate in all its other functions, but if I'm checking 30+ fuses on a car , I want to get it done quickly. Feels like a bad connection because of the delay even though it's not.

Title: Good value!
Review: I've been a fan of Klein Tools for years, so considering a Klein multimeter wasn't difficult at all. I've used mostly Fluke multimeters in my 40+ year carreer as a technician. They are considered the best of the best. With that accuracy, repeatability, and quality, you pay dearly! So I was looking for a second lower-cost meter. I was also looking for a reverse backlit display--white numerals on a black background. I'd looked at Milwaukee, but they do not include a diode check function. I chose the MM450 for it's features and price point. While I have not compared accuracy to other meters, published specs are similar to other more expensive meters. There is one minor issue in my review, and that is the white-on-black display needs to be viewed pretty much head-on for best quality. Depending on the tilt angle, there are positions where the display is very faded, almost to disappear. That might be an issue if you measuring in tight quarters or not able to look straight on otherwise. It comes with test and temperature probes, and fabric case. An optional rare-earth magnetic hanging strap is available. Besides voltage and current, it also measures resistance, capacitance and frequency, along with a peak hold function, making it an ideal meter for most service techs.One other minor detail...when in Auto scale mode, it can take up to 5 seconds for the reading to finally resolve. If you are troubleshooting something point to point and in a hurry, this may be an annoyance. However, if you turn off the Auto-scale mode, the readings display quite a bit faster. Given the display issue (and that might not be a problem for everyone) I'd give it a 4.5, if that were possible. But it's certainly better than a 4, so a 5 it is!

Title: An improvement over the MM400 which is a great Multi Meter
Review: I was pleased to get this MM420 multi meter. My MM400 was borrowed by my neighbor who fried it. I replace the slow blow 10 A fuse and still couldn’t get it to work. The display just randomly goes nuts. I read a few reviews on the Klein webpage between the two and selected the MM420 to replace my MM400. The MM420 has a larger screen, but the MM400 was just fine. I also ordered the heavy-Duty Klein Cables that come with the alligator clips at the same time. They are very nice and worth purchasing. I had purchased a case when I bought my first Klein multi meter. It fit the new meter with the extra Klein cables. Title: Big Features Small Size
Review: I purchased this meter primarily because of the size. It will easily fit in a shirt pocket. I was impressed with all the features that Klein packed into this meter. The oversized display is easy to read although I did note like a previous reviewer that it can be somewhat difficult to see from an angle. I like the side entry test lead jacks. The jacks even light up depending on which function is selected, which may be helpful for less experienced technicians. It has a milliamp function which makes it useful for instrumentation applications. The microamp function works for burner flame signal troubleshooting. The frequency and capacitance and temperature functions are useful for HVAC applications. This meter has just as many features as a Fluke meter costing 4 times as much! It has a ruggedized shell that should protect the meter from daily use and abuse. Overall I am extremely impressed with this thing. Time will tell how it stands up to industrial and home use

Review: Meter works well, very solid construction and very good dial, which has been the failure for me on many cheap meters. As well, it uses an normal AAA battery vs. useless button cells. My only complaint is that some of the display text or symbols needs to be larger for those of us with old eyes and that have difficulty reading text without glasses. It is such a PITA to see if one is in AC or DC mode as the DC symbol is so faint and small. What it means is that the unit has to be switched Off and then to Voltage and then the Select button pressed to get to DC, but sadly the DC setting will not stay at DC if turned off or to another mode. I see a new and more expensive model has a direct DC Voltage Setting, as others have also complained about this MM400's AC to DC switch.Great meter though if you can get it on sale vs. regular price.

Review: Ich bin kein Profi, aber war bereit für ein Gute Stück etwas auszugeben.Ich habe also viel verglichen, viele Bewertungen über viele Modellen gelesen, und die + Punkten haben für dies gesammelt, und nun bereue ich kein Cent: es ist stakt gebaut, sieht gut und robust aus.Ich kann nicht sagen was ein Profi damit anfangen kann, aber ich denke das es für Experten Bastler geeinigt ist 🙂
