Title: Recommended for floor toms
Review: I own 4 of these and they work great for floor toms. I've used them for floor toms up to 18 ". They are also good on rack toms especially if you want more a dark dry sound. I also use this to mic my Stanton Moore pandeiro. That's what he recommends. It is not a great bass drum mic at least if your kick is 22" or bigger. I think it would work well on an 18" bass drum because it's great on my 18 floor tom. Audix mics have some nice built in EQ which makes it much easier to get a great sound. I like these way more than my Shure sm57s. In general, I prefer Audix mics for drums.

Title: Great all-purpose low frequency mic
Review: I bought this mic as a all-purpose mic for use with low frequency instruments on stage; bass cabs, djembe, small bass drum, etc. I considered the D6 as well, but that mic is tuned specifically for bass drum and I wanted a more flat sound. This mic delivers, and you could pound nails with it! Audix has great products, I also use an i5 and OM5.
