Title: Well done documentary
Review: This is very well done documentary, from the beginning of the prelude to WWII, Pearl Harbor, then many segments of different stages of the war, different islands and Europe. Great archival films and narration. ( and actually a testimony of man from my hometown in segment regarding the Japanese POWâs)

Title: WW2 WAKING THE SLEEPING GIANT
Review: I thought I had seen every tape/DVD on the bombing of Pearl Harbour and other battles of WW2 but David Wolper seemed to have collared all the best and unseen bits for his production.Fantastic scenes not viewed before and just the speeches of Winston Churchill and Roosevelt were enough to make my hair stand on end. Some scenes also from such greats as Billy Mitchell and Eddie Rickenbacker and an excellent chapter of WW1.If you think you have seen everything then get this set because you haven't.The name David L.Wolper always represented quality production many years ago.It has been reprised through this set.Disc 3 is a real bonus showing the lead up and events of WW1 and how the US became involved. Then the huge task of preparing for the D -Day Invasion of Normandy with real sequences.Ten Seconds the Shook the World was the development of the Atom Bomb and its release over Hiroshima-real scenes again.Trial at Nuremberg saw all the Nazi War Criminals getting their deserved sentences of hanging and imprisonment, and The General is the biography of General Douglas MacArthur, a great story for a great general. If you do not want to see all this it is history for your children and presented in the impeccable Wolper manner. It is so good to see the past histories of WW1 and WW2 again and money well spent.Stan ChunWellington.New ZealandJune, 2015.

Title: A little bit of good, a little bit of bad ...
Review: The sub-title "Waking the Sleeping Giant" along with the cover art (Zero's flying over a battleship) leads you to expect a documentary focusing on Pearl Harbor but this is misleading. Only one of the three disks covers the December 7th sneak attack while the two remaining disks cover a hodge-podge of WWII documentaria. The first disk is a portion of Creation Films excellent documentary "Hell in the Pacific". Every thing Creation Films does is first rate and this is no exception but here's the caveat - This disk features only 3 segments of the larger 10 part work. The remaining two disks are a mixed collection of Wolpert documentaria. The Wolpert content shows it's age, produced in the early 60's, but is of high quality nonetheless.None of this information is available in Amazon's product description so I was disappointed with the product upon inspection. But I gotta say, at this price point (under $7), It's not a bad purchase. And Pre-Estate Sales shipped it to me in a timely manner with good protective packaging.

Title: An Excellent Overview of WW-II and Some of WW-I as a Bonus
Review: Without a doubt, at the offered price of less than $10, this 3-disk DVD set was a good choice! What I particularly liked was some WW-I history and material that enlightened me on the conditions leading up to WW-I and WW-II. However, there is some duplication of the Pearl Harbor attack and the footage and editing is not good quality or skillful. No real matter in view of the historical significance. This set would be an excellent "starter kit" for a person interested in getting a good overview of these conflicts before diving into more extensive, detailed or dramatized accounts of the conflicts.

Title: Hubby loves it
Review: My hubby is a war buff and loves everything I get him concerning it. Funny thing, he is from Sweden and can teach most Americans about our wars! I guess we are more exciting.
