The beloved authors of Dirty Laundry break down the harmful stereotypes about people with ADHD to help you stop being your worst fear-leader, start bigging yourself up, and live your best neurodivergent life.
When “ADHD wife” Roxanne Pink and neurotypical husband Richard Pink asked their community of 2.5 million what the biggest ADHD struggle is, the thousands of replies changed everything. As they learned, the real enemy isn’t productivity or focus, but the toxic ADHD core beliefs we’ve internalized.
With candor and kindness, they share personal stories to highlight and reframe the 10 big lies that ADHD people believe about themselves. From “I am lazy” to “Everybody hates me” and “I quit everything I start,” Small Talk will empower ADHDers and those who love them to navigate life with compassion, humor, and hope.Whether you were diagnosed early or are new to the neurospicy community, Small Talk will change your relationship with yourself and others.
Learn how to:
• Identify your limiting ADHD beliefs
• Break free from neurotypical standards
• Support and understand your ADHDers
• Adopt a self-kindness mindset
• Communicate your needs & boundaries
• Celebrate the joys of ADHD

Title: Itâs not just you
Review: Followed these 2 on YouTube and loved both their books. Very informative and shared private stories that were very relatable. Rox is genuinely lovely and totally an open book person to share her story. Richard is the partner I needâ¦who understands her and does not judge, but helps in non demeaning ways.

Title: If you have ADHD or your partner has ADHD read this book.
Review: Iâm 35 years old with full blown adhd and this book has seriously hit me in all the feels already. For the first time I actually said out loud âIm sorry. No, Iâm not sorry, Iâm doing my best and you know what thatâs ok.â And it felt so good and was taken it very well. This book is life changing for me because it allowed me to View both sides from someone with adhd and someone without. Itâs really refreshing to read this book and know, Iâm not stupid, Iâm not broken, Iâm just different and thatâs ok. I have a lot of positive traits that come with adhd as well. This book reviews the hard parts of adhd as well as the talented, unique and special parts. My daughter also has adhd and Iâve made sure in raising her she had confidence and support and never felt ashamed. But I forgot about myself and this book helped me realize that I need to allow myself to feel that confidence & security too.I canât recommend this book enough. (Toms my hubs, the wife of the house wrote this )

Title: This Book Saved My Life
Review: It sounds like hyperbole but itâs truly not. Iâve felt broken for a very long time. This book had me reading and crying and reading more and crying harder. To have someone ( Rox) explain with such empathy, clarity and wisdom is a life/game changer. Iâve never looked at my strengths and all the amazing things I can do. Iâve just wanted to change into this mythical âadultâ exactly like Rox. All 10 of these ADHD âliesâ spoke to my core. This book speaks with so much grace and understanding. This book has helped me in one day of reading it cover to cover than 20 years of therapy and 100âs of self help books. Thank you seems to little but I canât say it enough THANK YOU! I purchased 3 more books to give away and the audible version as well to keep listening so as not to forget⦠ahh adhd.. lol that these 10 lies are truly just that, lies. Run donât walk , this is an amazing book!!

Title: The BEST book to understand what's going on.
Review: I am only half way through (very easy to read and super engaging), and have cried so many times from feeling understood and seen. Both Rox and Rich articulate the different perspectives of a situation so well! I gave this to my husband to read so he could better understand his teenaged son. I have not heard the word "lazy" come out of his mouth once since then.I have learned new tactics to deal with the ADHD overload, and can really appreciate just doing some project ideas in my mind only, and feeling satisfied.

Title: Ugly-cried with 'groy'
Review: Grief + Joy = Groy, the feeling that melted me in sobbing tears as I recognized myself and my demeaning self-beliefs since, oh, age 5? This book is giving me the words to tell my loving, supportive husband why I need certain things from him, small-but-big behaviors laid out by Rich &Rox.I got this for me and their first book, Dirty Laundry, for my family to understand me better. Having absorbed both in 2 days (they're fast reads for hyper-focused people) I think about half of each book is the same, but from slightly different lenses. DL is a good intro to what ADHD looks like in primarily-women who could hyperfocus as a child to get good-enough grades and just enough executive regulation to stay out of trouble. Rox's stories include the harmful self-talk while focusing on symptoms.Small Talk is a good stand-alone if youâve already got a diagnosis and need reassurance that you already "tried harder" and that's never going to last more than 3 weeks. So in my opinion, it's their more-important book. Lie #6 specifically goes into Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria, something the United States is starting to pay attention to. Really important to understand!!!!I also see much of this advice helpful for supporting the well-being of teens and young adults. So thank you, ADHD Love, for listening to the community and putting this book together.

Title: Buy 2!
Review: This book is absolutely great to read together with your significant other, I ended up buying two of them so that my neurotypical wife could read it at the same time as I did. I have ADHD and I feel like this book not only opened my eyes to certain behaviors that I have but also helped my wife understand that some of the âismsâ that I have are not necessarily things I can help. I wouldnât go as far as saying this book is going to save my marriage⦠but it has helped give me a voice when I felt like my wife was never going to be able to hear me or understand.

Review: Iâm from Germany and discovered Roxy and Rich due to Facebook reels. Iâm currently in the process of getting diagnosed with ADHD and as the two promoted this book, I had to buy it instantly. 99% of the smalltalk I thought, I was the only one doing it, as I often feel weird, stupid, useless. I cried because I felt so reliefed to be finally not alone with all this. Thank you Roxy! And thank you Rich too!

They provide good advice and reflections to take with you when trying to rewire your self image, without being lecturing or preaching, but by gently taking your hand and showing you a different path of self talk.
