In this sweet and moving picture book, debut author-illustrator Sandra Salsbury explores friendship, compassion, loss, and the transformative power of connection.

Roland lives a quiet life filled with art, music, and tea parties for one. It's a nice life, but sometimes he feels rather lonely. And then one day, Roland finds the perfect companion.

Milton may just be a pine cone, but they have so much in common. Milton also happens to enjoy drawing, listening to music, and drinking tea. And he's also alone.

But there are signs in the woods suggesting that someone else might be missing their best pine cone friend. Suddenly, Roland doesn't know if he truly cured his loneliness or if he just passed it on to someone else.

Title: Heart warming story of friendship and loneliness
Review: This beautifully illustrated book tells a touching story of loneliness and friendship. I started reading it to my class (children 2-4 years) as we prepared to come back to school and navigate new friendships. 3 months later, this is still one of their favorite books and they request it often. They really empathize with Roland as he struggles with friendship. This is a must by for anyone with young children, especially those that are a little anxious about making friends or starting school. You will not be disappointed in this heart warming and beautiful book.

Title: Wonderful book about making friends!
Review: This is a very sweet book about a bunny who lives alone but wants to find a friend. One day he does, but then he finds out that his found "friend" is really someone else's lost friend. He struggles a bit with wanting to keep this found friend but also feels the strong pull to return the friend to its real owner. He does the right thing and a wonderful surprise awaits him! I read this book to my preschool classes and the kids really feel what the bunny is experiencing. Beautiful illustrations!

Title: A wonderful story about friendship and doing the right thing
Review: Such a sweet story with beautiful watercolor illustrations. My kindergartener was feeling slightly anxious about making friends now that he is back to in-person school. One of the themes of this book is that friendship can be found in unexpected places. Also, I really liked that the main character did the right thing, even though it was difficult. Definitely a book that will continue to be a favorite.

Title: Sweet & gentle story, beautiful art
Review: Sweet story about a little bunny making a pinecone friend, and then realizing that sharing a friend with someone else doesn’t mean losing them— it means gaining more friends. The watercolor paintings in this book are absolutely gorgeous. Perfect bedtime book for littles.
