A doom metal album of a game. A spiked flail to the face. Light on rules, heavy everything else.

MÖRK BORG is a pitch-black apocalyptic fantasy RPG about lost souls and fools seeking redemption, forgiveness or the last remaining riches in a bleak and dying world. Who are you? The tomb-robber with silver glittering between cracked fingernails? The mystic who would bend the world’s heart away from it’s inevitable end? Confront power-draining necromancers, skulking skeletal warriors and backstabbing wickheads. Wander the Valley of the Unfortunate Undead, the catacombs beneath the Bergen Chrypt or the bedevilled Sarkash forest. But leave hope behind - the world’s cruel fate is sealed, and all your vain heroic efforts are destined to end in death and dismay. Or are they?

MÖRK BORG is a complete game in the OSR genre, that can be played as is or be picked apart for use in your own homebrew. The rules are easily made compatible with most of the editions of the world’s largest role-playing game. Within the book you’ll find:
A brief look at this dying world. From The Two-Headed Basilisks’ gothic cathedral in Galgenbeck and Blood-countess Anthelia’s limestone palace, to the fields of death in Graven-Tosk and the barren wastes of Kergüs.
The Calendar of Nechrubel, that decides the speed of the world’s demise.
20 occult Powers that let you bend reality, and just as many magical catastrophes for when you disastrously fail.
Optional rules which brings more depth to the game. Omens let you turn bad luck into a slightly better one. Classes with unique traits and quirks, and tables that will bring life into your character.
12 creatures to be murdered by.
Game master tools such as tables for corpse plundering, occult treasure, adventure sparks, dungeon generating and other devilry.
The introductory dungeon crawl scenario Rotblack Sludge, where you investigate a forgotten part of the Shadow King’s enormous ruin palace. Cannibal warlocks, poison peddlers from beyond the void and hungry gutworms await.

Title: Finally picked this up
Review: I've been meaning to add Mork Borg to my collection for some time, and it doesn't disappoint. It's a high-concept, no-mercy game presented with gorgeous pop-doom layouts and artwork. This is always one of the first books people who aren't familiar with RPGs pull off my shelf to thumb through, and there's a very clear reason for that. This rulebook feels like viewing a high-intensity videogame trailer or intro sequence: it sucks you into this neon black metal world and makes you eager to die.

Title: Mork Borg: A Dark Fantasy Gem
Review: Mork Borg is an atmospheric and dark tabletop role-playing game that immerses players in a surreal and grim fantasy world. Its minimalistic rules encourage creative storytelling, and the unique visual style adds a captivating aesthetic to the gaming experience. With a focus on improvisation and a sense of impending doom, Mork Borg offers a refreshing take on traditional fantasy RPGs, making it a thrilling choice for those seeking a darker and more unpredictable tabletop adventure.

Title: Rules light, hilariously brutal, and very fun.
Review: Mörk Borg is an awesome, terrifying, and comedic game. The book really does a great job at conveying the mood of the setting primarily through the insanely good art, and stylized word choices. It's high quality, fun to look at the book, fun to play, and I highly recommend it for those looking to run rules light, brutal, and hilarious dungeon crawls.

Title: a Rules Lite Doom Metal Inspired RPG
Review: the hardcover, I LOVE IT! from my collection of different colors of reds, blues, black, and green, even white, the neon yellow stands out really well. the art is really cool, something you'd see in Black Metal and/or Doom Metal album covers.the rules as I mentioned in the title, the game is light on rules, even character creation is super easy, so you'll have your doomed character ready to go.the lore is enough to give you an idea of what the world is, which is a doomed world, an apocalypse is looming, if you're running a campaign, it gives you rules on how many days until the apocalypse, and if you really want to go all-in on the apocalypse, you burn the book (I wouldn't do it, the book is too amazing to do that).when it comes to rules-lite OSR (Old School Renaissance) games, it is up to the dm to make calls and checks, it's all about role-playing, yet ease of play, so for those that are used to D&D & PF to have a rule for everything, it'll be weird at first, and might turn some people off due to lack of rules.if you're an old-school gamer that is used to dm makes the call and ruling, and want something that literally gives you bands to listen to for inspiration, this is the game to run a Doom metal RPG game.

Title: I had heard a lot about this rpg...
Review: The book is small and lightweight, the rules are light and is made for ultimate roleplaying without heavy rules to bog you down in a dark end of the world setting. There are a lot of adventure modules and resources to play with the game online. So if you can find some friends to play with, have at it!

Title: Let's talk abou DnD alternatives
Review: Everything about DnD has become a bloated mess. MB is the solution. Its a system that invites complication rather than provide it. In fact; I can't review the content of the rules provided, rather; I am reviewing the book itself. In that: this is a perfect rules book. The pages are robust and colored well, and there is no problem with the print that I received. If you read this far, buy this book.

Review: This game is awesome and easy. Style over mechanics and for brutal gameplay and pitch-black humour. One of the best OSR RPGs making waves right now for good reason. Oh– and so much free content available online.
