Title: No breaking in period!
Review: These shoes are great. I got them the night before I left on hiking trip to NH and forts use was an 11 mile hike. They needed no break in. I was so shocked. No blisters at all. I also crossed thru some water I wasn't pirpoly trudging thru it but there were a few times the water cam up over my toes and I could feel the cold but my feet did not get wet. It also was very muddy and my shoes did not stay dirty and the dirt just brushed right off. Picture of shoes is after 3 uses in muddy conditions. I felt like they fit true to size. Some people have said they fit small but I did not find that to be the case here. I love the color of them they look just as pictured.

Title: Comfortable, good support, good value
Review: I tried many hiking shoes before deciding on these, and I am so glad I did. They fit well, are soft and lightweight but provide good ankle support. I have always worn boots before, so was concerned about the stability of shoes. They were perfectly comfortable on my first hike of 7 miles in mountains. They are lightweight and cool for a Californian summer, but wide enough to put on thick socks, and I suppose I could spray waterproofing on.... if we get rain this winter. I've now had them for a few months and am also impressed by the grip on loose surfaces. Definitely 5 stars!

Title: Great fitting shoe
Review: Bought these to hike in Alaska. The fit was amazing right out of the box. They are well made and sturdy. They do have to be worn for a while to break them in which I think will take about 3 days. I would highly recommend these Merrills.

Review: the sneakers are very high quality. Made perfectly, look great. Unfortunately, they didn't suit me. My Heel is very sensitive after Achilles tendon surgery. They ended up with a very tight fitting back, MY left leg felt a lot of pain. Unfortunately, I had to return it.

Title: Great Shoe Wrong Gender
Review: I purchased another version of this shoe in a gray and they fit and feel great. I ordered these for work on a roof and wanted a slightly smaller size for a snug controlled fit. When received, I thought they were extra snug and cramped for 9.5. I think I saw a review by some saying that these shoes fit small. I thought these were extra small. The ad says mens 9.5 but when I looked at the tongue of the shoe, it shows a womens 9.5 which puts it at a mens 8 or 8.5 at best. Too bad since I really liked the look of the shoe. One hint is that the heel pull strap was pink so if you see a Merrell shoe with a pink heel pull and it says Mens, beware.
