Title: A distinguishable upgrade
Review: I loved this Kalimba the moment I touched it. It is smooth and beautifully crafted. It replaced my Unikko Kalimba instantly, due to the bright resonance of the higher tines and the feel of it in my hands. All materials used are of higher quality. The metal is finished more elegantly and and it and the wood are smoother to the touch. As a beginner, I appreciate the complete package including the sturdy case, which I had to purchase separately for my previous Kalimba. It is deeper and sturdier but just as light. The set also includes a cleaning cloth (not pictured because I misplaced it) and brown color stickers. The tines are curved and more flexible. The engraved letters are larger and more readable but I ended up getting letter/number stickers to help me see them better at night while I learn. I'm 55 and getting older, so my eyesight is not getting any better. The booklet too, is much more encompassing compared to the Unikko Kalimba, including beginning music reading instruction. I just wish the letters were more distinguishable in the notes, but I plan to enlarge them in a copier to help me learn faster. I definitely recommend this Kalimba. It is a pleasure to play and always makes me look forward to my next practice session! The video is a comparison between the Quokka Tunes and Unikko Kalimbas, tuned to C major. I'm glad I got to experience both and made a very well informed decision to keep the Quokka Tunes Kalimba instead. As an added bonus to the world, a new tree is planted with each Kalimba purchased. You can't go wrong with this purchase.

Title: What a sweet Kalimba
Review: When i first saw this Kalimba I fell in love with the design (I mean look at the Quokka, can this get any cuter?) and after i looked through some reviews here and on youtube to hear how the Kalimba sounds, I decided to buy it.When I opened the package i was blown away, in person it looks even better than on the pictures i saw, the wooden body feels nice and well made. I love the width (i have very small hands and it fits perfectly) and it's light so you can play for some time without getting tired hands/wrists.It comes in a sturdy case that includes all the extras for example a display stand to showcase this beauty to everyone who steps into your house, a cleaning brush, the tune hammer and a cloth for more cleaning. There is also a little booklet included that is perfect for a beginner to get a grasps on how to play it. I had to tune it a tiny bit tho the poor little thing had to travel for a long time and once you understand how the tuning works it's done fast and you can try playing your first songs with it.And of course for the sound: For me the sound is lovely, it's louder than the other hollow kalimba i have which i'm happy about. The tines have the notes engraved and they are a bit curved which makes it easier for me to play it compared to my other kalimba.Overall it makes a lot of fun to play with it, it makes me smile when i look at the cute design and you even support planting a tree with buying this!

Title: Wonderful beginner instrument, beautifully crafted
Review: I'm a novice when it comes to instruments, but I've picked up the kalimba pretty quickly. I put a lot of research into best practices (and makers) for the kalimba before buying, and I am glad I went with QT, as many reviewers suggested them. This might be one of the priciest kalimbas of this type (hollow-bodied), but the craftsmanship make the purchase worthwhile. This particular set also comes with a ton of extras that are quite nice--not cheap "freebies", but actual useable items, like the stand, carrying case, and standard tuning implements. I used the booklet and suggested tuning app to get started, and it was all incredibly intuitive and fun. And it sounds SO beautiful. I love it.Best of all, the QT people have amazing customer service. My first kalimba arrived with a crack in the body, and they helped me facilitate an exchange and then checked in on me a few days laters. They also planted two trees, as is their mission, even though I only technically bought one kalimba.All around, if you're looking for your first kalimba, or even if you're a more advanced player, I think QT is who you should go with, rather than a cheaper option. In the long run, you'll be glad you did!

Title: A truly wonderful kalimba.
Review: I studied kalimbas a lot online and finally decided on this one because the tones are perfect and it is very lightweight. When I got it, I was delighted--it looks well crafted, the tones are , even the highest ones,the tones are clear, and it is very light. It came with a carry sack, a very strong protective zipper case, a stand to put the kalimba on, a tuning hammer, cleaning brush, and a detailed instruction book with many songs at different player levels. It did not include thumb guards or tab labels, but the labels are engraved on the tines and easy to read. I had some questions which I emailed to the company and they answered in detail the very next day. I love this kalimba and if I were to choose again I would still choose this one.

Review: Ich bin absolut begeistert von dieser Kalimba! Von Anfang an hat sie mich mit ihrem wunderschönen, beruhigenden Klang verzaubert. Sie ist nicht nur ein Musikinstrument, sondern ein kleines Stück Magie in meinen Händen :)Die Kalimba von Quokka wurde in einer hochwertigen Verarbeitung geliefert, und die Tasten sind präzise gestimmt. Die Handwerkskunst und die Materialien, die bei ihrer Herstellung verwendet wurden, sind offensichtlich von hoher Qualität und liegen echt super in der Hand und Ich hab ziemlich kleine Hände.Die Töne, die diese Kalimba erzeugt, sind kristallklar und harmonisch. Es macht so viel Spaß, damit zu spielen und eigene Melodien zu improvisieren. Selbst als Anfänger habe ich mich in kürzester Zeit in dieses Instrument verliebt, und es hat mir so sehr geholfen, meine musikalische Kreativität zu entfalten. 🙂
