Title: No more chirping
Review: I replaced (2) combo detectors in our house - each about 10 years old. They still chirped even with new batteries. While it was the same brand, I still needed to replace the pigtail with the one supplied with these. No biggie - they work fine.

Title: Best Detectors I have purchased
Review: When we purchased our home it did no have any gas appliances so did not have any carbon monoxide detectors installed in the home. Fast forward to the next winter we upgraded our HVAC system to a gas furnace so wanted to ensure our home and family was protected from the dangers of potential gas leaks. When choosing an detector I wanted to make sure that it was hard wired in with our entire house as well as have a detector that had a smoke detector as well. After researching different brands I found that I liked the reviews on the Kidde Hardwired Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector the best as it also had the AA battery backup.Coming from public safety a backup is always preferred as living in more rural areas seconds and minutes count to get out and get to safety. After turning off the breaker and testing to make sure power was off to the detector circuit, Installation was a breeze with the provided instructions and only took a few minutes to install once the old detector was disconnected. I made sure that the battery was also good before connecting it to the power as well. Once the new Kidde Hardwired Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector's were all installed I made my way through the house and tested each one. If your detectors are all connected I love that when one is alerting, they all alert to warn the entire house of the danger. After using for a few months now I will definitely purchase Kidde detectors in the future if needed. The value of safety is priceless but the cost of the detectors is well worth the listing.Be sure to always change your detector batteries once a year!!

Title: Lasted 1 month DO NOT BUY UPDATE: They are sending a new device after all.
Review: Only allowed 30 days. Broke on day 32. 2 Fire trucks later-The fire department says it’s defective. Kidde wants to troubleshoot. This is a potentially life saving device. Our $50.00 could have just as well been put in the shredder. Awful product!UPDATE: The seller is replacing our unit. The customer service was well done. Changed rating from 1 ⭐️ to a possible 4 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Title: Replaces alarms that time out.
Review: The house is a bit more than 8 years old and has a bunch of these detectors. They still function perfectly, but someone thought it good business and got the law changed to force replacement of these detectors by starting a never ending beep. The choice is to replace a still working unit with another one, or toss it and go without. The plug did not match, so I had to wire the new one into the wire nuts, seems like an unnecessary step too. The new alarm now works without beeping. Reminds me of the seat belts in 1974 cars that prevented you from starting the car, even to go down your private drive to the mailbox, easily cured with a bit of rewiring under the seat. I suspect many will go without a smoke detector because of this 8 year replacement "feature".

Title: Not perfect
Review: After realizing I’ve never heard the smoke alarms go off in our house and finding out they’re all original to the home, 22 years old, I decide to outfit my home in all new smoke detectors. I went with all kidde; 3 of which are the combination CO and smoke detector, the rest are basic smoke detector. I installed all 9 of my alarms mid/late March of 2024. I rewired each and every one of them; relatively straightforward and foolproof if you’ve done any electric work before. Fast forward to present day, November 2024, and all but one have been flawless. The one that had an issue, unfortunately, was the combination detector in my bedroom, and it decided to begin sounding the alarm at 3am. I was having an issue where every 60 seconds it’d flash an amber color, and do 3 quick beeps. Once I identified that the house wasn’t on fire and there wasn’t a co leak, I disconnected and went back to bed. Later that morning, I hooked it back up and it hasn’t had an issue since. That was appx one week ago, and I haven’t had an issue since, though I do anticipate it rearing its ugly head again at some point…. I reached out to customer service, they were prompt to respond, however they seemed more interested in troubleshooting a potentially faulty unit instead of just offering a replacement to an item that has only been in service appx 7-8 months.

Customers say

Customers find the installation process of the gas smoke fire alarm simple. They mention it's a great home safety product and that the 120V battery back-up is easy to install. However, opinions differ on its functionality.
