Title: xBox One Headset Adapter Solution for ALL Headphones INCLUDING Apple Headphones (And Apple-Ready Ones Too)!!
Review: This review is intended for GAMERS, so if your looking at this mic for other purposes, you may be better off reading another review. That said, I have the UE 6000 headphones, which are Apple ready, and wanted to use them for online gaming and chat on xBox One online. Because the UE 6000s are Apple-ready, the inline mic will NOT work due to ground and mic rings on the jack being flipped from the "standard" used in the xBox One headset adapter. But, using this mic with the UE 6000s WORKS PERFECTLY!! This cord will work with ANY Apple based headphones (so long as your headphone cord is detachable). The cord is of impressive build and performance quality! Other player's voices are clear (limited by your headphone quality of course), and everyone you're talking to will hear you clearly. Nobody has complained about the quality of this mic. The mic receives sound on both sides, so it's basically "reversible", which means it doesn't matter if your cord plugs into the L/R side of your headphones. As for the mic stem, it's perfect! Very flexible, and will retain whatever shape you place it in. It's lightweight, so it's not going to fatigue the wearer after long term use. And the max volume while playing online is LOUD (though this may be attributed to the UE 6000s). Many people have complained of low volume while using the headset adapter with whatever headset they're using. The quality of the cord exceeds the $30 cost, so it's a value purchase. Rather than buying a new set of Turtle Beaches, Trittons, etc, this mic's value becomes an even greater value.***- The xBox One Headset Adapter is a MUST! This cord will not bypass the need for the adapter.Because this cord wasn't designed exclusively for gaming, the cord is on the long side (6ft long). However, it does come with a velcro strap to tie the cord and shorten it. It's a solid solution, or you could just use a twist-tie for the same purpose. The only slight complaint that could be made about this mic is that if you rub it, you'll hear some SLIGHT muffling in your headphones. But, you only really notice it if there's no sound coming through the headphones. When playing, I never noticed any sound interference at all.Rather than buying the Polk 4-Shot gaming headset for $160, or the XO Sevens for $135, I'd strongly recommend this alternative for the same price- this V-Moda mic ($30), the xBox One Headset Adapter ($25), and the UE 6000 headphones. As of 3/26/2014, these headphones are listed on Amazon for $80 (in white), and $100 (in black). I did a side-by-side comparison with Beats Studio, and these 6000s sounded better/clearer with just as much bass if you wanted. Plus, you can then use these headphones "on the go" unlike turtle beaches, tritons, etc. And their build quality is far superior to the Polk and others. In conclusion, this mic is perfect for turning ANY pair of detachable cord headphones into a gaming headset when used with the xBox One Headset Adapter. The construction and performance are top notch, and the mic stem is highly customizable. If you already have a quality pair of headphones that you feel would make a great gaming headset, then buying this mic is a no-brainer. If you don't already have a quality pair, it's worth your time and money to put together a gaming headset using this mic. And if you go this route, start by looking at the UE 6000s!!

Title: Seriously, $30? UNRIVALLED QUALITY PER PRICE!
Review: I can't believe V-Moda has made such a great product for such low price! I mean, their V-Moda headphones are great, but also very expensive. Now, one by one:1) The mic quality is just mind blowing. Voice is crisp, sounds very natural, there is also volume normalization. The mic has actually perforation on both sides, so you don't have to rotate it depending on the position of the jack on your headphones (right or left).2) Volume control is a very nice feature to have! You can control volume of the sound in the headphones with a rotating disc, and you can mute/unmute the mic with a plastic switch.3) The cable of the mic is all the way braided! It is the same material and finish as on a stock V-Moda headphones cable. Now, there are also things that can be made better:1) The cable of the combo jack to separate mic and audio that comes in the box is not braided. Works fine, but I predicts its low life expectancy.2) The little diamond-like thingy on the plug (which goes into in the laptop) is, for a strange reason, purplish-red. Strange design! The cable is black though.3) It is so difficult to fold this cord due to two things: the mic itself is firmly attached at an angle to the headphone-side jack. So when you fold the cord n-fold, the mic stick outs. Also, this convenient volume control part is large. It makes the whole size of the folded cable even larger. I have to squeeze it with some effort to properly and safely into the stock V-Moda headphone case.Otherwise, V-Moda, thank you so much!

Title: The splitter it comes with is a pile of rubbish - it makes the whole product worse.
Review: It's essentially random how badly the included splitter ruins my headphone/mic audio (probably due to a loose wire... or three) - often the mic simply doesn't work at all, sometimes it works but sounds as if I'm underwater. Once it completely ignored any signal coming from the microphone and turned my headphone drivers into a mic - regardless of which of the split plugs was put in the mic jack. The splitter such a cheap piece of crap that the whole product would be more valuable without it. It usually manages to get the audio to my headphones at the very least, but so would a two dollar aux cable. On my devices with four-pole jacks, the microphone sounds great and doesn't affect the sound going to my headphones. Pity I bought the stupid thing for use with my PC which has only separate three-pole jacks for mic and audio. Buy only if you plan to use on a device with a four-pole jack, or if you budget for an extra splitter that doesn't suck.EDIT: I did some testing with my multimeter, and it seems like the microphone portion of the four-pole socket isn't connected to any pin on the other side at all - and when it's connected to the Boompro, it appears that the polarity of the headphones is incorrect (ie, what should be the left and right channels are connected to ground and the drivers' grounds are connected to the left and right channels). The splitter my Boompro came with is measurably absolute trash. After buying an adapter that actually works, the product is great. The headphone and mic signals are well isolated from each other, the mic sounds great and the headphone sound is not affected. Just make sure that you're prepared for the possibility that you have to buy a new splitter.
