The ultimate secret. The ultimate agent. The President's vampire.

Zach Barrows is a cocky, ambitious White House employee until he's abruptly transferred out and partnered with Nathaniel Cade, a secret agent sworn to protect the president.

But Cade is no ordinary civil servant. Bound 140 years ago by a special blood oath, Nathanial Cade is a vampire. On the orders of the president he defends the nation against enemies far stranger-and even more dangerous-than civilians like Zach could ever imagine.

Title: Finally, a Vampire Novel with Teeth!!!
Review: With all the fluff, cutesy, sweet romance vampires out there it's nice to see authors like Christopher Farnsworth writing a vampire novel you can really sink your teeth into. This book has it all: action, mystery, secret agents, scary vampires, damsels in distress (Well, sort of), villains that would do any James Bond movie proud, even a new sidekick. Nathaniel Cade is a scary man, of course he's not a man at all but a vampire and not just any vampire but the Presidents Vampire.. He is our last line of defense against all of the things that go bump in the night. Sworn to a blood oath over a century ago Mr. Cade protects our country from not only terrorists and other man made evils but also the horrors that must remain invisible to the common man. I had a great time with this book. It was action packed and was a very fast read. The book had a nice flow and doesn't ever get bogged down in pointless details or fluff to extend the pages. I've seen some reviewers saying it read's more like a movie and maybe it's because Mr. Farnsworth write screenplay's but I think his writing fits his characters perfectly. Mr. Cade is not a deep person (at least on the outside). He doesn't bemoan his situation, doesn't sit and whine oh why me, poor me. He only does one thing and he does it well but at the same time I feel that we haven't even scratched the surface with him and belive Mr. Farnsworth has left so much more of his past for later. This was a great debut novel. It's very James Bond meets ... well Vampires. The villians are top notch. They are mean, ruthless yet at no time do they feel fake or too over the top. There are so many things going on with the villians and shadowy organizations that you just know you'll be hearing more from them in the future. The action sequences are good and you get these brief looks into Mr. Cade's mind here and there. I for one can't wait to read more. The next book is already in the mail.

Title: Great premise filled with action and awesome characters
Review: Oddly enough, this book was recommended by ChatGPT. I was looking for stories with supernatural beings and the government, and here I am.I absolutely loved all the details about how Cade "works". All those notes and scientific explanations had me wondering all the time how they had managed to get some of that data? Was Cade ordered to do those tests or did he want to know himself? In any case, the author made it really easy to follow through the supernatural plot about this sometimes grumpy vampire fighting high-tech zombies. I loved Cade to pieces for being a vampire that doesn't really care that much for humans, but who retains his rigid moral compass no matter what. Even how he became bound to the President of the US was pretty well crafted. So, with all the supernatural aspects making sense, it was almost hilarious that the Secret Service wouldn't act like the Secret Service at all. That the mundane side of this story fell flat was a little bit of a facepalm for me, and the only reason why I'm giving this book 4 stars instead of 5.I did read all the books after this one though!

Title: More than a vampire
Review: I checked out the Look Inside pages of Blood Oath and had to buy it as soon as I got home. That excerpt of the first few pages hooked me. Having no idea what the book was about (other than a vampire who protects the Prez.), I was a bit perplexed to find all manner of underworld creatures making an appearance in the novel. But that turned out to be one of the most enjoyable aspects of the book for me. I love ancient relics, unexplained mysteries, conspiracy theories, government coverups, and the like. I thoroughly enjoyed all of these that made an appearance in the book. Who knew John's hand was a real thing? (I didn't.) The description of Cade's trophy room made me long to visit it. I hope Chris Farnsworth will someday write a storyline around each one of those items! The Kindle version unfortunately has typos (most egregiously missing periods), and I hate that for all the people who worked hard to present a proof'ed hardcopy. But that's easy enough to overlook and simply enjoy the fast paced, easy-to-follow, action filled, fun story. The author did his research on phrases a 140-yr-old might say (he's a bit of an oilcan), war, politics, even the tunnel system under Washington, and fit it seamlessly into the book. Some of my favorite lines:"...the Serbian army waited at the border, pacing like an angry dog behind a fence.""Questions were met with the kind of silence that implied a court-martial in the near future.""The sound of the M24 was a polite cough.""...Dylan's dad kept touching his new hair plugs, like a gardener tenderly checking new sprouts."In the end, the author did what I love to read...he picked a fact from history and created a story around it. There was a president who pardoned a man accused of being a vampire. I love weird facts and mysteries, and I loved this book. I'm sure the series just gets better.

Review: Cade as the presidents vampire seemed over the top at first but the plot and characters are well crafted and fit well into the myths of old. Farnsworth does a great job with the gentleman vampire!

Review: Our hero is someone who can only come out at night which you would think would limit his ability for creating mayhem but not Nathaniel Cade, oh no! And the action we get is both graphic and full on with a truly thrilling and exciting storyline to keep you turning the pages. There's also very mad and extremely evil genius who has an irrational hatred of America and sides with a group who equally hate America you know who they are (all oil and no trousers.) I don't want to put in spoilers because there's so much more to say. I'm not into vampire stories but was so into this book so quickly I'd bought the set. A true 9/10.
