24-HOUR ROTTEN EGG SMELL ELIMINATION IN HOT WATER

Corro-Protec will remove the sulfur smell from well water and city water and is especially effective in hot water.

No matter what causes the sulfur odor in your hot water, the Corro-Protec powered anode rod offers a reliable and cost-effective solution for neutralizing it. Moreover, it is a time-efficient answer to your problem, as it requires no maintenance and does not involve the use of chemicals like hydrogen peroxide or bleach.

Once the system is operational, the energy projected by our powered anode rod will prevent these unpleasant smells for years to come! If the foul smell also originates from the cold water, it means that your water source is contaminated. In that case, Corro-Protec will help by reducing the odor in hot water but won't solve this issue in cold water.

Sulfur smell in hot water is a common issue around North America and affects both new and old water heaters. Rest assured, Corro-Protec is your trusted solution to effectively eliminate this persistent problem.

STOPS CORROSION INSIDE THE TANK & PREVENTS WATER HEATER LEAKS

Our Corro-Protec anode combined with the electrical current will provide added corrosion protection and increase the lifespan of your hot water tank.

Our technology provides a layer of permanent corrosion protection on the internal solders and weak points of the tank.

This technology is recognized by corrosion specialists and has been laboratory tested. We believe that powered anode rods should be installed in all water heater tanks to increase their lifespan.

Replacing magnesium or aluminum anodes every year ensures a protection from corrosion; however, the use of material depleting returns to diminishing effectiveness over time.

Moreover, powered anode rod greatly reduces the amount of water heater parts in the landfill every year when corrosion takes over and damages the tanks. Postponing disposal is essential for promoting sustainable practices.

REDUCES SEDIMENT BUILDUP AND LIMESCALE

The formation of limescale can cause a variety of costly issues, including the rehabilitation of water pipes and heating installations, as well as considerable energy losses.

The Corro-Protec powered anode is then used to break apart calcium molecules found in the water, preventing further calcite formation and compromising the formation of limescale which is usually left behind by hard water when it evaporates (water with high mineral count).

Limescale water can have negative impacts on the scalp and causes brittle and dull hair.

CLOUDY WATER AND AIR IN HOT WATER LINES

Air in hot water lines is a common problem and can be caused by various factors.

Corrosion inside water heaters is one of the most common causes, as it produces hydrogen which builds up and is released when hot water is used. Corro-Protec powered anode rods prevent and stop the corrosion process inside the tank.

Factory-installed magnesium anodes may also produce some hydrogen; however, it usually has no impact on water pressure. Finally, turning off the water supply or performing maintenance work can also allow air to enter the system.

Stop corrosion and the bubbles all at once!

FITS ON ELECTRIC, GAS, SOLAR, HYBRID, INDIRECT AND GEOTHERMAL WATER HEATERS

Corro-Protec anodes fit all water heater tank types, except tankless models, which do not have an anode.

When you choose a Corro-Protec powered anode rod, the capacity of your water heater is what really matters.

Standard tanks range from 40 to 89 gallons and will require our 40-89 gallon model which fits dedicated anode port.

However, if you have a Bradford White tank, you might need our anode model for Bradford White and Hot Water Outlet Installation in place instead of our 40-89-gallon model.

Our anode rod can be installed in both new and existing water heaters.

CORRO-PROTEC IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IF YOU HAVE A WATER SOFTENER

Corro-Protec anodes are safe with any water sources (city and well water) and water treatment systems (water softener, filtration, reverse osmosis, etc.).

It's worth knowing that water softeners can be very aggressive in causing corrosion because soft water is conducive, and thus prone to, corrosion. Additionally, they can promote the growth of Sulfur Reducing B (SRB), which is typically responsible for the rotten egg smell in hot water. The Corro-Protec powered anode rod will automatically adjust its current to provide optimum corrosion protection.

The Corro-Protec anode uses a completely different technology than sacrificial anode.

This technology will last much longer and will offer better protection to your tank.

Corro-Protec powered anode rods are Smaller, More Durable (20 years) & Better than any sacrificial anode rods.

Corro-Protec anodes are continuously tested in our lab in order to offer you safe and effective products.

Anode rod for hot water heater

CORRO-PROTEC POWERED ANODE ROD HAS BEEN DESIGNED AND TESTED TO LAST FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS

When a hot water tank is exposed to corrosive water, the sacrificial anode will transfer electrons to the inner side of the hot water tank to protect it. The anode will slowly deplete. After a year or so, there will be no more protection.

To protect your tank, replace the existing anode with a Corro-Protec Powered Anode Rod and connect the current rectifier. Our Corro-Protec combined with the electrical current will provide improved corrosion protection & increase the life of your water heater.

Powered anode rods are made of stable materials (titanium) that do not disintegrate like sacrificial anode (magnesium, aluminum and zinc). A powered anode rod generates permanent protection instead of temporary protection. Doesn’t require any maintenance like sacrificial anodes. 12-inch long powered anode rods greatly facilitate installation in restricted space. Safe to use with a water softener, and well and city water.

Title: Works great
Review: Easy to install, worked on getting rid of smell took about 8 hours to go away, better than buying a new anode rod every year.

Title: Rotten Eggs are Gone!
Review: We have well water and a softener, but until our water heater was replaced no problem. The smell would come after about 3 weeks and I had the original anode (aluminum) replaced with magnesium. Same issue after 3 weeks. I wouldn't buy another Bradford White heater because the water discharge goes through the anode. This causes complications when installing the Corro-protect. Have to alter discharge pipe, but their ss fitting works well. This thing has worked without any odors for over 4 months! I have a 30 gallon tank and asked for the 5ma power supply. Customer service was great.

Title: This has solved my problem but I should wait a little longer.
Review: First of all I bought the "Bradford White" version of this kit that comes with the extra "y" pipe because a lot of bradfords use the hot water outlet that is also the anode rode. The vast majority of other water heaters use a stand alone anode that does not need the "y" pipe. With that in mind, my hot water had a sulfur smell from the corrosion of the anode. I replaced the heavily corroded anode with a different type of material and it made an improvement but the smell was still present. I was told the powered anode was what I needed so I bought this. The 2nd anode was not as corroded as the first one. This Corro-Protec has only been in for 2 weeks but as of right now the smell is gone. When I first plugged it in I was confused why I didn't see the light on the plug turn on. After reading the instructions I realized that I had to refill the water level in the tank until the rod was touching the water for it to work.

Title: Great Solution Anode Rod Solution despite Bradford White's terrible engineering
Review: Short Version: Despite installation being difficult (I fully blame Bradford White and NOT Corro-Protec) I'm pleased that this powered anode rod has completely eliminated my stinky hot water situation.Long Version: What the heck was Bradford White thinking when they designed a hot water heater with the anode rod integrated into the discharge side of the hot water heater??? I'm very glad that Corro-Protec designed a product that even allows for installation, but the fact that this re-engineering had to occur in the first place is a complete and utter failure by the hot water heater manufacturer and is very consumer-unfriendly.With that rant out of the way, ease of installation is going to vary greatly depending upon your hot water discharge side setup and your ceiling height. Unfortunately for me, the my particular setup meant that I had to use a reciprocating saw to cut off part of the original anode rod as my ceiling was too low.The rest of the procedure was fairly straight forward, but did involve some trial and error. Make absolutely sure that you tighten the heck out of the supplied y-pipe so that the tapered edge seats against the threads of the water heater outlet.Installation aside, my only gripe is that the kit is perhaps a bit pricy for what you get. You do, however, get a 20-year warranty and a seemingly better engineered solution compared to similar products here on Amazon.Overall, I'd give a 4 out of 5 stars and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others.

Title: ATTACHMENT DOES NOT FIT BRADFORD WHITE
Review: I bought two of these sets as the first fitting adapter did not appear to fit my Bradford White water heater but both had the same exact issue. Since both did not fit properly, it's not a QA issue - this simply was not designed properly in the first place. If you look at the picture, on the right is the adapter fitting included. On the left is the brand new magnesium rod from my new Bradford Unit. Notice that the taper on included fitting does not match. It is not tapered enough but it is also at a weird, non-symmetrical angle. When you try tighten it down by hand, then start to put a wrench on it, it immediately starts to go in at an angle. Despite what the manual says, do not use tape and do not force it down or it will ruin your threads inside your water heater and cause irreparable damage. What was supposed to be a 2 hour job replacing my old water heater became an all night job as I had to mill down the threads and create my own taper and proper angle. The end of the fitting is also very thin walls so there was very little margin for error milling it down. I used some pipe dope to ensure a good fit.At the end of the day, everything seems to work fine. No leaks and no weird smells (could also be cause I paid for a top of the line water heater). However, the amount of effort I had to put in to make this work was total not worth it and I should have returned it in the first place. If you are not handy and don't know how to fix the defective fitting they give you, do not attempt this as it will destroy your water heater and leak. For the astronomical price of this product it should work out the box.

Review: Product arrived ahead of scheduled date. Relatively simple device but it is made of quality material with 20 year warranty. That should make it worth the price. Exceptional packaging, straight forward literature and very good company website; gives the impression this is a well run company. New well and water heater, extremely hard water (luckily no smell) to the extent that electrodes made a boiling sound when heating. After installing powered anode and before the tank came up to temperature the sound had decreased to almost nothing. Time will tell, but as long as the green light is on it will be far superior to conventional anodes for my situation.

Review: We recently bought a new home. The house is 20 years old, and on well water. Wasn’t until after we purchased it that we realized the smell that comes with the hot water (and I’m telling you, it was bad, like smelled like a sewer when it was on). We had a local water company come in and try to tell us we needed 14k in filters etc. My plumber suggested trying this electric anode rod, all I can say is thank you. The smell was gone in 12 hours, and we can finally use the hot water!
