A healthy vegetarian cookbook featuring inventive takes on beloved Indian dishes, indulgent desserts, and more, all made with whole foods and anti-inflammatory ingredients—from the Today show’s resident foodie

“When I’m looking for something quick that doesn’t use refined sugars and refined flour, Samah is the person I turn to. I can’t get enough!”—Giada De Laurentiis, New York Times bestselling author of Eat Better, Feel Better

NAMED ONE OF THE BEST COOKBOOKS OF THE YEAR BY FOOD52 AND LIBRARY JOURNAL

Samah Dada doesn’t buy into the all-or-nothing mentality of healthy eating. By using real, unprocessed ingredients in surprising ways, she shows you how to have your cake and eat it too—because it’s actually made out of chickpeas.

Samah knows that eating well doesn’t mean eating boring food. She uses only the most nutritious ingredients, not because she’s cutting out food groups to follow the latest fad, but to create drool-worthy meatless dishes that are mostly vegan (with options for dairy and eggs), mostly gluten-free (with easy substitutions to go entirely gluten-free), and all helpful in reducing inflammation. She reinvents Indian cookbook staples—and other classics—with recipes such as:
• Sweet Potato Aloo Tikki
• Creamy Black Lentils
• Spicy Eggplant Masala
• Chocolate Chip Tahini Cake with Chocolate Frosting
• Cauliflower Cacio e Pepe
• Masala Mac and Cheese
• And more!

With Dada Eats Love to Cook It, you’ll discover how to use healthy ingredients for maximum flavor and joy.

Grain-Optional. Gluten-Flexible. Mostly Plant-Based. Totally Inclusive.

Title: Love love love
Review: I barely cook. I don't use cookbooks. I don't buy cookbooks. I usually rely on the internet when I am looking for a recipe. But this was an exception that I am SO glad I made! I follow Samah (@dadaeats) on Instagram, so when I saw that she was releasing a cookbook, I knew I had to grab it because 1) she seems so delightful, genuine, and warm, 2) the recipes of hers I've tried from Instagram have been delicious and nutritious, so I was fairly confident this would be no different. I was right.I've only made 2 recipes from the book so far (Brookie Pie and the Banana Chocolate Chip Loaf), but, this is more than a cookbook. I read through almost the whole thing when it arrived. Samah's essays are beautifully written, and her recipes also include a flare of her personality that's so fun and joyful. I can relate to her experiences as a first-generation American born to immigrant parents in Southern California, and I appreciate the way she's pulled influences from her Indian culture into her recipes. She measures chocolate chips with her soul, which really speaks to me.Overall, her recipes are easy to follow, using ingredients that make me feel healthy (even when I'm indulging my insatiable sweet tooth). The book is well organized, and visually beautiful. So glad I grabbed this book, and hope this review helps encourage others to do the same!

Title: New favorite cookbook
Review: This is a great cookbook!!! Every single recipe is something I would make. I have been plant-based for almost 35 years. Due to autoimmune disease I can't have dairy or gluten so this cookbook fits my needs. Wonderful quality hardcover with photos of every dish. Love it!

Title: An elegant, beautiful cookbook: A must have in any plant-based kitchen!
Review: An absolutely gorgeous cookbook. This book has a diverse set of recipes with thoughtful anecdotes and sumptuous photography throughout. I love that almost every recipe has an associated photograph and detailed instructions. You can tell each recipe was carefully curated and tested -- recipes are original yet approachable! This book is a great gift for friends who love healthy cooking or for those looking to incorporate an anti-inflammatory diet into their everyday living. This book is a perfect companion in any plant-based household, and all recipes are clearly and easily adaptable if you ascribe to a vegan, paleo, or meat-inclusive diet. Absolutely delicious! Some standouts include turmeric roasted cauliflower with cilantro tahini, masala mac & cheese (no cheese in sight!), chickpea & riced cauliflower curry, and date caramel fudge brownies.

Title: Beautiful work!
Review: Highly recommended. Beautifully published and great recipes.I have the book for couple of days but already tired few recipes and more eager to make more after tasting how delicious they all are.I am vegan and wasn’t sure what to expect. Not all plant based people are vegans. This book is vegetarian book with some recipes with eggs. While I cannot make all of them to work for my lifestyle, most of them are great so overall ai am happy with the purchase.

Title: Easy, healthy and delicious
Review: Other reviewers, there is a difference between plant based and vegan. Yes, there are eggs in some recipes and I don’t eat eggs but there are plenty of great recipes in this book. I made the maple & olive oil tahini granola and it is delicious. Going to make the spicy turmeric quiche and sub in besan flour for the eggs and cannot wait to make the za’atar caesar all vegan. Happy I purchased.
