Title: perfect!
Review: Installed within minutes like a dream, is whisper quiet, blades are balanced perfectly, fits tight and pulls in oceans of cool air at night through the open windows. The only thing we needed to accommodate was that we aren't able to shut the window behind the unit. Truthfully though, neither of us is bothered by that. The unit removes as easily as the old box-fan it replaced, but goes back in effortlessly, where the box-fan required jimmying the cardboard or whatever we were using that year to control the air-flow around the unit. Painful process, inefficient (crikey! The air flowed BACK inside, around the edges!) and noisy, like that place we almost lived with a train running outside. (Realtor forgot to mention. Fortunately we were in the backyard when the train ran through).Needless to say, we are beyond pleased with this one. Superb quality. Moves the air like no tomorrow! And i can hear the tv again... ;-)if anyone has a clue how to slide the window shut behind the unit, please leave a comment! Thank you 😉

Title: First one was DOA
Review: 7/6/17 : Fan motor died last night. We got four years of seasonal use out of this unit. I installed it and left it in the window all year long. So for about 3.00 a month this unit saved me what we'd spend on electric for central air or 3 window units in our house + the initial cost of the AC units themselves. We think it was worth it. Will buy again. This unit works the best if its kept clean. Ours got alot of dirt build up on the frame and blades. Also dirt accumulates on the window screen where air is pulled in from outside. If those three things are kept clean (Maybe 2 hours of clean up at the end of each season) the unit moves air like new each season.May 2016: The first one we recieved was fryed, right out of the box. The box had a big dent in one corner. The fan itself looked fine but only 3 of its six speeds worked. The fan didnt have a template with it either.Amazon shipped me a new one right away. The second arrived in better shape, no major dings or dents to the box. Some of the screws were missing so I had to pirate from the DOA fan. But it did have the template which made installation a snap. The fan works fine now. Cools the downstairs down pretty quick in our 1000 sq ft. home. (We dont use our upstairs much). We've had it about 3 weeks and no problems, as long as we remember to keep enough windows open in the house when its on exhaust. Its a powerful fan and the motor strains if you dont give it enough supply air, creating some noise. Thats operator error NOT a manufacturer defect!I'd still recommend this to anyone with a smaller home that wants to cool their home on sub 85 degree days. Eighty five and up, especially with humidity...turn on the AC.

Title: Significant Quality Improvements Over Previous Version
Review: Air King has made some significant improvements to the quality of this fan in this version (9155J) as compared to a previous version that I also own (9155H).The improvements have to do with the motor. The 9155H had an open motor housing (i.e. allowing air to pass into and through the motor), whereas the 9155J has a totally enclosed housing. The totally enclosed housing will keep the motor internals clean allowing it to last much longer. Also the bearings on the 9155H were actually sintered bronze bushings, not ball bearings as was indicated in the documentation. These bushings failed on the fan that I had after only a few years of use during summers, However this was also changed on the 9155J which has shielded ball bearings. I expect that these bearings will last for many years. The bearings are also a common model used for skateboard wheels, so can be replaced if need be in the future. On the negative side, the low speed setting of the 9155J has a higher speed than the 9155H. This makes the 9155J a bit noisy on low speed, whereas the 9155H was almost whisper quiet on low speed, which was nice. Also the components for these fans are still made in China which is always a quality concern. However, overall I think the changes that Air King made to the motor will allow this fan last many, many years without failure.

Title: It sucks!
Review: This does an amazing job moving air. Just what i wanted. I wish I had seen the bigger one on Amazon, but this one is still amazing. It should let me cut a couple of weeks of air conditioning.

Title: Good, reliable fan
Review: Been using this fan for many many years. 1 fan cools my whole 150 year old house. I use the intake spin at night to pull the cool air in and the exhaust spin to keep the outside hot air out during the day. Each fan I've owned lasted many years.

Title: failing motor
Review: Motor has vibration and squeak after less then a year. According to seller 1/6 hp motor. According to airking 9155 has 1/16 hp. Can't seem to get through airking to get a motor. Don't really know what we have here. Still under warranty. Fairly large to pack and ship anywhere to get warranty done. Wish it had a better motor. Ours is used on low speed exhaust so not worked hard at all.

Title: Moves a lot of air, but noisy, and installation isn't trivial
Review: I needed a high volume exhaust fan for my non-airconditioned cabin, and this one seemed to meet the need. Overall it works well enough that I'm keeping it, but it's a disappointing product, especially for the price.I was able to install it without too much difficulty, but I did it by holding it up and marking the holes, rather than by using the template. It takes a little bit of skill, and would be easier as a 2-person job. Ignore the paper template, it's more likely to lead to errors in alignment. When turned on at high, the fan rattled and clicked quite a bit. I replaced a missing cover screw, inserted padding between the metal parts, which helped but didn't eliminate the noise. It's tolerable at medium, but is a bit too intrusive at high speed. I ascribe the blame to poor design combined with sloppy manufacture.Given the noise and the relatively high price, I can't recommend this fan if you're looking for a relatively quiet residential application. You might be better off with a good box fan or "industrial" fan, depending on your needs.

Review: Negative air pressure ftw.We have it installed in the 3rd floor attic window. All it takes is opening a window on the first floor, on the shady side of the house and the fresh air streams through the entire house. You can literally feel the breeze. It greatly helps cooling and airing the entire three floors. Would totally recommend it.

Review: This is a real window fan. It's powerful and quiet...unfortunately it was far too large for my window and had to be returned.Air King should really make a 9 inch smaller version of this fan. No other fan comes close to this one...

Customers say
Customers find that the electric fan works well to circulate air throughout the house. They appreciate its powerful performance and steady airflow, making the room feel fresh and comfortable. Many customers find it easy to install and consider it a substantial window fan compared to regular double fans. However, some have mixed opinions on noise level, build quality, and value for money.
