Title: Wonderful!
Review: In late 2020, we bought a Ram 2500 Hemi with a Std bed and a 31ft FW. The FW had a Turning Point pin box which I thought was a brilliant concept. However, going down the Fwy onto a ramp onto another Fwy, there was a large "dip" in the ramp. Doing 55 mph in the turn, the wedge, which was properly installed, jumped out of the slot behind the hitch jaws and landed on top of the hitch plate at about 20 degrees. This threw the FW out of alignment and caused it to fishtail wildly. Luckily, there was no one along side of us because we would have taken them out. That's when I ordered the Andersen Hitch. I LOVE IT! Easy to install and hook up. No "chunking". Very smooth and light weight. The old hitch was 200 lbs, so this saved about 150 (enough for a queen Tempur Pedic in the bedroom!) The truck doesn't have to be in perfect alignment with the FW to hook up and easy to remove. We have the rail system so there was a little play up and down which I solved by taking 2 inch wide 1/8 inch thick neoprene pieces 6 inches long with the Andersen tab slots cut out between the hitch and the rails to cushion and prevent rubbing the paint off the rails. The 9 inch offset of this system also adds more clearance from the back window of the truck; nice!

Title: Excellent value, works extremely well, better than a conventional fifth wheel
Review: This hitch was purchased to tow a 35' fifth wheel in a crew cab standard bed 4WD 3/4 ton pickup. ISR rails were chosen to help minimize weight added to the tow vehicle.The hitch pulls confidently and has very little bucking and is virtually silent, both unlike a kingpin fifth wheel. The hitch is very sturdy yet light and easy to remove and install. GCVW is around 19K lbs in my application for reference. I have not yet tried to turn to 90° but am pretty sure it would do it. The adapter did have to be installed 180° due to the short bed. Hooking up is easy. Weight transfer to the truck was fairly even lightening the front end at full load by <100 lbs as measured on a CAT scale. It was easy to get the trailer level with the tow vehicle level under load. No additional parts purchased or modified to make that happen in this case. Depends on vehicle and trailer specifics I expect.I will likely not consider a conventional fifth wheel hitch unless some future application demands it and will choose the Andersen again should I need to purchase another.2021 UPDATE: After a recent extreme cold snap, I noticed the plastic coupler insert laying on the ground beneath the RV. Presumably the heat cycling allowed the interference fit insert to fall out of the coupler. I contacted Andersen support, described the situation, and they are sending out an entire new coupler. This is exemplary customer service reaffirming that this hitch is the way to go if it fits one's needs. Over a year later, still would purchase and recommend this hitch. Reviewer: Gordgonefishing

Review: I purchased a new 5th wheel trailer (heavy 12,000 Lbs) and wanted to upgraded my hitch as well. As I'm getting older, handling a 150 pound hitch in and out of my truck bed was not only difficult, but it was just a matter of time before I injured myself. The Andersen hitch is lightweight, but sturdy, and very easy to handle. I've had heard a lot of good things about the Andersen Hitch and it has lived up to expectations. In fact, I'm more than pleased with the hitch for a number of additional reasons: 1) The ride quality is so much better than my previous hitch; no more chucking and banging - very smooth when starting out or stopping. 2) I have a standard bed truck (6.6') bed and needed more turning radius clearance from the cab to the trailer cap when turning sharp. The offset of the Andersen hitch allows my to turn my truck almost 90 degrees without hitting - no slider hitch needed. 3) Very easy to get the trailer on and off the hitch. The only possible negative is when others may want to pull my trailer (dealer or when getting trailer serviced) the adapter covers the standard pin. However, I did notice my local dealer has a ball on their fork lift to move Andersen pin box and goose neck adapter trailers. Overall, I'm very pleased with this product!

Title: Solid hitch and easy to install/remove
Review: On recommendation from a friend who tows with the AUH, I purchased this to haul my new-to-me Grand Design Solitude 377MBS. The hitch is rated for a trailer GTWR of 20,000lbs, and my trailer is 16,800 max. Very much like the ease of hitching up the 5th wheel - funnel allows some mismatch and still guides the ball into location.Was thinking of adding a removable flag to the locking handle to remind me the status of the latch. Very easy to operate the latch though.My bed rails need a slight adjustment to allow the hitch to drop in place - only 2 pins insert easily currently. I use a rubber mallet to install/remove the other two pins for now.

Review: My impressions after setting up the hitch and towing for the 1st time with a 2016 Ford F-250 short bed truck:-Setup and instructions was a breeze-The hitch is light and easy to remove from the bed-The hitch is quiet, no clunking or chucking sounds-The hitch/kingpin adapter are greaseless & clean-You can hitch from multiple angles (depending on tailgate clearance)Notes:-I am not able to view the hitch ball from my rear view mirror, which would be my only con. So I will have to devise a process to help with aligning to the king pin adapter over the ball.-I haven't decided on the safety chains yet, though in some states they are required-I will purchase 1 piece hitch pins which will make it easier to remove/attach the hitch after every trip

Review: Je l’ai installé sur mon f150 pour remorquer une fifth wheel depuis maintenant deux ans. Incroyable c’est plus doux qu’une attache conventionnelle, facile à enlever, et en plus ça me donne un 100 livres de plus du à son poids ultra léger que je récupère pour ma charge. Et c’est moins encombrant dans la boîte du pickup. Un autre bon point à savoir elle se pinne avec les mêmes encrages qu’une attache conventionnelle, tu enlèves l’autre et tu mets celle là sans aucun fittage. J’ai même pas un petit bémol a dire dessus je la recommande sans hésitation.

Review: J'ai installé le tout en moins de 30min. Après un essai sur route, je suis très satisfait, aucun bruit lors freinage ou accélération et très stable sur route. Facile d'arrimer la fifthwheel à l'attache dans le camion. Je peux tourner pratiquement à 90 degré avec une boite de camion de 6.5 pouces. La beauté du produit est dans la légèreté de l'attache dans le camion, c'est très facile à mettre et enlever versus une attache conventionnelle. Je recommande fortement cette attache. J'avais une Sidewinder avant et j'aime de beaucoup mieux le andersen pour la facilité d'utilisation.

Review: I bought this to tow the heavier, longer 5th wheel I got to replace an older, smaller, lighter one. When I towed the new trailer with the old standard 5th wheel hitch I already had there was quite a bit of clunking sound from the hitch. The new Andersen hitch eliminated this and made towing much smoother. It is much easier to hook and unhook as well. The much lighter ball mount is far better to deal with than the old heavy assembly, it was a struggle to lift the old one into the truck bed but no problem at all with the new Andersen unit. I really like this hitch and find it well worth the price.
