Due to the high proportion of liquid in contact with the mini wooden barrel charred interior, spirits can age up to 10x faster than a larger, commercial sized whiskey bourbon barrel, giving a balanced and aged flavor to alcohol in weeks rather than years.
FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS on how to cure your handcrafted 2L Thousand Oaks barrel and start sampling aged whiskey or bourbon after just a few days. If desired, add Swish Barrel Essence Flavoring (not included) and in two weeks, your one-of-a-kind liquor blend will be aged to perfection and ready to serve straight from the tap. Pour into a liquor decanter to stop the aging process.

Title: Makes bad whisky good.
Review: It will leak for an hour or so when new, till the wood absorbs some liquid and then it seals up tight.It works 2 times only. That is. After the 2nd fill, the wood is done and won't do anything to your whiskey. Best plan is to fill it up with cheap stuff. Wait 2 weeks. Then it's ready. If you do the math it's cheaper to buy this barrel and 6 bottles of rebel yell than to buy 6 bottles of Weller's.

Review: Beautiful barrel. It had some minor leaks, but after following the cutting process and applying just a little bit of barrel wax around the spigot, it’s fine. It does come with a fair bit of wood chips/splinters inside, but most of the loose stuff came out with a good shaking before the curing process, and I didn’t see any when I dumped the barrel after curing. So far, no chips or foreign debris has shown up in any of my drinks. I would give 5 stars if the stand raises the barrel high enough to fit a whiskey glass under it. I’m going to put a wood block under it to provide clearance.

Title: Well made, no leaks!
Review: Researched online and bought some barrel wax to prepare for usual small leaks. Was pleasantly surprise there were no leaks when filled with water for the first time. The spigot works fine, too. I have it filled with water and sodium metabisulfite for the first 5 days, then I plan to age quality balsamic vinegar. The barrel is well designed and one of the few available which are charred inside.

Title: Very leaky
Review: Followed directions and filled with water. waited until no more water was leaking (7days), waited 1 extra day to make sure, emptied water, refilled with alcohol. About 1 week later, alcohol started dripping out. Got the barrel wax and applied it, alcohol still leaking out of barrel. After the 3 months had passed, I drained the alcohol out of barrel, put 1 liter in and got 250ml out 3 months later. Refilled barrel with water, continues to leak so severely, I had to put it in an aluminum pan. The little bit of alcohol I did get, had very good color, aroma and flavor.

Title: Looks great, but I can't stop the leaks
Review: I want to be fair and say of the 3 barrels I bought from this seller 2 sealed perfectly. They were both 5 liter, and I think that might be part of it. The barrel looks great and I will find a way to use it. I am thinking of melting up a bunch of beeswax and dipping the edges in it since this is where all the leaking is. I think these folks make good products, it just might be really hard to get these smaller barrels to seal.

Review: I literally had only one drop of leakage! After a little over a month the clear liquid I put in it is turning a nice brown color with flavors that mimic Kentucky bourbon.
