Warranty & Support
Little did they know then, that their company would become one of the most renowned manufacturers of small arms. Just seven years after constructing an industrial plant for building the most sophisticated wagons and railway cars, the three ambitious owners undertook a more serious venture. At this point, the Swiss Wagon Factory, with an order for 30,000 muzzle loading Prelaz-Burnand rifles in hand, changed the name of the company to the Swiss Industrial Company – Schweizerische Industrie-Gesellschaft, known worldwide as SIG. By the 1970s, SIG’s small arms division was expanding to include Hämmerli Target Arms from Lenzburg, Switzerland, and J.P. Sauer & Sohn, GmbH, of Eckernförde, West Germany, known worldwide for their hunting rifles. In the 1980s, SIG set its sights on the United States of America. The American market was a vital part of SIG’s business plan to continue to expand its market share and become one of the international leaders in the small arms industry.

Title: Using This Sig Sauer Rangefinder For Golf, It Is Amazing Technology, Great Value, Great Warranty
Review: I don't typically write product reviews, but felt it was warranted in this case. As a low handicap golfer who has played for over 40 years, and used purpose-built golf rangefinders made by all the leading mfgs., I was needing a new rangefinder after an unfortunate accident at my home golf facility involving my previous rangefinder, a wooden bulkhead, and a water hazard.Preferring a rangefinder that shoots to the tenth of a yard, I narrowed down my search to a few of the usual makers, then ran across a listing for the Sig Sauer Kilo1000 for $159. The reviews were very good, but no direct mention of golf capability in the reviews or on the SIG web site. However, there were a couple of indirect golf mentions, including one shooter who said he had ranged snowflakes with his SIG, so he thought it would work for golf. I noted the SIG 1000 features, price, warranty (five years!), and return option, rolled the dice, and ordered. After playing three rounds of golf using this rangefinder at a 36-hole golf facility with two very big courses, I am blown away by its performance. For $159, it is astounding. The clarity of the optics, amazing. The speed is instantaneous and faster than anything I've ever used. From the tee I ranged the end of a fairway corridor on a long par 5, which was nothing but dark trees (not reflective) well behind the green, and it INSTANTLY returned a result (later verified) of 718.3 yards. Single trees, bunkers, hills, water hazards, whatever, INSTANT yardages, to the tenth.Of course for golfers the acid test would be golf flagsticks. There is probably not a software algorithm in this SIG rangefinder to specifically recognize flagstick shapes, but it doesn't seem to matter. Get the circle reticle over the flag, press the button, and get INSTANT yardages to flagsticks, down to the tenth of a yard. The results come back so fast, at first I wasn't sure they could be correct, but they have been correct every time (I've calibrated with other folks' range finders for three rounds now. The only difference is that the SIG is orders of magnitude faster than theirs, with less screen clutter, better build quality, better warranty, and probably more accurate. )I've ranged in both Line Of Sight mode and angular (Slope) mode, using "BEST" target, and I'm having no trouble picking up flags. Some of the flagsticks at our courses do not have reflective prisms, no problem for the SIG 1000. There is no vibration jolt or LED jolt signifying locking on the flagstick, but I have never preferred that for a rangefinder. Some may want that.I have a steady hand, so the 5x magnification is enough for me to be able to capture the golf-sized flag in the reticle at longer distances. That being said, if SIG wanted to make this model 6X or 7X magnification, at this price point, with the ranging engine and technology they offer, and a five year warranty, they could take over the golf rangefinder market. The folks who built this product knew what they were doing.

Title: WOW!
Review: This Sig is replacing a Leupold rangefinder that was 12 years old and cost $299.99. It died and Leupold lifetime warranty doesnât cover electronics. Sig will warrant this rangefinder no matter what happens to it or when it happens. This thing is awesome! The optics are so bright I couldnât believe it. The objective lens is smaller but half again as bright as the Leupold. It ranges things immediately and you donât have to look for things for the rangefinder to reflect from. It reflects from EVERYTHING!It is small and light. It doesnât offer lots of different reticals, just one. Not lots of bells and whistles but everything that you need if you keep your shots under 5 or 6 hundred yards.

Title: Extremely Happy
Review: Very good product. Simple, accurate, and effective. Battery lasts awhile. If you're complaining that you can't read the yardage at dusk or dawn - you probably shouldn't be shooting anyways. It's completely sufficient within legal shooting hours.

Title: Nice for the price
Review: Wouldâve given 5 stars but arrived with a dead no name Chinese cr2 battery. For sig this is kind of a cheapo move to not put a name brand battery in the box. Id recommend ordering batteries with purchase of this unit as the one it comes with is gonna be dead or not last long. Overall itâs nice for the price point but obsolete in low light/dusk conditions cause of the black number display. Would be really nice if it had a led matrix for the numbers! Range finder itself works great and features are nice. Compared to higher end range finders I guess I canât complain given the $100 price point.

Title: Surprisingly clear glass.
Review: Having used many optics over the years including $3,000 high end scopes, and rangefinders from other brands costing much more, I am very impressed and completely satisfied with the quality this one brings to the table. Yeah, the numbers and such aren't illuminated, big deal. Everything else about this thing is awesome.
